Folks if your questioning of buying one, get Solo's Mesa. If you like it as much as I do you'll buy the larger model. If not, your not out a lot of money and will still have a great stove - just much smaller.
I'm gonna have get one and try it! I loved the Ozark trails mini one tho! Idk if there is enough difference with the smaller stoves to just the price difference?
How did you find the heat sitting beside it? Do you think the heat deflector is worth buying? Im gonna be using it in the brutal Irish weather. Even in summer its cold
If you're in extreme cold I'm sure the heat deflector will help! But I do find that the the particular stove is the perfect height to sit around! Some of the other ones are too tall as to where the heat escapes without you feeling it
The cotton being so easy to catch makes it the ideal fire starter for a flint and steel! Some other fire starters need a few seconds of flame to start, those ones can literally be just a spark!
Honestly I really would... If I'm being honest I really wanted the cheaper alternatives to be the better option overall, and there are a few senarios where it could be, but overall yes worth the extra money!

Is the solo stove ranger thicker stainless than the walmart solo stove ?Thanks
It feels like it, and overall definitely feels much more quality.

I am a Solostove junky. Waiting for my Ranger stove to arrive. Planning to use it for motorcycle camping soon.
That is exciting! Have your first trip planned for it yet?!

Not yet hopefully sometime this summer.
Im looking forward to a comparision video with the ranger vs the ozark, side by side :)
Will be making the video soon!
Awesome, thanks! :)
Nice job. Looking forward to seeing what else you are doing.
Thank you! Any requests!?
@@Meanderin_Mitch Ozark has a tabletop tiny version. Like to see that one.
I actually did a video on it! I hope this helps! th-cam.com/video/a5u6BfxnBf0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nOqhGriy-NDCxuxj
Why is it easier to start that with a flint & steel? That fire looks sick!

@@Meanderin_Mitch that makes sense! What will you be reviewing next?
Not sure yet! Anything you'd like to see?
The bird belongs there you go away.
Hahaha you right tbh
Would you say it is worth the price?

Use pellets. The fire will last longer and the burn will be better than using chunks of wood. There will be no smoke at all. Cheers.
Have you really seen it last longer?? Last time I used pellets I went through a ton of them in like 20 minutes...
@@Meanderin_Mitch Actually, I bought some pellets after using small wood and twigs for a time. It definitely lasted longer.
Waste your money, back to basics dig a hole😅
Not quite as convenient but definitely an option!
