    Excellent as always Sean demonstration is! People are so easily understanding what these amazing 3 musical tools offer for the studio and stage that I can hardly recall myself a better clinician! Two thumbs up for both the gear and the man!

    Line 6 has come a long way. Great ideas and the modelling technology is really beginning to emulate classic sounds fairly realistically and musically.

    That guy could make a tennis racket sound better than my guitar.

    The "dream rig" is awesome. I bought it after watching and being impressed with the Andertons dream rig demo.

    Kevin, the electronics and hardware in the USA and Standard models are largely the same, so sonically there should be little difference.
    The USA guitars are laser cut via CNC and then hand-finished, while the Standard models are all hand cut and finished, which means that the Standard is actually more "handmade".
    This is Sean's personal guitar - the main one he uses for sessions and gigs - and yes, it's a USA model (I believe his other guitars are Suhrs, by comparison).
    Hope that helps.

    Sounds great - as always. Is it possible to get your patches from this video to check out please?

    Hey man, that's a variax, it's a guitar made by pod that emulates multiple guitars including i believe 2 acoustic models.. very cool axe.. All in the flick of a knob.

    Reading the comments here reminds me of the stories told of the Ludites. (The Luddites were 19th-century English textile workers (or self-employed weavers who feared the end of their trade) who protested against newly developed labour-economizing technologies, primarily between 1811 and 1816). Kinda sounds familiar.

    the one thing I'd ask... how do you make all that tech go wireless for larger stages?

  • @sirjaz1
    @sirjaz1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm wondering if I can replace the neck of this guitar with an actual james tyler neck.how about replacing the actual pickups with the michael Landau set? and keeping the variax electronics. would be ideal.

    Looks like a great rig for a live or session guitarist. I'll take my PRS and Fender for the same cost any day though. Digital is definitely becoming a serious contender.

    Thing is, we use Line 6, our frontman uses the old HD147 haha, just looking at advancing through gear as ours gets older but we all use wireless systems anyway so was wondering if moving to this stuff would render the wireless systems useless etc.

    I think for the most part the manufacturers realize that the average consumer for this sort of product is a hobbyist... That isn't to say this set up wouldn't be mighty handy on a good cover gig or in a studio situation where a client is using artist names to relay an idea... but the serious player already possesses tone in his hands, Allan Holdsworth? Eric Johnson? the sound is in the sentence structure, the phrasing... the musical syntax, if you already have that then this system would simply be a good novelty item.. altho I must say, the trem work on this clip and the legato playing that he's pulling off indicates a pretty high level of quality especially from the guitar itself... This guy has great chops... on tap...

      That amp has great basic tube sounds that are super high end tonal quality. Seems to be the best of both worlds, great tube tone mixed with some amp modeling technology. Why not have both at your finger tips

    I'm dubious of the rig, I feel that there is a subtle line wherein endless options actually inhibits creativity, but it sounds great and this guy is a boss on the guitar.

    sorry i think i didnt make my question clear .. i have the variax .. already .. :) jtv 86 .. and a pod hd 500 ... i just wanted to know the amps being used .. and fx he puts on ... cause no matter what i do .. my sound never comes out that good ..

  • @johnstca
    @johnstca 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cool concept, but i wish line6 would demo the amp+pod with tradiotional guitars more. I think the Variax is the weak link in this setup.

    Let me just get my megaphone out so we can argue nuance in standard youtube comment section fashion. I think all three of them would say it's a fun toy, and go back to playing their prs/fender/gibson through their mesa/fender/marshall. I'm glad line 6 finally figured out that you can never eliminate hardware from real tone though. No one said anything about acoustic BTW.

    I definitely see the virtue, I guess what I'm saying is that in my opinion it's better to have a strong individual character than to be a chameleon. Jimi didn't need 29 guitars and such, and you wouldn't bring a swiss army knife to a sword fight. But it depends what you're going for, studio musician or cover band, it would be great.

  • @SixStringHarmonies
    @SixStringHarmonies 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You made the silly mistake of expressing your opinion. Tsk, tsk....
    You're 100% right imo. There is a huge population of players who are only interested in the audiophile aspect of guitar playing. They would just as soon play keyboard had they been exposed to it.
    I had an epiphany one day, as I was kneeling on the floor tweaking pedal knobs. Most of my rehearsal time had devolved into spinning knobs instead of creating music. That day I decided less gear equals more time thinking about music.

    Jimi was Jimi. We are not Jimi. What he did worked for him..it may not work as well for us as we are not Jimi.
    I would warrant that had Hendrix survived he would have embraced technology and change, given that he really was at the vanguard of change anyway.

    Send me a link to your original music so I can bask in your greatness, or cease the incessant bloviating. Your sound and fury are echoing down the empty corridors of a sweetwater youtube comment section. Sad really.

    So for only $2899.97 I can play and sound like any guitarist on the planet?
    Look, I'm a Line6 fan and have a PodXT which I spent $250 on (including model packs) and has been very good to me for recording, but nearly $3k for an all digital rig that costs maybe a third of that to manufacture is a bit much for me. I'll stick with my Fender guitars and amps, plus a few choice pedals I guess.

  • @vracan

    Great Technology but I just can't get past the digital clipping that Line 6 puts out.

  • @SixStringHarmonies
    @SixStringHarmonies 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Obviously that is your view. They themselves would argue that they are, in fact, guitar players. Semantics aside, they exist and they drive a multi-million dollar gear market every year. They have zero interest into plugging a guitar straight into an amp. Unless, of course, the amp can make robot sounds and space noises independently.

  • @dkpv2012
    @dkpv2012 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sean and Line 6 need to be honest of what guitar he is demonstrating. The Korean $1399 model or the US model for almost $4k grand.
    Ameri-NaZionist deception knows no bounds and goes deep.

    You're dubious? lol
    If you cross the line with this rig, you'll probably cross it with another rig. The tools you use won't stop you from being productive as much as your mindset will. And a Swiss army knife is still one of the best tools on the planet. Bottom line, it beats lugging 29 guitars, 25 amps, and 100s of stomp boxes to a gig or studio!

    Why don't you just admit you're a non-contributor? That you really have no intriguing insight into the creative process because you have none of your own. That your swollen ego is just compensation for your creative failures. You clearly live in a world of polar absolutes, bereft of subtlety and nuance. Exclusivity above all else. Enjoy your black and white world.

    Has anyone ever told you you're incredibly crass? It limits your credulity. Furthermore, anyone who depends on such polar absolutes to prop up arguments is generally full of shit. I could give you plenty of examples of minimalists to reinforce this dichotomy, but why would I bother?
