haha funny you say that, i am not really want to get in to current/post WW2 politics or event like EVER in this channel, but yeah there is a trend that is keep repeating like a clockwork...
I think Hungary remained economically important despite occupation because nobels collect their "tax" in ottoman rulled terotores too. So who lived there, had to pay to both side.
well... yes and no. but this will be a topic of a follow-up video regarding the events and how the two country ended up forming the Monarchy. (also thank you for watching my video and leaving a comment 🙏) so bit of a spoiler (also as a "long story short") 😬: On 10 November 1526 John Zápolya was elected at the Diet at Székesfehérvár by the lesser nobles, he was crowned the next day as John I. In the meantime Archduke Ferdinand was also elected as a king by the magnates, barons, and the Catholic clergy in a Diet in Pozsony on 17 December 1526. Sooo both of them was elected by part of the nobles. However following year, in 1527, Ferdinand sent an army to Hungary which met the army of John I and Ferdinand won. As a result, Ferdinand was crowned in the Székesfehérvár on 3 November 1527. In 1528 John fled Hungary for Poland, then made an alliance with the Ottomans, agreed to make Hungary a vassal state to the Ottoman empire to regain his crown... jumping 10 years ahead, at the Treaty of Nagyvárad 1538, John I designated Ferdinand to be his successor after his death which happened soon so at this point Ferdinand was the only successor to the throne.

bro absurd, i am studing for modern history exam and this morning i was wondering to me "how the asburgs and their big chins had conquerest the hungary anf boemia?"....you are such in perfect time that you are scaring me
The Habsburgs did not want to understand one thing. The Hungarian crown symbolizes the Hungarian state. Anyone who wears the crown swears an oath to the Hungarian crown. No matter whose head it is on, he must serve the Hungarian state as a king. This is not taught in Western schools, only that the Hungarians are constantly rebelling. "Heavy is the head that wears the crown."
The Anchluss should have taken place in 1866 after the Austro-Prussian War. Prussia/Germany annexing Austria would have made more sense than Austria annexing Hungary.
thank you for watching my video and sharing your opinion! and here shall i raise mine :) Austria was not a state with only German speakers nor was small to be annexed by Prussia/Germany so that was never an option. the 1866 war was about to establish which German state will be the leader of the German realm, not about expansion. On the other hand, Hungary was giving way too much trouble to Austria and was way too big to try to annex it, hence they had to realise that as they lost the leading role for the German states, they had to solve the issues inhouse and settle with Hungary hence the Compromise of 1867/68 happened which led to the "Golden Age of the Monarchy" as we call it.
@@HistoricalHavocHub yeah, Austria joining Germany only makes sense in the context of a fully German Austria with no Emperor and no ethnic minorities in its territory. Which is exactly what they tried to do the nanosecond this happened after WW1. The Entente said "no" and then, again, in the exact nanosecond Germany could annex Austria without repercussions, they accepted it.
@@samuelleandro2275 Those Protestant militarists up north ended up scraping Austria's beans of the griddle for them. As far as multiethnicity goes, the fate of Austria-Hungary should warn anybody with a brain in their head that diversity does not make a nation stronger.

John Szapolyai is John I, the freely elected King of Hungary and not only "the new leader". Ferdinand I was not the legitime ruler of Hungary.

Ferdinand was elected by the Croatian nobility while the Ivan Zapolja was elected by the hungarians.

Imagine thinking that the Habsburgs of all people have the military might to conquer anyone let alone Bohemia and Hungary lol

Yeah then they would just abandon their centuries old multiethnic Empire to unite with some protestant militarists to the North, right?
@@samuelleandro2275 yeah i dont think anyone on the Austrian side would have celebrated this idea...
