I'm still rocking my original iPod (manufactured in November 2001!) to this day and actually use it almost daily. Even though I pay for Spotify premium, I absolutely *love* using my OG iPod as an offline music player at home. The headphone jack is fantastic for my studio reference headphones. The only upgrade I ever did to it was getting a 20GB hard drive for it because I was so sick of constantly deleting songs to make space on the original 5GB hard drive from 2001. I never owned an iPod since I was far more interested in the lower end media players and iPod knockoffs, especially those "MP4 Players" that they used to sell at drug stores, dollar stores, etc, usually around the Holiday season. They were quirky, occasionally glitchy, and cheaply made, but they did have some features many iPods didn't have such as FM radio (and the ability to record airchecks off the radio into MP3 format), and expandable memory, typically with a Micro SD card. How good these worked varied, but I had fun with them. I still have a few of them today, and so far, they still work and the batteries haven't gone spicy.

I rocked an iPod touch 4th gen and a Samsung intensity up until Christmas 2015, when my parents finally bought me an iPhone. My wife genuinely doesn’t believe me that I rocked that set up for that long. But it worked for me and I had no complaints.
The iPod Nano 7th gen was my first iPod. It's pretty neat that it has Bluetooth but I never used the Bluetooth. The iPod Nano 6th gen is my favorite iPod.
