interesting choices! i've worn white t shirts and jeans all my life so far. a few months ago i wanted to try high end shirts, started with merz b schwanen, awesome quality but tricky sizing. based on the heddels white t shirt test results, i tried lady white shirts. so far they're my favorites.
I got a two pack and although nice, I found after 6 or so washes, the neck didn't hold its shape.
Dean here in Arizona, sunny! Went with 3sixteen instantly w/pocket white of course, thank you for the information very helpful.

I really wish I could afford $50+ white tees to trash. Unfortunately I'm a working man and a white T, if I'm lucky, will make it about 5 wears before it is stained up. About the nicest I can do is the CK 3 packs for $50. Those are dedicated to "nicer" summer time (parties/BBQs outside) white tees and it's the cheapo Fruit of the Loom white tees for everything else. Wear a couple times then they get cut up into shop rags... Love your channel, buddy!
Warehouse T shirts are the best I’ve tried yet. I have one in black but I’m sure they have a white one as well.

A few I would recommend....I have a number of vintage ones by Champion and I love them. The American Apparel Hammer Tshirt is a staple for me but, sadly, that brand is disappearing. Uniqlo makes a surprisingly nice Pima cotton t-shirt. I have several and they are part of my regular rotation. LVC also makes a nice t-shirt.
Yeah, it was the 3sixteens I went for. Simply due to availability... such nice shirts!
So glad you made this Video! Looking at my poor stock of T's (apart from 1 Levi's with Darf Vader on it) I started to desperately search for what were good quality brands of TShirts. Its difficult! Ended up getting a couple of Benzaks thanks to their post XMas sale. Nice heavy stuff (250gms I think) but very long . On the subject of cuts: found a grey LVC with that 1950's cut and even the wife commented on how fantastic the cut was. Loved that story from the German brand! Good winter alternative to summer TShirt is of course a good Henley under a chambray, twill or denim shirt.
The benzak shirts are great. Do they have a white one? I've got a couple of the crackle prints. Super old school style

American Giant has a nice white heavyweight pocket tee and they also have a slub cotton tee in bone that is my current go to.

Late reply, but check out comfort colors. I have 3 t-shirts. All 100% cotton, 6oz, and loopwheeled as well. I have had them for 7+ years and they get they still get the most mileage out any shirts in my closet. Cheap as well

Great video, thanks for reviewing some of the top plain white t-shirt choices out there. I usually go for a Medium size tee (thin physique, 1.81m tall) and the shrinkage is what really makes me doubt for the 3sixteen and Merz ones. Is the shrinkage so heavy that would make me size up in any of them or you believe I should go for my normal size?
With Merz, I would size up. With 3sixteen. Now I’m not 100% sure but I think the lightweight Ts are prewashed so should be stable. The heavyweights I think I’d size up. I always er on the side of caution and go larger. Less strain on the collar so looks better for longer. There’s always a little shrink on all garments anyhow. And I use Ts as layering so like a little more length.
I have both the 215 and the 1950 from Merz.B. I am also a Medium and didn't have to size up at all. The 215 actually got softer after a few washes and has adjusted to my body shape. I didn't notice any shrinkage (Washed and dried as advised). I love it!
Uniqlo U is my favorite. 15 bucks, really thick and a really nice collar, what else can you ask for?
I havent tried uniqlo supima cotton but the U is sometimes a bit too thick in my opinion.
A few folks have mentioned Uniqlo. Need to check them out.
I dunno maybe you could ask for something made with ethics which would respect workers and the environment ?
@@CeeAreDee The quality varies quite a lot on the colors and the fabrics, too inconsistent for me to make them my go to place for inexpensive but decent quality white tees. Any tips to prolong the yellow staining on the armpit area of a white tee? White is such a delicate color, it could get stained so easily and yellow due to sweat and deodorant stains. It naturally wont have a long life and im not sure if i want to pay $55+ for a tee that im bound to stian ( cause im clumsy af and eat like a pig) so some tips would be appreciated so that i can try and prolong of this $55 white tee that i may want to buy.

While I love the look of an off-white/beige/cream color t-shirt with a pair of raw denim, I feel that if you are under 5’10 (177cm) it can make you look much shorter or as my Grandmother would say “cut in half”. As someone who is 5’9 (175cm), when not wearing boots, I stick to a more monochrome style, when possible, with my raws. So with t-shirts a dark blue, dark red, charcoal grey, or black works best. I also like J.Crew dyed slub t-shirts the best with them but that is just personal preference.
I love polo ralph lauren tee shirts those were always my favorites.

orSlow is amazing t-shirt as new. Really thick fabric and fits nicely but after you wash it few time it shrinks a lot. When it shrinks the fabric also become more dense and feels not so good on you. I like orSlow clothing but i think this t-shirt is a miss because of shrinkage problem. I have owned it in every color so this is happening because of fabric they use. Size 3 shrinked about 2 inch in width and 2 inch in length if i remember correctly. Pit-to-pit was 22.5" as new and after several washes about 21.5" or even less. Because of the old time cut with big arm holes you need extra space so you cant have as tight shirt as with Velva Sheen.
Mister Freedom Stanley obviously in white 😛 USA made, great texture, and awesome stitching details as far as Ts go my favorite for sure

I'm curious about the Naked and Famous t-shirts. Anyone have any experience with those?
Try Armour Lux white T-Shirts, around £30 but they are thick, have a real nice collar and hold the shape very nicely, thru also have some nice attention to detail. Norse Projects are good too, so are the shirts, I have had one now for 15years and its still going strong, just a thread has came loose on the front and that's it.
Sorry, I forgot to add that Duffer of St George are very good white T-Shirts and have had some for almost 10years and at around £10 each you can't go wrong.
Armour Lux... True! Always think of them with the striped shirt. But you're right. They do great plain shirts.
Nice vid, but I do struggle with buying white T's bc my pants will dye them blue (happened so to a Murphys Irish Grandfather shirt. Luckily the shirt shrunk during wash even before dye, so it's my 'home-chill-garment')
I find that the blue washed off no problem

I’ve been on the lookout for years for something similar. No luck as yet. And I agree. 50 bucks is a stretch. T shirts are tricky!

I always look for really heavy t-shirts, hoodies, flannel etc. Will check out a few of your suggestions, still looking for that perfect tee.
Haha, thanks buddy. Always like to be open with folks :) I am down with the heavy flannels but for hoodies and Ts, I like to have them a little on the lighter side. Just because of the layering thing.
