    The left lane hogs aren't the only problem. I see many drivers that will speed up 5mph or more when you go to pass them, which means you have to decide if you want to accelerate even more, or slow down and get back in the right lane. When you slow down to get back in the right lane, they go back to their previous slow speed. Sometimes I've gone through this loop like 3 or 4 times before deciding to accelerate faster while passing to get away from the dangerous driver.

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah I hate that game. They’ll cut you off and drive slower and the moment you try to pass them on the right they suddenly want to keep a tight gap on the car in front of them and once you get back behind them it’s a brake check game.

    *I don't think it's so much to do with giving out tickets, but it needs to be spread out on the news and reported like it's actual news so it reaches a widespread of audience that left lane is for passing on the highways. The news is constantly "educating" people speed kills whenever there is some accident reported in the news. But there's no platform out there to educate the mass about left lane hogging.*

    • @cm7429
      @cm7429 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It needs to carry a hefty, mandatory fine and jail time for multiple offenses - then the tickets mean something and will be reported on the news. Additionally, law enforcement needs to spend at least a year focusing on pulling over every single car they spot - and not just on interstates and highways. In Florida, they are trying to expand it to all multiple-lane roads. That's the only thing that will make the word spread so that people will know it's against the law. Breaking this law can kill people - just like drunk driving can - so criminalize it like drunk driving. Is that extreme, you bet it is because it's a dangerous crime. It's against the law now and no one knows it

    I have driven in Germany, it is illegal to pass on the right on the Autobahn, so people will have to speed up in the left lanes or obstruct traffic. Also they have unlimited speed limits over most of the Autobahn. If your are in the left lane and someone comes ujp behind you you move over and if you come up behind someone they have to move over. Here in Germany most traffic on the Autobahn travels between 75 - 125 mph. Occasionally some are even faster. Speed is not the problem.
    Drivers know how to use the proper lanes, just like this guy is talking about. Using proper lanes works well. It keeps the highway orderly and clear. Therefore higher speeds are possible and more safe.
    The most important issue though is driver training. The US has a pathetic program for training drivers. In Germany it takes 6 months to a year to get your license and it cost around €2000. You screw up driving you can have your license revoked. Thats a lot of time and money gone pkus the inconvenience of now using yhe bus or train for going everywhere.

    All accidents caused by drivers who are too entitled to be in passing lane due to drivers wrecking trying go around them or chain reaction should be fined, suspended, and their insurance should pay. Yesterday I had a driver get mad at me for passing them in the left lane, and yeah sure I could a little close but I didn't want to rear end the car in the middle lane. I care less about the car I got in front of closely because they were in the lane for miles and and would not move over.

      I also agree 100% about how driving fast around traffic is safer than being around drivers who can't drive or have phones in their hands. I do about 75-80mph. The problem is because will check up, constantly change speeds and such. My Ram 1500 is a V6 and it has plenty of power to get around stupid drivers. The mpg gets killed when I have to decelerate and accelerate constantly on the freeway vs a steady flow and steady speed I get over 20mpg.

    It's a huge problem in Texas as well. Even on highways with signs saying" SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT". I see state troopers, local cops, camping in the left lane as they drive past these signs? Maybe these idiots don't know the definition of "slower traffic". I've heard, "I'm doing the speed limit". Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. Signs should say" DRIVE ON THE RIGHT ANYTIME YOU ARE NOT PASSING SOMEONE". And if in the left lane either pass all the cars on the right or pull over to the right. Most Texas drivers don't have a clue what this is about. They apparently don't notice or care how traffic gets backup when someone is being approached from the rear and they are camped in the left lane, causing drivers to dart right left, right left to clear them. Learn from Germany. One thing that makes German drivers so different from American drivers is that in Germany driving in an earned privilege, whereas in America drivers think it is a RIGHT, with no need to display any knowledge. I blame the states DOT for not having more requirements to drive. Like knowing what your doing as it effects others.

    Honestly the carpool lane is mostly responsible for this crap. You go back and forth from carpool to left lane and so youve got this slew of very inactive, inattentive drivers who try like hell to never change lanes, and in a lot of cases shouldnt be driving at all because they lack the skill for it. People are annoyingly oblivious, they have no idea youre behind them, and if they do half the time they dont care, "uhhh go around" or some shit... But no, thats more dangerous. We shouldnt be forced to pass from the right (passing blind because we are driver left side in the US), and by blocking the lane youre literally making the drive less safe for EVERYONE on the roadway.
    Dont make yourself someone else's problem, stay out of each other's way and youll die of old age without ever getting in a fight.. or make your life and everyone elses harder than they need to be. Your call i guess.

  • @Bug13
    @Bug13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It seems like most of these drivers are oblivious to the rear view mirror and never even look into it or think it's used to check how they look before they drive off and that's it. It's getting even worse now with Tesla drivers and auto pilot engaged, since they completely don't care what is happening while they chit chat amongst themselves or check their email while the car is doing all the driving, make sure that auto pilot disengages when you pull in front of them so they have to go back to paying attention to driving.

    LOL!! Most people need to know that every city and state has different rules about this!!
    But the problem I have with calling most drivers in the left lane "campers" is the speed limit for those roads!!
    So if the speed limit is 55mph and most drivers maybe doing 65mph which IS over the speed limit and some idiots come up behind and want to do 75-85mph does not mean the 65mph driver is camping in that lane!!
    Plus those drivers going 20+?mph over the speed limit stay in that lane and DO NOT move over to the NON- PASSING lane!!
    So the driver who is supposedly going slow and camping is trying to be a speed cop??
    But the ones who say that are trying to be speed cops also!!☹️☹️🤬🤬😁
    I personally do not believe in the left lane being a passing lane!! And those not moving out of it being a danger to others!!
    I believe those who are speeding in the left lane are WAY MORE dangerous do to the FACT that by speeding EVERYONE 'S Reaction time is way less!!
    And driving to FAST or unsafe for condition's IS the Number one cause of accidents!! I have NEVER heard of driving the speed limit or 10mph over being the cause of a LOT of accidents!!
    And if you get angry at someone driving slower than YOU like, then IT IS YOUR PROBLEM!! NOT THE OTHER DRIVERS!!

    I'm in Florida and it's as bad if not worse. I think they need to criminalize it and law enforcement should spend a year pulling over every car that does it. If they have to pay a HUGE fine or spend a few days in jail, it's the only way people will know it's against the law - because in my state it IS AGAINST THE LAW!
    It is a deadly problem and when I'm caught behind a person like this, I feel at risk and will eventually pass on the right because I don't want to die on the highway because of an ignorant person.
    A couple of days ago, I was on the highway when a man driving a company truck was in the left lane blocking traffic. There was no one in front of him in either lane - and if he looked in his rearview mirror, he would see that there was a long line of traffic and some cars beginning to drive erratically.
    So, maybe he wasn't paying attention and didn't know. But eventually, the person behind the idiot was being tailgated by an angry driver behind him...so he started flashing his lights at the idiot. NOTHING. So, then he started honking...still NOTHING. Then EVERYONE STARTED HONKING, still NOTHING. At this point, I see it as a criminal offense, he's endangering everyone behind him.
    I began taking video and snapshots including his license plate. Things got so out-of-control that the person in the right lane slowed down to let people pass, and you wanna guess what left-lane idiot did, yep...he slowed down to continue to block traffic. Now, I'm beyond annoyed, I'm irate. I don't want to die on the highway because of this awful person purposely causing problems and endangering the lives of many. No doubt he was thinking that he was going to teach the tailgating people a lesson...after all, he was going the speed limit and speeding is against the law so he is in the right.
    As an aside, he couldn't even claim that he didn't want to move over to the right because he'd be stuck in slow traffic - there was NOT A SINGLE CAR IN THE RIGHT LINE other than the car he was driving right next to.
    So, when I got home I got together a copy of the law, the link to the highway patrol's website dedicated to this dangerous violation of law, a brochure by law enforcement about the dangers left-lane drivers cause, the pictures and video of what the guy did in the company's truck and then had an attorney friend send a terse letter to the company letting them know that they are liable for the actions of this man and that his actions put the lives of many people in danger and reflected very badly on his company. Do I hope the guy gets fired, sorry, YES I do! It might save lives - including his own...and until there are severe consequences, the empty brains out there will never be aware. And with traffic growing worse and worse, this is going to become an even more dangerous problem. Especially in Florida where our governor just signed a bill making it okay to carry guns without permits. ALL OF US wanted to shoot the guy after he ignored the flashing lights and honking horns, and when the guy in the right lane tried to let people get by, he wouldn't let anyone pass. He purposely endangered all of us so it became an angry and frightened mob at that point. It was the kind of situation where those with a trigger finger can get carried away.
    So, starting July 1, 2023...stay off Florida highways and out of Florida malls if you want to Arrive Alive.
    Wait, maybe in Florida we can make it legal to shoot the ignorant left-lane drivers.
    Shoot-to-Pass-and-Arrive-Alive in the Sunshine State!
    Thank you Gov-soon-to-be-Prez-DeSantis
    No, too extreme (you haven't been to Florida, have you?) - but, okay - how about just letting us shoot out the idiot left-lane driver's tires thus endangering his life since he knowingly endangers the lives of others. Still too much? Well, many of us who have to drive the roads frequently are beginning to think it's the only thing that will correct this deadly problem is insanity.

    • @tacvolun3570

      Florida can not enforce it unless like the other states they start educating police officers. Police don't know the law any better than anybody else
      & do not understand that is illegal FL 316.186(2) Drive in the right most land except while passing To the left and do not Impede faster traffic.
      Police officers do not just magically know all traffic law any better than anybody else in the country does. Because Florida police officers are taught just like you I are taught to drive, mostly by Daddy and Mommy who say things like. "try to get in one lane and stay there" & other things that do not coincide with proper legal lane usage.
      For instance scared Mommy and daddy never tell junior to speed up and complete the pass,
      but they say ignorant things like don't speed "let them get the ticket"
      , just stay here and maintain your lane.
      Mommy and daddy teach junior to be a passive-aggressive driver. And junior grows up insisting that hes not an aggressive driver because he doesn't see passive, aggressive as being aggressive.
      Police officers do get training on how to drive a motor vehicle more safely but you cannot "inject" them with all of traffic law.
      If cops knew traffic law, then we wouldn't need judges.
      That is, and they wouldn't take jobs where they get shot at. And get their a**** kept for a living. They would take higher paying jobs. So don't assume they know the law just because they enforce it.
