Even though I am not a fan of Styro it is safe once it doesn't reach extreme high temps. and that would kill the plants anyway, it was definitely unsafe to heat it to cut it for sure though. the fumes are toxic. This video a good way to keep styro out of the dumps, especially in countries that still burn at their dumps.

The refill tube configuration seems to have potential algae and mosquito issues. I suggest a dark sleeve for preventing algae and a plug to prevent mosquitoes.

@Maybane...Interessante pelo que disse. Também fiquei intrigado pelo balde de água, que foi colocado no orifício da garrafa PET e já de imediato saindo lá embaixo !! Poderia ser aproveitada a mesma água. Ou algo que fizesse ficar dentro da caixa de isopor. Mas valeu pela idéia. Canal do TH-cam "Horta do Ditian" dá uma ótima idéia pra fazer com as caixas de isopor !!

Mình co mấy câu hỏi: (1) chỉ nên trông những rau nhẹ như xà lách và rau thơm chớ không nên trồng nhưng thứ như cây cà chua v.v. vì những cây lớn sẽ làm hư thùng foam mỏng manh phải khg ạ? (2) trung bình thùng này xài được bao lâu thì mới bỏ đi làm thùng mới? (3) anh dùng hỗn họp đất cát gì lúc đầu mình khg thấy rõ cho lắm? (4) trồng rau kiểu này một ngày phải tưới nước bao nhiêu lần? (5) sau khi cắt phần trên, rau có tự động mọc thêm cải mới khg? Xin cảm ơn.
bạn có thể trông các loại rau rễ chùm như rau cải xà lách... nước được đựng dưới đáy thùng vì thế bạn có thể tưới tuần 1 lần, mình sử dụng đất phù sa trộn cùng vỏ trấu ủ mục.

My wife receives diabetic medications in these boxes once a month. Talk to senior citizens. BTW, they also contain several ice packs.

Styrofoam contains styrene and benzene that are known to cause cancer, and immune disorders and birth defects. The chemicals leak out of the Styrofoam into the dirt and water into the plant. People do not understand. Thank you for trying to educate them. This is not ok !!!!

Why the elaborate bottom stuff? Just put a drainage hole, put a weed fabric inside box.. fill with dirt and plant seeds or seedlings? I like the white and lighter box for our hot summers here in AZ.
