On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Day 126 of asking for A-10 vs F-14
Still watchin'. I generally love your content.
Yeah, I’m still watching in round three
Day 51 of asking for A-10 vs F-86, or A-10 vs a series of different generations of jet fighter.
I’d love to see more Air Force vs Navy. F-4 vs F-5?
There are no good F-4 modules or any good mods yet
@@11TitsVSN F-4 hes used it before in videos
@@mintman825 That F-4 is ok but its quite clunky
@@11Tits yeah best course of action is just waiting for the F4 module
The F-5 is gonna wreck the F-4.
I've heard about F-14 pilots manually sweeping the wings back when they were actually slow, so they could fool the enemy into thinking that the F-14 was going into a two-circle and then they would sweep them back to normal. Maybe you could try that in the future?
I always hear the opposite--pilots saying it was just one more cue to get ahead of a Tomcat in energy management. But then I know a lot more USAF pilots than USN.
It can be effective in certain situations but the tomcat rates best at 400-440 wings out and around 270-300 flaps jammed
if you manually sweep back the wings, it behaves more like a delta, meaning it can pull higher aoa by losing more speed which gives it a few good turns in a 1 circle fight. with wings out it retains energy better in 2 circle.
@@BigArmBoss I think pilots have said both things; some that theyd do it somtimes, others would never. Same with asymmetric thrust.
It is more of a gimmick tho.
@@jpteknoman Thats not really true, there is a lot of misunderstandings about delta wings in the DCs community.
The biggest advantage of a delta is a bigger wing surface for its weight. Thats why a Eurofighter is just 11 tons, but can have giant and extremely sturdy wings. That doesnt necessarily apply for swing wing designs, but the F-14 just a ton of lift under any circumstances.
F-14 with wings back isnt that agile; the wings moving back moves the center of lift back and makes the plane more stable. Hence itll have a harder time to turn and will be more draggy. Early in the planes life they had 'glove vanes' to counteract the center of gravity shifting, but they got removed for weight/cost/maintenance reasons.
I love how you show your wins AND your losses. Shows a level of humility that I personally respect a great deal. Also allows lesser skilled pilots to use your videos as training aids. Great stuff.
Love the longer vids. Keep em coming. Shout out to the Eagle pilot in this one. He showed some great skills making for a brilliant 1st round. Well done to both of you.
seconding this
@12:14 Still here... Love the long video, especially when you fly the 14. Always bet on 'Cat.
Great fights, great pin sharp graphics, and my two favourite jets. What more could we ask for.
10 outta 10 GS
I love that it sounds like they used samples from riding coach on a 737 to create the F-14 sounds
Now that you mention it, it does sound a lot like a bunch of tray tables rattling in turbulence.
You mean the sound of a General Electric Jet Engine?
Having watched almost every video you've uploaded, I can immediately tell the visual difference with 2.9. Looks great!
I like how in the first kill GS made sure to cut of both wings and not just one just to be sure that the f 15 doesn't start doing f 15 thing
I always watch your videos until the end.
I appreciate you.
Same
6:56 I love how GS keeps shooting even after one wing breaks off. Can't let an F-15 keep one good wing.
yes, longer fights are best :D... also this person seems to be very good at flying, not trying to take anything away from the other ones that u fly against, but this guy seems to give u more of a challenge :)
...and who was that masked man?
Good to see you in one of my old F-14B Tomcats of the VX-4 Evaluators.😊
Another thing I noted is that, at 7:05 when the shells hit the ground they ricochet instead of penetrating it. How far has DCS come!
I have to say i love your commentary, you walk through your tactics and moves and do it very well. Keep em coming
Dude... You never have to ask if your videos are too long. Seriously. You're good.
Thanks for showing the opponent's gun camera view, GS! Good flying from both pilots!
Some of the best jinking I have ever seen there by that Eagle pilot! o7
Love the longer vids bro! I can’t wait to show this Chanel to my grandfather who was an air force pilot. I’m sure he will think this is so cool!
Longer fights are always a plus. Having Tomcat vs. Eagle is icing on the cake! Good stuff.
Nice flying by both of you, and the storm clouds really made it look cool
"He's still out in front, so I'm not in too much danger here."....and dead.
Of course I’m here for ALL the rounds. And I really appreciate the respect you pay to your opponent. You’re an awesome sim pilot, and a challenging adversary. But that doesn’t go to your head. Much respect!
Thanks!
Thank you very much.
Love the longer fights. Super awesome, especially when you are doing it with the Tomcat. Could watch Tomcat dogfights all day.
would love to see this fight again from the F-15 perspective
at this rate you gotta be one of the people in the world with most dogfight hours in a sim. xD
I don't know, might have been an early ejection by the Eagle pilot on that last one- he still had a wing. 🤣 Great fights!
I like the no missle fights the best, modern dogfights involve getting a lock, firing a missle, then waiting and countering the counterstrike, I really enjoy the older fighting style, where two planes are fighting to get the other in their crosshairs and dodging shots
Let’s do a F14A vs F-15E. With you in the SE. Imagine the Tomcat will crush the SE, but it would be good to see.
Multi role vs multi role would probably be more interesting. I'd propose F/A 18F vs F15E
F-14A would slaughter the F-15E in WVR. The F-15E is a not meant to fight a2a WVR.
@@cockatoo010super hornet is a monster dog fighter, do not recommend
@@cockatoo010 Why not doing both? ;-)
12:10 - We love the longer fights. Love the 3 and 5 round videos
You felt the need... the need... for speed! Thanks for the video GS!
Man, that flying was incredible. By the third round I didn't know who to root for haha.
f-14 vs f-15 is the brother vs brother fight of dogfights.
Love the LONGER vid with 3 fights!! NOICE flying in both planes!! Love it!! Thanks GS !!
absolutely love the long videos. thanks for putting in the extra effort and time!
That last overshoot was MASTERFUL.
I liked that killcam view from the side of the F-14 at the end.
You and and Dornia3 made an extremely tight fight between 2 behemoths in this match up, well done!
First thing I noticed with the latest DCS is how mcuh smoother your videos look, they really did a good job improving performance.
Loveing to see the cat wins. And there it is, its the Pilote. Gs denied him his fight evry time, allmost.
Go Eagle, Go Eagle!!! The DCS 2.9 version goes great with viewing it on my new phone. After two years, it was time!! Still watching!!!
Let's go Air Force!
Beautiful video, GS. Love the 2.9
here for 3 round, sounding off. 1-1 - all to play for. Let's go
great fight - thanks lads
Thank you for watching.
13:17
You're gonna do WHAT?!?!?!
Absolutely still here. All of your videos are very interesting, and usually informative, too.
I dont recall you fighting this guy before, or at least often... would love to see more with him though.
The wires and the electrical tape on top of the Tomcat cockpit LOL
2.9 is great so far. The F1 got some underrated FM changes in this update. It’s my favorite module in DCS currently, and I could immediately tell a difference in FM. Apparently they changed the slat deployment timing, which has made a surprising big difference.
It can pull roughly 13 deg AOA / 6G at a sustained 430kn. It feels very nice. I’d love to see some F1 content!
Stayed till the end. Love the dogfights!!
I used to think 2 circle fights would be the best just by description. But the one circle fight with 2 skilled pilots is way better to watch.
6:54 - "I heard you fuckers like landing with one wing, so I had to make you symmetrical"
0:21 I tought you'll say: "I felt the need, THE NEED FOR SPEED!" :D
That was a good episode.
Loved that 2nd Round gun kill in particular.
Dornia is aggressive and a worthy opponent for you GS.
Still watching! Keep them coming. We love long videos
God yes! Multiple rounds! Maybe think about what small thing you can change after round 2? Not like bandit unknown, but maybe have someone else fly against you? Different weather, different spawn locations? Just thinkin that'd be neat
That last flat scissors was epic.
love to see f-35 vs f-15 strike eagle dogfight just gun never did it
first fight was one of the best ive seen in a while
F15 will always be my girl. But I LOVE seeing these two platforms dogfight. They really are very evenly matched and it's a joy watching them dance in sky. Round 2 and 3 really drives home the point you made, how one platform isn't better or worse than the other, one little mistake and we see how quickly the fight shifts. Good stuff GS.
Even if you won this in 2:1 he's a really good pilot, nice job from both of you!
agreed, he did a great job.
Mad respect to the other pilot, that was a great couple of fights
A real clash of the titans on this one. Good vid!
The varying topography, low clouds and weather conditions in these last few fights has really added real world challenges to the dogfights. I've often wondered how, if any, strong winds or gales would affect the flights of these aircraft. Even windsheer or storm fronts. I'm guessing DCS is working on it. Windsheer affects commercial flights in higher altitudes and, according to Eric Brown, flying into cumulonimbus clouds during a storm was dangerous and life threatening. It shook him up quite a bit, he said.
Spectacular flying of the Tomcat, GS.
Wind can have a big effect on DCS landings, especially something like an F-14 with tons of lift and low landing speed. Gotta learn your crosswind landings! :D
I dont think DCS limits more complex stuff like windsheers tough.
God, I love watching you fly that Tomcat.
Still watching the later rounds, Like the long format and TAC view..... Your Modernized Tomcat vids are great....would love to see the D cockpit setup if that ever is possible..... Also maybe an EX Eagle II.....great vids GS
Still here... I've never cut off any of the videos I've watched everyone till the end.
I appreciate you. Thank you.
Great fight on one circle against the eagle at the end.
These videos make my day a little better each time
Longer fights! Always watch till end
Bro the F-14 is literally having a seizure at 3:20 💀
F14 was pretty well behaved. Great flying as always GS.
Two of my all-time favorite fighters. Cheers GS✌
Thanks for doing the 15vs 14 i asked for watched all 3 rounds great job to both of you :)
Still watching at round 3, waiting for controllers to allow BVR so that Eagle can do what it does best. Go Air Force!
It is very rare I don't watch to the end. Thanks for the videos!
15 minutes is an ideal dogfight length (Too short and you want more, too long and it just becomes two guys flying circles around each other).
Still watching in round 3. Love your videos!
Keep up the longer fights, they are very enjoyable to watch. Tomcat has and will always be my favorite aircraft!
Still watching, Thanks for the awesome videos!
I do like the longer vids! Especially when there is an F-14 present. I Love that bird!
Totally dig the longer videos, I also like the tactical debriefs
Always here for the end! 12:30
"We haven't done dogfighting in a very long time, so I felt the need..."
me: THE NEED- THE NEED FOR SPEE-
"the need to do another video like that."
missed opportunity in the f-14 fr
Great video! Very enjoyable. Well edited & presented.
Thank-you!
Yo GS, great way to start the weekend. Thanks again for the video. Go Navy. Nice piloting on both sides. Appreciate your efforts keep it up. Have a pleasant day. Cheers.
A great video. I'm still watching till the end every time. Go Navy. 😊
The bird of prey, the way it spreads and ticks its wings is elegant.
Still watching, round 3 revenge was sweet. Long live long videos!
I really like the best 2 out of 3 format. When its 1-1 you just have to do a tie breaker.
Another F-14B Master Class 👋
Thanks, GS - great (longer) vid!
Love the longer vid, thank you!
Well, time to open a cold beer and enjoy the show, love grudge matches.
Keep those longer fights coming!
How about a fight between the F/A-18 Super Hornet and F-15C? Would be interesting to see two McDonnell Douglas birds go at it.
Great fight GS, i always love it whenever you'r in the Cat. Great fight.
The Tomcat shakes more than the bed of a hotel honeymoon suite.
Great video, love the information and your knowledge of each aircraft. Longer videos appreciated. I make it a point to watch everyday. Love it!
stayed till the end. now for the 3 round with you in the F15 vs the F14
Seeing the F-14 rattle about in the turns, my Jesus Lord lmao
