That was the Tack Room. Saddles go on those things, the blankets up on the shelf, and the bridles and leads and halters all hang there below. Guessing that one lil house with the fireplace was the ranch hand bunk house. Pretty nice spread, bet it was hopping back in the day of ya could get a job there. ✌️
Hi k6lsn, Tack room makes more sense, I should've known that😂. It is a beautiful place to see. it felt like an oasis in the desert. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
Thank you Randy! You took me someplace I haven't been surprisingly. Now I know where I'm going soon. Your videos always bring me pleasure and nostalgia.
Hi Karen, Thank you for letting me know, There are lots of the racks so that must have been used when it was a dude ranch for visitors back in the day. Thanks again and have a wonderful day!
Hi Bkrafter, It was a very informative tour and they are making a good effort to maintain the building for others to come and see history. Thanks for sharing and have an great week!
Randy, super cool this time. My wife actually watched a few minutes with me, not something she does. Thanks for sparking her interest. She saw a couple of your beautiful photos too. Thank you for all the photos. Loved all of them, thinking my favorite was probably the lookout tower with the sunlight. Please do not stop adding your amazing photos.
Hi Carl, Thank you for the compliments. It was a very nice visit to someplace I haven't been to before and hope to get back to do some hiking. I'm glad your wife was able to get a couple minutes in. Thanks again for all your support and have a wonderful day. Randy
I like your amazement at the views. So do we. We know Pearce Az and the Stronghold. Cool, neat, checking this out, and more are all very folksy, endearing phraseology. Could be your trademark! I wouldn't suggest you change a thing. Great video. Check everyday. Thanks
Hi brnrsky, Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I kinda get lost in the moments and say what I feel. Thanks again and have a good day!
Absolutely amazing Shakespeare town guide what a character real genuine guy loved it I'm from London England and want to visit Arizona and the south west yeah definitely tack room saddle racks we have them to and still in use
Hi Karen, Make sure to get the tour in if you get to New Mexico, you won't be disappointed. Wow London! Big difference in the weather here😄 Some of my favorite photographers are from England. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
😂 Ringing the dinner bell, if the ghosts didn’t know you were there, they do now! Those look like where they keep their saddles up off the floor on. I have not been there, so this will be added to my bucket list. NM, you are entering where I was born and raised. The owner of Steins was murdered I think in 2012. I don’t think his murder has been solved. There was talk that his children were going to reopen, but every time I go by it has been closed. The owner was Larry Link. I don’t know if you have made it back home or not, but if not, there is a place called the Adobe Deli. It is east of Deming. It’s a bar and restaurant. It is in an old elementary school. The place is a must see and the food and service is fantastic. They say ghosts haunt it, but it is really a neat place to visit.
Hi Dwilliams, I am back home now but thank you for all the great info. Hopefully Steins will reopen someday, it looks like a great place to tour. Now that you mention the saddle racks it makes much more sense than my theory😂Thanks again for sharing and have a great week!
Hi Sharon, There were some that explained how they were eroded by the weather over millions of years. It was an awesome place to see. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day!

I'm late to the party but I love the video... New Mexico is a special place, it's still mostly empty with tiny towns and the occasional ghost town ...... I didn't get the name of your guide but he did a great job and I do like his style with that hog-leg...... Looking forward to your next video
Thanks Kajunguy, Better late than never🙂 I was only in NM for a short distance but enjoyed what I did see. If you ever take the Shakespeare tour you can see the rest of his collection. That was one of the things he didn't want filmed. It was a nice collection. Thanks for sharing and we'll see ya on the next one!
Enjoyed the video! Really liked seeing Shakespeare ghost town. I did some research and there is free camping at the Veterans Park according to Campendium reviews from April of 2024...
I could type on and on after each video. It may be a good thing I don't take notes... Also wanted to mention the guided tour was really neat. Did you have to pay for this?

Hi Jane, Thanks for letting us know about the camping at the park. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week!
those unusual racks that you thought werre for roosting chickens, were used to hole sadles when not in use.
Hi Richard, Thank you for letting me know. That makes total sense now that you point it out 🙂Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
I could type on and on after each video. It may be a good thing I don't take notes... Also wanted to mention the guided tour was really neat. Did you have to pay for this?
It was a $30 minimum since I was the only one on the tour. It is only $15 per person if there are more. Well worth it! See ya on the next one.
The wood racks you asked for help were horse Saddle Racks.
