Willie fighting his coat sleeve is like me racing to work in the mornings hahaha he may have not liked his role in this series but he’s such a huge part of what made this show amazing! RIP Max Wright
I agree with you. Alf actually brought out the best in the Willie character, and made him more endearing. Max Wright was great in this role, and really showed his talent.
Facts. He was the perfect straight man, with greatly timed retorts to ALF's antics, and who could also get hilariously erratic. He said ALF had all the great lines, but his lines are just as important. Without him, the bounce back and forth wouldn't be as funny.
Good wholesome family content for tv well maybe not all but way better than what they show on tv today! We need to get back to having tv shows like this again on tv bring families together again and with more comedy ! The good ole days! Bring back ALF to tv ! Need a revival of good tv programs again!
Holy cow...that slimeball just brought ke back to my youth! I totally forgot about this episode until I saw a breakdown on the making of this episode! Time to go back in time ❤
I love how 80s TV wasn’t afraid to occasionally scare you to death, lol. And often with such minimal yet clever effects and camera angles. Not to mention unsettling music.
"Alright go... first Kate and the kids, now you... I feel like the pretty little virgin" I don't know why but for some reason that part got me good that I just can't keep a straight face about knowing that sometimes that line right there almost sounds like a typical fantasy cliche for wayward princesses/maidens from all kinds of stories both in literature and cinema of which I can vaguely understand myself
Probably not many lol I’m not even 30 but glad to at least know it’s a reference to her role in Alien. Basically the whole Episode is a play on the movie
The bathroom scene has some hilarious lines. "Whoever built these doors ought to be horse whipped." "Occupied!" "No one's ever told me where these things lead." 😂😂😂
The irony is that FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT had a lot of bodyguards when he said that so yeah. Gordon Shumway formerly known as ALF was right. I wish I could meet ALF because I would share my Slim Jim snacks with him as he told me stories of his life and those he loved on Melmac before it exploded and during his time after before he landed on Earth and those he loved here on Earth because it would be a good way for us to get to know each other because I would tell him about myself and about those I love on the earth and about the one who created it too so Gordon Shumway formerly known as ALF can know more about me and the LORD God in heaven as well.
Did you know that the writer of this episode, one Jerry Stahl, was a drug addict at the time. A severe addiction to heroin and coke. He came in one day super high and pitched the idea of A GIANT SPACE COCKROACH THAT SEND ALF INTO THERAPY! At 1st the producer thought he was nuts but then realized "Hey, that could work"! When the writer asked how long the script should be they jokingly said "Oh... 90, 95 pages". The writer then went home, did an obnoxious amount of drugs and wrote a 100 page episode. When he brought it in they were shocked! I mean a normal episode is about 45 pages lol! 😂 So the writer had to go back and cut out half. He had written about alf's fear of bugs and how he had to get therapy and everything. To bad it all got cut out. So this entire episode is just a drug induced fever dream by an addict writing about confronting his addiction. FACTS! 😂 th-cam.com/video/PNN3k2I9dzw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oqGzqAnEkixpMuG0
I remember that episode of Alf from my childhood in the late 80s. It's just funny memories, but I was still scared of the cockroach that almost killed Alf. Alf is one of the best shows running back then.
This is one of my favorite episodes of the show. Also, ALF remains one of my favorites series. Too bad they don´t make shows like this one. However, i hoped they hadn´t edited the episodes because this one misses some small scenes. It may not see much, but too me the episodes of this show are better as they where when they passed on TV: complete and unedited.
Wrong. I’ve seen the 24 minute raw version of this episode. When alf says “Ofcouse it does, it’s a roach” Lynn says, “Alf, Roaches don’t have blues eyes they have, I don’t know”.
Another part that was heavily edited was the part with the exterminator asking is it a pet? There’s only one roach?, willie saying it’s a special roach, Alf saying “did you warn him?” And my favorite “Oh, I’m sorry I left my heat seeking missile in the car”.
I love Alf the things he says will Drive anyone Mental and his favorite opponent is no one outher then Kate Tanner and there next door neighbor Miss Arckmonic
Love this show! Unfortunately, these are the US DVD edited episodes that have minutes trimmed from the shows. The European DVDs have the full episodes.
"Youre comparing me to a cockroach?" No wonder with some of best lines conceived for tv show ever, Max Wright disintegrated as a human. Paul Fusco was simply alphamaling him.
i wonder what would happen in Alf s fictional universe if the government found the cockroack s corpse, i guess they would find the way to weaponize it.
at 10:36 Willie suggests to kill The cockroach using boric acid Then ALF says: "Oh, yeah that is what they used on the Jaffees", but if you turn on captions they say "Oh, That is what they used on the Japanese" That needs to be fixed , deaf people might find it weird. 💀
No I've never heard the expression "Her eyes are as blue as a roaches." But sadly enough, if a rapper said it in a lyric, just like crap thrown against a wall, it'd stick.
That episode terrified me as a child! I may overthink now but what should they do with the roach corpse now? How do you get rid of that without taking any risk? Who knows what may happen to animals that may take a bite off this monster.
In this episode Willie questions Alf when he names the cockroach after his brother "Rodney" however in another episode Willie's brother visits and has the name of Neil. However in yet another episode Willie makes it clear that his father only had two sons so therefore he can't have two different brothers.
The first season was the best Thanks for the upload !!
Alf - I didn't want to upset Kate.
Willie - What is it that would upset Kate?
Me - At this point what DOESN'T upset Kate?
Lol we don’t need exterminators we need sigourney weaver ! Now that was FUNNY 😄 ❤❤!!!
Love Alf so much.
ALF needs to get a reboot ASAP.
When my daughter was 3 we enjoyed watching Alf, I got her a talking Alf like the teddy ruxspin one…

Besides, my Grubby doll was way more evil than any Ruxpin.
The quality of the tapes was lower than the Ruxpin line, and there was less articulation.

‘Old blue eyes is back’ 😂

Alf - anything he wants to.
