- This video is the third installment in my Road wanderer adventure. I finally get to the cabin and get to mellow down for the night. I go over the reasons this trip was so hard, and talk about what I did wrong to make it such an arduous trip. The next day I get to spend some time fixing up the cabin, as I figure out what to do for the rest of the adventure.
This video is more mellow, it's more of a day in the life video.
I would like to thank all the people out there who watch and enjoy my videos, it's a lot of fun being able to take y'all guys along with me. :) Also thank you for all of your support, it makes the difference for me.

Take one of those clean open tin cans or a pot, cup, whatever you can boil a little water with and add that tea bag to it. Boil it on the woodstove for a couple minutes and let that tea infuse into the hot water. When you take it off the heat add your sugar to dissolve it so it's not grainy from the sugar. Then just add cold water and shake shake shake 😉 much better sweet tea. I was worried about you on this trek, Matt. I just wanted to launch you a gatorade down here from SW Washington. Please make sure you take care of yourself first, nobody else will. I learned that lesson the hard way. It's so great to watch your journeys and your continued achievements. I'm still so proud of you. My daughter is also in recovery and I'm so so thankful every single day to God for bringing her back to me out of the darkness, she has 6 years clean and sober now. You are an inspiration to more than you know. Much love and stay safe ♥

I don’t think he has one. He is in the process of getting his ID, license, etc. you need ID to get a P.O. Box.

Hi Friend 👋🏻 I have to say your video & sound editing is really great 👍🏻 Phew what a massive effort & you did it! The walking in the snow description up to the cabin sounded like wading through treacle, not easy at all. You had the cabin looking really homely, all your essentials & definate necessities after that whole trek. Fire going, chicken full of goodness & protein, hot drink (warm from the inside out) & it was tea! Maybe you have a bit of British heritage, us Brits love our tea! I have so much admiration for you in this- You got in the cabin, got the necessities going, warmth, food & drink - Refuel & nourish body & mind. Talking through how you felt, hearing your thought process, from being a little sad about the day to being happy you're there & more fulfilled. You are very engaging when you speak I almost said "Good night" back. The views outside you showed the next day looked so pretty but I also realised how dangerous the conditions could be. Seeing you processing situations, what things to do immediately, what is practical what not, window measurements for future fixing & even what to do back to the orchard, very balanced thinking. Defying the weather, what an experience- On to video 4!

YAY part three - I have been waiting for this. This was quite the adventure; the snow, the cold, the wood situation, the frozen yams, the snow, the sore muscles, the batteries, the snow (SO MUCH SNOW) :) - and yet you persevered. And, you LIVE your words - Never Give Up, Never Surrender - and you don’t. You think things through and use your resources - I can’t begin to tell you how inspiring that is. Thanks Matt for sharing your journeys. That mountain with its cabin is so special, I totally get why you do what you do to get there. Safe travels. 🙏❤️👍✝️

I am so happy that you made it safe, been a little worried because I know how determined you are to accomplish what you set out to do. And don't worry life things will work out God is on your side. What a hike!!! I can't imagine how difficult it was for you to carry the gear you had with you and to carry yourself up that mountain in the deep snow ❄ It goes to show that we're a lot stronger than we think we are...If you can make it to the top of Chopaka...You can make it to the top of anything ahead of you...

Hey I totally get it and you’re doing the absolute correct thing in keeping moving… I’m pushing 67 and running a small farm I end up with various aches and pains and if I didn’t have animals to take care of at O-dark-thirty in the morning the temptation to not move would be great but I’ve found that the more I move (carefully) the better I can work out the kinks along the way. You’re also smart to keep on a level plane when you can. Another awesome vid.

Hi Matt! This was a good video. I love it the Paleo diet 😂😂 your so funny as always. Your not kidding me with that sweet tea cause its from your dad's Texas roots. I lived in San Antonio,TX for 5yrs in my college years in the early 70s with my 1st husband who was born there & sweet tea was a staple in his diet. We boiled 5 teabags in a small amount of water to consentrate it then diluted it & added sugar & fresh squeezed lemon. Glad you made it to your destination! It's Sunday evening here in western WA in NE Tacoma. I love chillin & watching your videos. Hope your trip is all good fun from here on out.👍😊

Hey Matt... Love your videos.. Can't help but think you have a future in this type of work. You're good at it. I could be biased because I loved watching you and your family on Alaskan Bush People. My younger Brother had Parkinsons disease and we would watch A.B.P. together and then talk about it for hours.. Really helped to take our minds off what we were going through at the time. He passed in Jan. 2018,

Happy to see you made it up there safely in one piece. It was a lot of snow to truck through. You've got to remember as we get older things get a little more difficult so you will have to amend your tracks to allow more time and less weight. Waiting a few weeks for the snow to melt won't hurt. I do enjoy your redirecting yourself to stay more positive. All in all you are doing an awesome job with these videos. Keep up the good work definitely appreciate your being real and not scripted like your family is on that show

Mat I'm so glad you made it safe and sound! I thought you left a stack of chopped wood last time so you would have it ready! I think it's a good think that your water froze, because if the weather would have been warm, and the water in the container was not sealed and never opened, I think it would have grown bacteria after a couple days and made you really sick if you drank it! I'm glad your sleeping bag was still there, are you worried that mice and rats could get into it and chew it up? Stay safe my friend! 💙🙏💙

Matt another GREAT video!! 🤗 Couple things: 1.Song you're thinking of "Looks Like We Made It" by Barry Manilow 2. You noted things you want to do (license, truck, windows for cabin, etc) I'm thinking once you get the first 2 tasks done you can drive the truck up to you're paradise cabin on the mountain vs hiking the whole way to save you're energy/muscles to do all the playing and exploring you want to do while you're there. Not to mention a means to tote your windows up. 3. You're so right, when you feel body muscle pain the worst is to rest on it and then everything locks up on you and then you can't move at all! 100% Plus like you're always saying, by staying moving you're also doing your walking meditation. 🤗👏❤

My husband and I got stuck when we went to check on our property in Skykomish. Truck sunk up to the frame, we were taking turns trying to dig ourselves out. Luckily a lady came by about midnight and pulled us out. We were both so sore the next day because It did that freezing thing you were talking about so instead of regular shovel full it was heavy chunks.
No matter where you go...there you are.

But surely you could devise some hiding spot or bolt down an impenetrable safe?
It’s very sad that unlike Alaska that cabin can’t be left supplied-
Used by whomever it serves and restocked to the best of their ability with each use…..

Glad you made it safely to the cabin. Looking forward to your next adventure. A side note: the cold isn’t good on batteries, it tends to shorten their power ‘life’. I live where it gets pretty cold and my cordless tools’ power doesn’t last long because of the cold. Just a tip to help you out. Maybe keep them on you to keep from getting too cold. Lots of luck to you.

It is a joy to watch your videos. Reminds me of all the things that can come up unexpectedly. Especially as you are all by yourself, which is a little scary. Hey Matt, nice to see all that hard treacherous hike pay off. You made it. 🙌 🙌 woohoo ❤️. That was a huge trek with tons of snow. Certainly am glad that you got there. So, I noticed that alot of work has been done on this lil gem of a cabin. I believe the last time I saw it in your videos it had a lot of holes/gaps like everywhere. You've done alot of good work on the place. Also Matt, just wanted to tell you to remember when your taking ibuprofen take it with food or a glass of milk. It has a tendency to be a bit harsh on the stomach lining. Im so glad you shared with us all today video 3, I was wondering when it would be out. I'm thinking that your making a extremely wise decision to head out and back down. The snow is so 🥶 cold. I hope you get good rest before your journey home begins and stay warm. So looking forward to your next video. As for me, im hunkering down today and doing inside stuff because we are having a ton of high winds. I hung some curtains, cooked, cleaned, got some photos downloaded off my phone and am really just chilling out now. Its almost sunset, hope you enjoy your evening Matt. Im gona enjoy mine. 🙂

That looks so peaceful and serine that I agree, it is totally worth the effort to get there. Maybe a bow saw would be a good tool to bring up to help with firewood harvesting! Lol or help from your buddy with the 4 wheeler in good weather helping you get some firewood up to the place! God loves you hun and all of us do too!!! God bless!!!

That chicken look good. Was that home made bread it look like it. Since COVID started I always make homemade bread. That is a lot of snow. Your dad used to tell Bear the first thing to do is start the fire. Good thinking you don’t want to get sick leave tomorrow. Wow u are going to need more wood. I told my husband I want to build a cabin in the woods. Great vlog
No not homemade bread, though I'm going to learn how to make bread this summer, I really enjoy how it smells baking :)

Really loved seeing the cabin all covered in snow! It's so cozy looking! It looks like you're getting more acclimated oh this day after your rough hike up! Are those snow shoes very hard to walk on? Looks like it may be difficult like walking with flippers on 🤣! Anyways the wood stove is awesome and the video is filled with awesome scenery! I really love that little cabin! It's so quant!
