Ocarina wont let you move on until you do exactly what the game wants you to do, in the exact way the game wants you to do it. In Botw, you can go anywhere, do anything, and do it any way you want. Im not sure how you dont see that.

The game requires the player to do certain things in specific order, and if the player doesn't know what to do, he/she cannot progress. I know its hard to understand for some people, because they beat the game 100 times over and have it all memorized like the back of their hand, but for people like me, the game is incredibly ambiguous.
Because in BoTW the answer to "what so i do now?" Is whatever you want to do. Where ocarina there is a specific set of things that must be done, so you can get stuck if you don't know what that thing is. Makes sense and just because YOU know what that is doesn't mean other players won't get stuck at times.

exactly why I like having a physical copy of a game. I don't have a wii u but I have a copy for my 3ds and of course my N64. I only get software titles when I don't care if I lose them at some point. Servers eventually shut down, sd cards eventually stop working..
Please talk about Crawl in your e shop series. It is a great party game where one player is the human and the others are the enemies I think you will love it :)

Even more interesting is if you play this mod with an Ocarina of Time Randomizer rom... many shenanigans to be had there. Setup takes a few more steps though. Also would allow you to choose your tunic colors or Randomize them, as well as a few other cosmetic options (Like Navi's various colors.)
To be fair to Bob, Ocarina of Time can be quite cryptic at times. I'm thinking of that Goron leader who only stops being a grump after you play Sara's song. I don't think there was much of a hint to do that. Me and my brother only stumbled on that solution by pure chance.
To be fair to the game, there is a Goron in Goron City who says Darunia likes music from the forest. While yes, the game doesn't tell you directly, I think what Nintendo had in mind was for the player to explore an area and figure out what to do next. Although I can't say the same about the Jabu Jabu fish feeding thing, that was downright obscure...
Platforming over the water near the store gives you 5 rupees every time you do it. It's the fastest way to farm rupees. And if it only works the first time. Just run in the store and then come back out. Then rinse and repeat. Also 10 (I think) rupees in the store if you try going around the counter
Ocarina of time is my ultimate favorite game. I still have the original on n64 and I couldn't tell you how many times I've played it! In fact if they brought it out again on switch I would buy it again, just like I did for DS
