Am glad to find your channel. Lifetime camper, bought a camp tow behind 2 years ago. Was in Quartzsite for the first time just last winter ( from Annapolis Md.) Was QM 3, DE 1048, and SSBN 620.
Good morning Wes, Thank you for your service! My great grandpa was a submariner during WW 1. Quartzsite was a unique place to grow up in. I'm glad people are still making the trek out there. Thanks for sharing and safe travels.
Great tour of the camp areas! I really appreciate how you were respectful of both the people out camping and locals in the area. I can imagine that as much as the locals appreciate the revenue from tourists, it has to take a toll on their privacy and sense of peace.
Those small tents you saw while driving thru the camp areas, those are site holders. It means the site is in use. Not all camper people have an extra vehicle or motorcycle attached to their rigs, and when they need to make a quick run for supplies the tent holds their site for them. Although, there are camper people who still use tents on a regular basis and does not mean there is nobody at the site at the time!
My mother in law Pauline and husband Lew moved to Quartzsite 45 or 50 yrs ago, lived year round in a little house/big lot behind Roadrunner Mkt. on Cowell. Visited w/them 4 times over the yrs in 2000's. He passed and she moved in with another son in CA, a lady (neighbor and friend) Barbara bought their place. My husband passed 2016, now am retired/making a 2018 chev express passenger van 3500 into camper, maybe I'll see Quartzsite again. Love hearing about it from a local. Happy Trails🤙
Hi Anita, Back in the day, the Roadrunner and General store were the only stores in town. I remember going in and getting a Babyruth for a quarter. Good times! Sorry to hear about your husband. Sounds like you have a plan for some nice travels in the near future. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week!
Thank you so so much...I won't be able to afford $600. For la Posa next year....but I love Quartzsite for the winter....this is my 4th year to enjoy this very special place and all the nice people I meet.
😂👍 Gracias for the ride along tour and aerial views of the (Hwy 10 & I 95) area BLM camping areas and public parks. I can’t wait to get out there 🏕🚐💃✨ w/ this video 😂 I’ll have ideas on where to go and I won’t get lost in that vicinity 👀😂
I'm definitely a new subscriber and a fellow SEABEE first I was shocked to find your page a Californian by birth I too enjoyed the Quartzsite lifestyle I purchased a new class C but have not built up the nerves to make the visit.
Hi RvRiding. Thanks for the sub and your service! I was stationed in San Diego (North Island) for two years. So much to do and enjoyed my time there. Hope you make it to Quartzsite sometime to enjoy the winter visitor experience. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
Awesome! I'm an old time Quartzsite winter camper from Phoenix. I took a day trip today (11/09/2024) to check out my old campsite I'll soon be visiting here and there during the winter season (Scadden Wash Area). Question: Who has better meats; Roadrunner or Coyote, or somewhere else? I always shop in Phoenix and bring food with me to camp, but, if I can support local businesses, I'll start shopping Quartzsite for my grillin & chillin dinners. Filets/pork chops/chicken thighs, preferably. And, how's the Mexican food choices in town? Who has the best chorizo breakfast burritos and the best carne asada lunch burritos? I might be back next weekend for a weekend camping trip, so, thank you in advance with any recommendations. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
Hi Pete, Coyote fresh and the road runner each have their own butchers. The hamburger at coyote is good. As far as mexican choices I like the fish tacos at Taco Mio. There are also a couple of pretty good food truck options as well. I didn't make it to the Scadden wash campground, much to my chagrin. Hope that helps and have a great week!
@SeabeeTraveler Thank you, I'll go to Coyote for ground beef... I make pretty good burgers on the grill. And, I know where Taco Mio is and will give them a try for lunch.
We have been camping out there numerous winters also but mostly way out in the mountains where there was nobody else. But we have an All Terrain Warrior 4x4 camper made by Sportsmobile and we can get to places most people can't. Thanks for taking us back Seabee! We've camped in Wyoming past few winters on our property. Subbed & liked.
Hi MMOverlandAdventures. Thanks you for the sub! I appreciate the support. Sounds like you're set up nice. Wyoming in winter sounds cold though🙂 Thanks for sharing and have a good day!
Another awesome video! Thanks for sharing where you grew up. I grew up in a small town called SilverBell .About 30 miles from Marana. Sadly it is mostly a ghost town now. The mine is still there but nothing else..I was wondering have you ever been to Havasu falls? It looks so beautiful.
Last time i was out there (2019) i was primitive camping. I remember patiently waiting for the warmth of the morning sun, only to have it taken away by cloud seeding.
Just interested in knowing if it would be worthwhile bringing my three wheel Can-Am spider out there if we go camping. It’s definitely not an off-road vehicle, but would there be other places to go check out? Thinking about going there when the RV show is going on. Thanks for your videos and response!😊
Hi Flyingfletchers, You should be ok to bring out the Spider, Most of the camping locations and sites are on dirt roads but they are pretty well maintained. There are some cool sites like the abandoned Gold eye mine just southwest of town, Hi Jolly tomb which is in town. There is a museum in town as well. In the peak season there is usually quite a bit of traffic so a smaller vehicle has it's advantages, for travel and parking around the shows. Hope that helps and have a great week!
Hi Dave, I wouldn't charge for it. If you have a way for me to email it to you I could do that. Thanks and have a good day! My email is Seabeetraveler@gmail.com
Thanks for the info brother! I am heading that way to volunteer with Howard for the rtr and I don't want to pay to stay as that defeats the purpose of my style of vanlife.
Just a heads up I was camped next to a person last year who liked playing with his drone in the ltva, quite a bit. He got a warning from a ranger that drones and aircraft are not allowed on the ltva property. He continued anyway and got caught and had his permit revoked for the year. Just thought you should know. Yeah I know, people do it all the time. Just be aware it's technically against the rules.
Thank you great tour. I’ve never been to Q before. Planning on coming down this year. How much does it cost for 14 days, and where would you pay for your permit? Sorry new to this
Hi Marion, If you are only staying for 14 days you can stay at the dispersed camping areas for free. If you want to stay at the LTVAs 14 days is $40. There are hosts at the main entrances where you can pay. You can pay online as well. Hope that helps and have a good day.
There's two great discount stores with healthy dog and cat food. I don't mean family dollar type. They are stores that bring in food from Costco or other places that might be a little outdated. Kenny's has a store in back where everything is only one dollar
Where do your parents and siblings live now? We have never been to the Quartzsite area yet. After watching this. We will do a day trip from Kingman. Thank you
Hi Lisa, To get a State Trust permit in Arizona, you need to purchase a "Recreation Permit" from the Arizona State Land Department (ASLD) online or in person at their office. Hope that helps and have a great day!
Hi Teresa, These dispersed sites don't have any amenities. The LTVAs around town have public restrooms, sewer dumps and access to water. Just not at the individual sites. They are pretty much off grid campsites. I'll be putting another video about the Long Term Visitor Areas soon. Hope that helps and have a great day!
Hi Edward, the problem with winter camping in Quartzsite is that there are so many people camping out in the desert. You would have to get quite a ways to be able to camp and shoot safely. I was told there is an unofficial shooting range about 6 miles north of town the locals use, but I've never been there. Hope that helps and have a good day!
Hi WizardTom, much to my chagrin, I have no excuse for not getting out there. I hear it's nice and will be back in Quartzsite the near future. I'll make a point to get out there. Thank you for the question and have a wonderful day.
I do not like to cook. I wish quartzite had more fast food like Havasu and a big groc store to get easier food to fix. I am tired of going to Havasu with all the rich and side by sides. I want a place in AZ where it is quieter and not all that dust and noise.
Hi mycocoaone, I know what you are saying... but, there are quite a few food trucks in town during the winter months that compete against the chain fast food places. Also there is a DG market that opened recently on the east end of town. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
Hi Robert, Thank you for reminding me. The best locations for service are at La Posa North, or the Plamosa & Scaddan dispersed camping areas. Thanks again and have a great day!
Hi all, Check out my top 10 Quartzsite videos from the last 12 months:

Great tour 👍. It must be very heart warming to return to the town of your youth. To see all the changes. Love the drone footage 👍. Beautiful views 👍
Hi Najruqwi, It is good to get back and see old friends and the sites. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
Great tour of the camp areas! I really appreciate how you were respectful of both the people out camping and locals in the area. I can imagine that as much as the locals appreciate the revenue from tourists, it has to take a toll on their privacy and sense of peace.
Thank you Roseanna, Growing there I understand how Quartzsite lives in symbiosis with the winter visitors. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

Hello Jeannette, I haven't been to Havasu falls yet, but it definitely has my attention. Thanks for the tip and have a wonderful day!
@SeabeeTraveler Thank you! Yes if you go please do share it with us! I think you would like the hike too 😊
@@jeannettefreeman9023 Will do. Since it's on the reservation, I'll have to see what rules they have for videos. Thanks again!
Nice video looking forward to your next when you come back for when it is busier.
Thank you Tyman, I'm looking forward to it as well. Have a good day.
Great video.
Thank you! Have a good day.
Great video. Looking forward to a video in January, curious about campsite availability during the peak season.
Thank you Ron! I am looking foward to that as well. It is a big difference during that time. Thanks again and have a good day!
Last time i was out there (2019) i was primitive camping. I remember patiently waiting for the warmth of the morning sun, only to have it taken away by cloud seeding.
This time of year it might take a minute to warm things up out there. Thanks for sharing NewLife and have a good day!

Thanks for the heads up Reuben. I tried to stay away from any campers. Have a great day!
What years did you grow up here? Just passed thru going to palm springs from arizona.
@stevenbarnes8238 I was there from 1976 to 1985. Safe travels to Palm Springs.

if u rent a box for your mail, can u use it to get your drivers liscense.
I don't think so Brian. You'll need documents to prove your physical address. Hope that helps and have a good day!

Hi Tommy, that would be a tough winter. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

I all way want to visit Arizona but scared to drive from Indiana
It is a bit of a drive, but it's worth it. Hope you make is someday. Have a great day!
why did you skip Scaddan?
Hi WizardTom, much to my chagrin, I have no excuse for not getting out there. I hear it's nice and will be back in Quartzsite the near future. I'll make a point to get out there. Thank you for the question and have a wonderful day.

You just can't fly at rc park without registration (insurance).
VERY COOL..IS GRUBSTEAK STILL IN BUSINESS?
Hi desertraider, Unfortunately it's closed down for good. Which is a shame, because I never got to try it out. Have a great day!
I got to High Jolly on the 3rd and there was only 2 or 3 campers here. The last few days they have been steadily coming in.
Hi James, Thanks for sharing the update. I can't wait to get back there in the near future. Have a great day!

Miscifmaker, I wonder about that too. There are ranger out there though. Have a good day!
You didn't mention how the cell service is at these campgrounds☎️📵
Hi Robert, Thank you for reminding me. The best locations for service are at La Posa North, or the Plamosa & Scaddan dispersed camping areas. Thanks again and have a great day!
Like Az weather but not the dust.
Hi Karen, I agree 100%. At least in the winter months. Have a wonderful day
What/who was that?!?! 🤣
Hi Steve, He's one of the many wonders of Quartzsite that make it unique.🙂 Have a good day!
