Cool card. I like it. It reminded me of being a kid and making my mother pop-up cards by just according folding a strip of paper and gluing it to a hand drawn image - I know I'm old but that's what we did back in the 50's.

oh my gosh, you have so much patience!! I would've been throwing everything out the window, after I kicked it and smashed up the dies! LOL!! I sure do appreciate this tutorial Lindsay!! I'd like to see the DIY version next! hahahaha!! ;-)
As always your card is very pretty and I did learn a lot (like I'll not be buying those dies!). Thank you so much for all you do!! I really look forward to your tutorials!

While I love a challenge and working through problems, I have to keep in mind the investment in materials and mostly time. I sell to raise money for a non-profit. This is worth the time and effort for someone special and time does not factor in for personal gifting. I would try this card but I think I will try the old fashioned way and not use the die. I am so glad you share your problem solving process. I have some Christmas pop ups with positioning on the fold since last year and have yet to produce a decent card. You have given me courage to try again. I am grateful you take the time to help others like me. You have what I call a generosity of spirit!

Thank you! I have the stamps and both die sets. I am not good at cutting so the extra money made sense to me.
    Waxed paper - brilliant!
I put every one of my vases on first. Thank you for showing me it should be done last.
I have stamped with the lyra water color crayons before. I didn't with thdse but that was GENIUS!
My daughter's fiancee and I mass produced these. We gave my mother about 45 of these.
We colored them with colored pencils and watercolor pencils. We colored for 2 weeks!
I truly love this set and I thank you for all the tips and tricks. I used tombow. I think I want to try it with red line tape.
THANK YOU! This set isn't cheap but it won't ever go out of style. I am so glad you did this video!!!!!!!

    Lindsay,
Thank you for giving me another temptation to want to get a manual die cutter (LOL). In all honesty, thank you for letting us see your difficulties because this is the stuff we all go through. This awesome, Lindsay! Sorry I missed commenting on this earlier. We recommend Zip Dry Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives. It is a wet glue which facilitates moving the flowers as needed for placement, but it just rolls off like rubber cement if it gets where it's not wanted, and it dries very quickly. PS...we have tons of videos showing how to assemble this! :) But thanks so much for addressing the issues with your viewers. You always do such a great job!

I love your card and I am so glad I am not the only one who has trouble with pop-up cards. lol I think it almost would be easier to layer up the flowers or whatever you are going to put on it and then add it to one of the pop-up strips thingy then to try and glue each one on the three different pop-up whatever they are called. lol It is still a nice card and its nice to see video were you see a person struggle b/c so many people never show this and then I am getting upset and thinking there is something wrong with me b/c if everyone else can do it then why not me. however I am still jealous of your talent, lol

Oh, Lindsay, you are an enabler! lol I have started making cards and now I want a manual die cutter. Your videos have shown me how versatile these machines can be.
Hey, I had a thought while watching you struggle in the video with keeping the pop-ups from sticking outside the perimeter of the card. Why not butt something against the edge of the card before you start the layout? Anything with some height would do, like an acrylic or wood stamping block. This way if the flower pop-up falls off the edge of the card you know immediately, before you've glued it in place, because it will bump into the side of the block.

  • @angelhelp
    @angelhelp 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

What I'm thinking (not having tried it for myself but merely playing Monday morning quarterback) is that if the bouquet was assembled first, like you did in the layout, then affixed to the tabs with doublesided tape all at once, it might be easier. Dimensional adhesive could separate layers of flowers where they overlap, but you'd have one cohesive unit to smoosh down onto those tabs. A paintbrush handle could poke the sticky part of the tab securely onto the bouquet as it's held in the other hand, unless the tabs protrude sufficiently to allow for fingers. I'd use tape mainly because glue, even cyanoacrylic, always allows the joined surfaces to skid over each other for a period of time before it's fully cured. One could even take it a step further by skipping the tab-cutting die altogether and prefabricating one's own tabs. The card is beautiful!

  • @samanthac7037

Such a beautiful card! Love everything except the choice of card stock that you added for the tabletop? and label, they look muted and dirty compared to the vibrance of the water colour. Still loving it though. And now you can add floristry to your list of skills!

The Stampendous website has a Tips & Techniques tab and when you click on it, it has Pop Up tips. If you follow the order on the packaging, it's a big help. The leaves go on separately, that was mistake #1. And the vase does go on first. Wet glue is slow drying, but it gives you a minute to move things. :)

Thank you!!! I'm enjoying your stamp school. I have started making Gelli prints, and I have some beautiful sheets even some on deli paper that I would like to use in some projects. So, yesterday, I took a couple of stamps from Micael's $1 bin - pumpkin, raven and an owl in a tree. One of the pumpkin stamps came out nicely on my Gelli print on deli paper. I would like to make a card using it, but I have no idea where to begin on my composition and what specific elements go into the composition of a card. Of course, I have observed some of the steps that you go through, but I'm writing to ask something specific. Would you please consider doing a stamp school tutorial on the steps or things to consider when designing your own original card? I know this is a HUGE topic, but you explain things so well so even if you just got us started it would be great to learn the thought process behind card design. THANK YOU!!!

I know this isn't a new vid, but it may help others when assembling the inside pop-up to consider doing a dry-fit first, take a photo with your phone, then remove the pieces & glue them back in, starting with the furthest away piece, working forward to the one which is closest to you.

Lindsay I absolutely LOVE this card!! I especially like the front of the card, it's simply gorgeous. I was wondering though, do you think this watercolor stamping technique would work with water soluble oil pastels (portfolio water soluble oil pastels)? I dont own any water color crayons yet, so I was just wondering which would be better, water soluble oil pastels or watercolor pencils. Also, do you have any suggestions as to what kind of water color paper would be good to practice on and start making cards? I'm just starting making cards, and so far all I have is just plain ole office supply card stock, and I also have a canson XL multi media pad. I've been wanting to get some decent quality water color paper that is fairly affordable, something that I can use to practice my water colors as well as use in card making, but every time I start looking around at all the different types/brands, I just get overwhelmed, especially since I have no idea what the different types really mean and what they are for. Any suggestions or advice would be very greatly appreciated, as always.
Thank you for this amazing card tutorial. Love that you dont cut out your mistakes, it makes a beginner like me feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one who makes mistakes, lol. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos for us, and for helping us out so much.

I have been using the canson xl watercolor paper for cards and stamping and it is inexpensive. Try what you have for media before buying new. I think pencils are more versitile than crayons if you have to choose.
