      Nintendo explained themselves why they placed the lava cookie in Fire Red and Leaf Green as well leaving a revive there once a day in front of the truck in the Kanto Let Go pokemon game remakes as well. Obviously in completely separate statements made in completely different times. The explanation for the inclusion of the revive in front of the truck in the Kanto remakes did not seem like the actual full truth of the matter, just the parts being used to explain the fans of the series though.

If anything, Rayquaza fits Quetzalcoatl, both being flying serpents and all, of course nothing in its pokedex matches or references anything in Indigenous Mexico. Also when has Pokémon mentioned that “Aztecs” worshipped mew? I thought Tablets with mew carved in them were found in Guyana so that would mean that indigenous Guyanese people would have worshipped mew. I researched what you claimed, and literally nothing references what you said. Also not everything that references carved Tablets found in South America is “Aztec”, that in itself is not even the correct word for Indigenous Mexicans. They play differently than the regular pokemon games. Even Nintendo admitted that they also play pokemon ROM hacks as well, and might take down notes based on what they feel appropriate to look at later. Most of them that you are playing now have been finished for a decade now, and just being discovered in mass now. In a an interview they were joking around about talking about certain ROM hacks that they only talked about out of context. They are perfectly aware of what the players base thinks of their actions that they are doing to the pokemon games, and have an answer prepared for everything and every question that they might have. They made their point pretty clear when they were questioned out of interview context about why Sword and Shield had a limited pokedex in the game. To awnswr your question about whether or not Rotom will have any more forms; they already said in another interview that took place before Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out, I believe, they were going to not make any more forms of Rotom and wanted to go in a completely different direction. It might just be coincidence, but it's fitting that an F4 Phantom is one of the main inspirations for Mew, because it's referred to as the Phantom Pokemon in the Pokemon Pocket Monsters manga. This video was fantastic for clearing up the discrepancies in the Mew origin story, and it leaves me with an even greater appreciation for the design process behind my favorite monster of all time. I'm shocked by just how much content, especially interviews, is locked behind the language barrier, and I'm glad that the international fanbase is finally able to access that information. I think the real world history of these games is just as fascinating as the fictional stories the games tell.

    She did a great job translating Mew for the movie. I remember rewinding the Mew parts because it was so cute. Maybe I just connected with Mew also being a easily amused kid.

    With all the established lore that exists in gen 1 for Mew, I never bought the "fact" that he was put in as a prank. This makes more sense

    Mew will always be my favourite Pokemon. Way back in my early school days this Pokemon was such a myth. The movie done such a great job at bringing Mew to life. It was the cute playful vibes while also being a power legendary .. how can you not love!

    I remember hearing about Mew and finding the Game Shark code to access it early. When I finally saw what was loaded after saving, I immediately loved the little critter. I'd know how Mew was basically responsible for bringing the series to the rest of the world, but some of this was even new to me. Makes me even more right in picking a favorite.

    wow, thank you so much for making this, it was an amazing watch. and i love every contribution each person made to bringing mew to life
    i love that mew was deliberately made as an inaccessible secret. not trying to sound all genwunner here, but the reason why pokemania took of in the 90s was because tajiri really was just trying to embody his childhood in this game, including secrets like mew. and it works because of it, coz kids could relate
    mew was always the hot topic at my school too back in the gen 1 days

  • @Terapagos3000
    @Terapagos3000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This was absolutely amazing. I love how Mew came to life thanks to contribution of so many people lol. From the idea of one, to the first form of one, to the perfectioning of another, to the personality of a whole other. And the result is undoubtedly amazing. The last metaphor made me emotional lol really warmed my heart.
    And the comparison to the original dragon is also pretty interesting to make yeah, even though the equivalent Mon to Mewtwo in those games is Genesect, which we also never saw the original form of, or really anything about his creation (unless I'm missing something, I don't remember them even showing anything about him in the movies). The original dragon will also surely exist one day.

    Fantastic Video, would love a sequel on Celebi!
    I knew about Mew's fateful effect on giving the franchise it's huge popularity through reading books on the series history, but I really appreciate this video's holistic attempt to track down all the designers and influences that made Mew in all of it's aspects. Learned some new things, and got a wholesome appreciation for a character's designer seeing his work further fleshed out and brought to life.
