The look on Samantha's face when she opened the door and saw Joanna Mills was absolutely priceless! She thought that she had killed the woman, but obviously she failed! Jealousy seems to be rampant in Dark Shadows. ~Janet in Canada
Was Kathryn Leigh Scott originally intended to play Samantha before she decided to leave the series? It would have been interesting to see her in this role. Also: Lee Beery has perfect pitch! that is really cool.
Yes, the role of Samantha Collins was originally meant for Kathryn Leigh Scott. This would have been her first villainous role on the series. But, I think Virginia Vestoff did an excellent job as Samantha. It was for the best not to see Scott as a villain. Also, how ironic would it had been to have Scott play two characters that fell to their deaths from Widows' Hill, the other, of course, being Josette.
Excellent excerpts get us to the heart of the story and confrontation. You know how to choose them well. I think this storyline, despite its many inconsistencies, was a bold leap forward for DS and the writers. I LOVED the court room scenes where Barnabas is acting as attorney. Such flair and such a different aspect JF presented for Barnabas. Love it to bits!
The actress who played the insane Joanna Mills acted in the style of Ophelia when Ophelia found out that her father was murdered in the play entitled Hamlet.
That look on Charles Dawson's face as the court rules in favor of Quentin is priceless.

I love seeing Barnabas as a defense attorney 👍
Agree! How I wish this part of him would have continued on if the series continued.
Yes I agree he would make a great defense attorney.
I love the way that guy speaks.
VERY interesting episode
Wow, there was an argument between Samantha & Joanna Mills over Quentin. Samantha accidentally made her fall off the cliff.

I have been waiting 💋 thank u
The court room scenes held me as much as those of "The Crucible" do.

@@LIBERTUPASTORBEY Thanks. I did love Virginia Vestoff very much. She left us far too soon.

Kudos to the person excerpting this.
Why did so many people always stand so close to the precipice?
The look on Charles Dawson's face, 3:18, inspired me to exclaim: "Curses! Foiled, again!" ~Janet in Canada
I love dark shadows thank you
Powerful scenes between James Storm & Virginia Vestoff.
