Its Monday evening settled in bed and watching another brilliant case from you. These cases are so interesting love the older cases much more than the stories of today..... you make it even better your voice is so soothing. Keep up the brilliant work you do x
My heart was so sad for Auguste being rejected and betrayed from birth to the very end of his untimely death. My mother and father rejected me from birth and continue this rejection even now, and as a result my sisters have followed suit. I know how lonely and painful that feels. Poor Auguste.
O that’s terrible how any Parent can do that I just don’t understand. Please God you will have your own family one day and get all the love you deserve ❤💐❤️🙏
💙 i can relate to this as well. It's scary when you don't have a foundation yet and are still trying to figure yourself out, all without support and guidance. Try not to be too hard on yourself
Dear Kati-Ana, I'm in a the same situation so I know how you feel, but it's important that you understand this is on them not you. Some people are not fit or deserving to be called parents or sisters, as their special titles of value & meaning. Learn who you are & learn to value it. I suspect you've always been a better person even as a child than either your so called parents or sisters & their jealousy of you plays a sizable role in their abuse & abandonment. Please always remember who you are & who you can be one day
People think lightly and often joke about poisoning murder, but I believe it is amongst the most cruel. Digestive tract pain is absolute agony and little can be done to relieve it.
Neither a borrower nor a lender be. Very good advice. If you lose a friend because you won't loan them money, you would have lost them when they didn't ever pay you back, lol
@@lazyhomebody1356 Or when they keep taking from you. Yep. I lost a "friend" that way. At first they're very pitiable, but the more you do to help them, the more demanding they become and accusatory of you when you set limits.

You can understand his disappointment that a friend let him down and left him to pick up his debt, but then he got greedy and killed twice for money. Considering the times, it was decent enough detective work that got him caught and sentenced to death. Thanks for bringing us these older cases - they’re really interesting to hear about and keep me coming back to this channel, albeit erratically!
I eagerly look forward to these cases every week. The fact that a little backdrop regarding the geography and social norms and practices at the times make this channel amazing. Hello, my friend! I apologize for my absence…I’ve been embroiled in a move from hell. Wow he was in denial to the end! The court was just for once, in finding him guilty of the first murder, but of course with no evidence of poisoning in the second murder, they had to find him not guilty for that one! His conscience would have really been clear if he confessed !
What actually got him convicted of Auguste's murder wasn't actual physical evidentiary proof of the poisoning, but his insistence that the maid dispose of the vomitus. That was the one thing that could have proven the poisoning. As a Doctor, Edme understood this.
After watching so many of these videos, I realized that in a brief amount of time you give more information than some half hour long documentaries. Good job!

Good morning Well this case was all about money and greed but mostly on Auguste. After his brother died and found out that all of his money was going to his sister the first thing he did was pay someone to change the well and then he didn’t even pay the 100,000 francs he promised. I think the doctor just got in way over his head and because he didn’t have a lot of money again back then it was all about social status it seems like it to me.
