    I’m a fanboy for this era Poulan saws . Really enjoyed this video and all the information and timing numbers.

      I really like them too. Truly underrated saws.

    By your measurements here… they lowered the transfers on 3750… increasing the blowdown, while keeping exhaust roof the same…? And, they lowered the intake floor to increase intake duration…

    3500 & 365 are both 60cc the 3450 & 3750 have a larger intake boot and carburetor.

    I personally don’t think there is a difference between the 3750 and super 380 cyls, the part number is the same for both saws. I wouldn’t of thought there was a difference between the 365 and the 3750 but with the intake differences, it makes sense.

    I love this!!! So exciting!! After playing with those little 2150s I'm sold on the Poulan stuff. I would love to get my hands on some of the larger saws at some point. I like the look of the cylinder designs, very simple and straight forward.

    i wonder how accurate they machined the basses , i have a ms250 that has more compression than most other saws i have,it will pull the rope out of your hand , i have a old 3400 i just ported cous it was givin to me ,the squish wo gasket was over 50 the ex was 98 wo gasket , i was going to remove base but i didnt think i could keep it flat , the intake was 67 ,these are all degrees on timing wheel, i removed damage on the ex and ended on 96, lowered the in ,some the bigest thing to me was the ex and air intake restriction, driled2 holes between the bolts 5/16. and put holes in the filtercover above the triger without cutting the part holding the filter down , figured it would blowup when i started it ,the saw just rips,and the guy was just going to toss it

    Are you wearing a MOPAR watch, jesus, such a nerd. BTW, considering looking for a Cummins Dodge 3500, will probably buy a GMC Sierra Duramax though....

      I don't have a MOPAR watch!! Those big desiels are crazy powerful, but my old HEMI has more power than I need, so I'll just stick with it.

    For you it's so exciting because you are infact a " chainsaw junkie" which is absolutely legal and totally fine but somewhere within is a slight potential of making you literally want to reenact certain scenes from "the Texas chainsaw massacre" for a mere smutting during discussions with fellow chainsaw enthusiasts just letting them know that you understand what the fear on a mans face looks like and that wheelchairs of the 60's-70's aren't made for deep brush weather it be for a harmless stroll or a matter of life or death ...... Those damn wheelchairs ain't made for Texas country son, especially when there's some cannibalistic guntur who undeniably never been to school never had a girlfriend and they never seen the movie Old yeller running about with a damn chainsaw on his hand looking to get you! Hell , that ain't nothing but a peppercorn !

    Used chainsaws growing up and still do today. Not a pro by any stretch. Just landowner and heat my house with firewood. Last few months I have really gotten into my powersaws as far as how they work and I find it all fascinating. This video is so good. Taught me a lot. Good stuff!

    Yesterday I picked up a way above average McCulloch 7-10 automatic for $50! I'm guessing for as old as it is it was barely used and I say that due to the bar still had lettering on it along with other things I look for . Scratched yes but just assuming..... and it was a pretty ritzy neighborhood where I got. Just my own theory. Thing is an absolute 70.5cc BEAST! I've never owned a saw big like this one but can tell it means business!

    So wait did you measure the total length of the cylinders Wouldn’t it be possible that they dropped the Bace by .020k and indeed raise the exhaust to get back to there roof number. ??? Maybe I’m not thinking strait this morning. Love these videos 🙏

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anything is possible, but it looks to have been casted this way.

    • @ScrewdriverTUNING
      @ScrewdriverTUNING 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I figure casting a shorter Bace would be much easier then changing all the ports. The measurement from squish band to the top of the exhaust or total cylinder length will tell you/us. Sometimes I come off the wrong way to ppl I’m trying to change. Hope your week is a great one. !!

    What would be interesting is to see if the ported 365 is the same or more powerful than the 3750. I’d like to see the 3750 decked and compared. Just sayin🤷🏻‍♂️ lol

    You sir are a saw expert but one question I do have one of those salem master 6220 love it but that 25 to 1 ratio is strange could you run a regular 50 to 1 in those saws or even that premix fuel?

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. Use whatever mix you usually use and then tune for it. I run 40:1.

    • @cameronlamb7274
      @cameronlamb7274 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mix ratio on older saws is generally for SEA 30 motor oil I’m guessing it’s the same for Chinese saws maybe their oil is not up to the same standards. I run 32 to 1 with modern conventional 2 stroke oil(non synthetic) in everything and tune my equipment to it
