Red light therapy or photobiomodulation is intended to improve mitochondrial functioning
Any claims that red light therapy help improve fat burning is missing the point of red light therapy. NIR penetrates more deeply, and can reach into internal organs, joints and also thru the skull and into the brain.

Hello Patrick. I haven't been sure how to respond to what you've written. I've been a skeptic from the beginning with the studies. I believe more data is needed when it comes to these studies. However, the studies and articles I've read suggest that improving mitochondria should lead to an increase in cells that convert fat cells into energy, there for reducing 'fat stores.' Another thing these articles and studies show is that red light increases blood circulation, which helps get rid of excess or 'residual' fat around the waist. The third thing is that red light increases metabolism by activating certain enzymes. More research is required, but if I had lost more weight or had more reduction around the waist, I might have believed in it more. But it was worth a try. Best regards /Philip

Algorithm sent me here, typo in your title photo. It says “Final Macth” as opposed to final match.

Hello @nessiah8224. Thank you for your observation. I believe I forgot to change my keyboard to English, so it was set to Swedish, which sometimes leads to its own "spellings." The intention was to write "Final Match." It has been corrected now. Thank you so much!

    8.6 pounds in 9 days! That's dramatic.

Well, the only interesting thing about this experiment was that I didn’t lose muscle volume or strength; otherwise, I found the weight loss to be so-so. But you can't have other expectations when you’re 'burning' fat (it takes time). My personal conclusion is that red light hasn’t reduced any fat or increased fat burning, but there might be a chance that it helped maintain muscle mass. I learned a lot from making this video and from the small critiques I received

So you fasted, worked out regularly, and got more sleep. That pretty much eliminates all chances of being able to tell if the red light did anything. This just wasted our time.

Hi @grog3514. Both yes and no. It might have been interesting to see if it made a difference if I had followed exactly what the research groups did. I have been treating myself for over six months, but not with the intention of getting rid of fat, as I have been skeptical or doubtful about the research behind it. When it comes to fasting, red light therapy, diet, and exercise, it was an attempt to maximize all these aspects. The result I achieved in those 10 days is something that I usually achieve after 4-5 weeks of intermittent fasting, and typically, I would also lose muscle volume, which I didn't this time (remarkable).
Speaking of fasting, I had some hopes that red light, which stimulates melatonin, could potentially stimulate and aid in the process of autophagy that Yoshinori Ohsumi has researched for 30 years and even received a Nobel Prize for. I highly recommend reading about his discoveries. Here in Sweden, they made an episode/documentary about his research, and it was his research that inspired me to start fasting.
However, I take note that clarity in "purpose," "process," and "results" should be a more consistent thread so that no "ifs" or "maybes" arise. Thank you for the feedback (I am learning). Best regards, Philip.

@@Philip.315 I agree that red light is interesting which is why I watched your video. But without eliminating other variables, there is no way to be sure what effect it had. Your other interventions are fairly drastic that can have dramatic effects on body composition and biometric markers. Without a carefully detailed control scenario we have no idea what effect the red light had. The only thing we might be able to say from your anecdotal experience is that red light might enhance a fast.

@@grog3514 If the result had been more than what I achieved, I would have been even more astonished by the outcome, as I have more experience with diets, fasting, or weight loss general (wrestling) compared to using red light. Setting that aside, do you have any preferences regarding content, editing, humor, etc.? Any feedback is helpful for me when planning, researching, and writing scripts.
