Yeah, the diction is pretty awful in this one lol. It’s mainly because I wanted my vocals to sound very ethereal and luscious so I added a crap ton of reverb, chorus, and quiet backup vocals. I personally think that makes the song sound better than if it had better diction and the vocals sounded more plain and boring. Especially with this type of song which is very dreamy and trippy and the slurred vocals helps make the song sound more relaxing which is what I was going for. Of course, there’s also a skill issue and laziness component here as well. I’m a noob singer and producer and I don’t like to spend more than a week making a song since it makes songwriting less fun for me. So, I have to make a lot of compromises with my mix lol.
