It takes patience and discipline to decide on taking your gear in portions instead of all in one trip....I could not do that ...even unloading my groceries from my van to my kitchen ..i try to get them all in one trip or as few trips as i can possibly do....to the point of looking ridiculous to my neighbors. I hiope this adventure is a good one for you...always good to see your adventures from the safety of our own places.😊
So pleased you have folk in your life who will lesson the load you try to take on all by yourself. Please put your own welfare above what you may think the audience requires of you. Stay safe and well.
MATT this is the type of video I’ve been saying you need to do another one of. The world is falling apart and you’re showing the gear you need to survive and then using that gear up on chopaka! Would be 💯 certified awesome :)
That was a great adventure, Matt! It really showed that nature isn't something you master and move on. It's a challenge and a lesson every single day. In between we get the reward of standing still for a moment, enjoying the stars, the smell of grass, resin and morning fog and be in Awe of god's creation! That's why I'm a nature girl, I don't do well in Cities. ⛰️💚😉
Hi Matt 👋 i was so glad your friend drove you that far! Your boss is a wonderful friend! You was making me nervous trying to get ready to go. I watched all your videos going up to the legions and the cabin. It is a really far and treacherous walk. I am glad you are almost at the corral. I always love your adventures. I hope you get closure when you ever get to the cabin. The place you came to after rehab. You are my inspiration! You came such a long way! We are all on are own journey in life. You inspire people to keep going in life. Never give up never surrender 💪 take care my friend ❤
Hi Matt 🖐 This was a very nice video. I enjoyed very much. It was nice of your boss to drive you. It was also nice to see CeCe again. I can still remember your videos and pictures when you arrived in Loomis. First in the tent and later in the cabin on chopaka mountain. Than you find your job. The job in the orchard. You have achieved at lot since then you can proud of yourself. I'm proud of you. P.S. I wrote you a message on IG regarding results of my MRI.
Thank you Matt, always carry duck tape. That's what I use for splinters. And it's great for many different types of things. Be Safe and stay healthy my friend. God Bless. Never Give Up ,Never Surrender. Much love big hugs 28:55 I love being alone it's easier to survive. I've been prepping for along time.
Matt... you are capable of anything both with your friends and on your own. I hope you can put your mind at ease and enjoy yourself. Be safe and God bless
Looks like you had a lot of stuff to figure out my friend and you did horarrah Matt. So beautiful there love to see. Just know you have family out here. Always smiling 😊
Great video Matt. One of your better ones I think. You seem to be getting some questions answered already and the trip has just begun. I look forward to the next update. 👍👍👍👍👍
You did awesome my friend not perfect, but who is and could🤷🏽♀️ I'm glad you have such amazing friends that helped you on your journey. I look forward to watching the rest of the journey. Keep up the great work you guys!!!
Good for you, Matt. Looked like an awesome little getaway/adventure. I’m sure you had a good time, more so, I hope it fulfilled its purpose and you found that which you were seeking. ✌️
Thank you so much “Boss Man” for the ride all the way up to the top…. You are just the best 🌟 Matt that saved you hours of walking and an uncertain plan of where you would stop and camp for the night….. ❤️🌹
ANOTHER BRILLIANT VIDEO MATT 👍 HUUUGETHANKS. FOR TAKING US ALONG.. 🙏. PROUD TO KNOW SUCH A LOVELY REAL & SELFLESSS PERSON & FOR BRINGING THE SUNSHINE( ☀️☀️☀️ & MOONLITE,)🌙🌙🌙 SMILES& INSPIRATION TO MY EACH AND EVERY DAY . . LOVE/LIGHT AND GDNIGHT 😊💤💤💤🌙🌞💚✨✌️👋💤
HEY mat love that place so beautiful i would love to hike up there and see that view at night that would be awesome that moon look so pretty thank you so much for all of these videos ❤❤
😊😊 Hey Matt, ... What an awesome man David is to have taken you where you needed to go for the start of your journey on Chopaka! Beautiful country scenery on the ride over! All of your explanations of how and why you are doing everything for the survival is so good my friend! Thanks for sharing your trip back to the grade! I know you were safe during this part two and I look forward to the next part of your adventure! God bless 🙏♥😊 Christine M ...Vikingmiss
Matt, thank you so much for taking us along on your adventure. The sky, the view, the moon are beautiful 😊 I would love to go hiking myself 😄 I was rooting for you that everything would work out. You really have a great boss 😊
MATT, This was a mentally challenging truck for you, I feel. You aren’t the same person as you were a year ago, so the solitude or schedule must change as well. I have to say your cinematography skills have improved.
You have a wonderful boss 🙂 Thank God for the Cowboy 🤠 Beautiful moon 🌙 So glad you got to visit with the Legend, their lights are beautiful 😊 I've enjoyed the adventure 🏔️🏕️
Hi Matt thank you for taking us on your adventure,At times i could feel the frustration that you were going through with the decisions that you had to make.I have so much respect for you and the person you have become friend.peace and love to you and all 👍🇦🇺🦘
Great video Matt! I love Chopaka all the same. Can't wait to go up myself. Very healing energy up there. So much history. I do have to say though, please let the rattlesnakes be. They are an important native animal that deserves respect not fear. They will leave you be if you leave them be. Rattle snakes control the small mammal population (rodents basically) and help reduce wildlife disease from ticks and fleas... I notice a lot of the old timers out here despise rattle snakes. They really aren't as dangerous as people think in fact they do more good than harm. Oh and little tip with the travois, cross the frame instead of having the square, that way you have it narrow where you are pulling and nice and wide in the back. We used to make those for ice fishing out in Montana when I was a kid.
I am enjoying this video Matt. Thanks for sharing 🤩 Looks like there's not as much snow over there this year, right? ❤ Good night, is most than midnight here ✌🌹
MATT so far so good, always enjoy your Adventures when you are talking to us letting you know what is on your mind. I’m glad the bosses are in your life they are special people who have big ❤’s Thanks for taking us with you. And all you do and say in your videos it’s a huge help to me in my recovery. Keep strong friend, JOE
Matt, didn’t you take your truck all the way to the cabin in the snow on one adventure? Also is the cabin on Chapaka Mountain your cabin or just a cabin for any road warriors or mountain walkers to use? Great to see you back out there, it’s good you are at the workshop with good friends Tom and Mike but your solo adventure are what I enjoy most, I just love the countryside and the trees and wildlife, because of my age and some health issues I am living my dream through you and your adventures. Thank You My Friend.
This video is great Matt and your boss Dave is one kind gentleman to give you a ride. Thank you Dave for looking out for our Matt. I felt sad for you when you reminisced about your first arrival on Chopaka and how you struggled to survive until the Cowboy found you. It only goes to show you how far you've come. Not only did you stay sober and clean but you are well on your way to a successful business. A lesser man would have crumbled. You are a man with such resilience that it inspires so many. Keep going Matt!
Thanks Matt for another amazing video ❤where you’re going is so much better then where you’ve been ,,keep looking forward Matt,,you got some amazing friends your blessed ❤always in my prayers

You should've put some wheels on the thingy that you're lugging all your gear on. 🤣🤣🤣
I wonder if,(given more time), it would be possible to carve the travois poles out of some larger logs, removing a lot of the wood, but making them strong and leaving thicker sections at the bottom where you could drill holes for a make shift, carved wooden axle. The slice some wooden wheels out of a round and carve it down to make it smooth, strong and lighter weight. With wheels on the travois maybe it would roll instead of drag, making it easier to pull. This would take time, of course, but might be worth it in a long term scenario. You would need a hand drill set and some specialized carving tools, probably a good thing to have…
Matt i love all your videos and i follow you faithfully because you always seem to calm and relax me but i have to say this was hard to watch. You were all over the place and your rushing around gave me anxiety, where you are usually so level headed. I thought even after you got a ride and saw the Legendvyou would be a little calmer but you were all over the place. I just felt you really weren't enjoying it this much. I love Michael and Tom and your friendship but you seem kind of up tight. I don't know if it's because your not sleeping well. You have great friends, but don't loose yourself. Always be safe and happy. Will still follow you guys of course because i love to see what you are all doing. But clear your head first please, just want you to be safe. You just seem highly anxious lately. That going back and forth for the truck made me tired. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip Matt. ❤️🙏
Ur doing well, keep calm move with ambition but suspicion , and believe what you are doing is right,, if you have doubt, stop breath look reassess make a decision and carry on. You will succeed
Tell your boss I love that hes a Ford guy! Yes, there is a man right there! It seems like an anxiety thing to me that you can't sit still. Glad you could visit the Legend - now lets camp!
Your a good real man Matt with a beautiful heart love watching your adventure's Soo awesome I love doing that sort of thing myself every chance I get good for the soul 🙏🏼❤💙🩵💜
I would love to personally chat with you I can relate with you on so many levels I grew up in the bush running dogs with my dad it's in my vains I'm sober if you see this keep going Matt I have faith in you ❤❤❤❤
Would the axle and wheels from an old hand truck work so instead of dragging you would be rolling your stuff? I recently used a very crappy old hand truck to move a transmission from my neighbor's house to mine. It moved about 200 pounds rather easily. The hand truck had 8 inch soft inflatable tires that worked really good over dirt and rough ground. You could weld up a place to insert the sticks then maybe hold them in place with pins. Just a thought. Your stick setup is very clever as is.
19:51 you should carry a ham radio out there. Especially if there is no cell phone service. If something were to happen you want to be able to contact someone
Excellent Video!! I am so happy you stayed the course and "did not" go back for the truck. It truly would have taken away from the kind gesture your boss showed you, by driving you to the your starting point. All the details of this production was very interesting Matt. I often think about Jesus and how he traveled. God Bless you and thanks for this great share. Forward Motion, even when we want to go back👍Can't wait for the continuation!
I wanted to add this to my comment to Matt about writing a book. Think of this you had millions of fans with the show add the rest of your life you have a best seller .😀🥰
I did a trip in the blue mountains of Oregon on My own, i was dropped off by a friend, me and my dog after three days i got food poisoning from my venison that went bad,it took everything i had to try to walk back out of a very remote location,i was so cramped up and sick i didn't think I was going to make it, i wouldn't of made it if not for a forest service Guy that just happened to be down that remote road, he took me back to the forest service cabin and got me to the hospital where I spent 5 days in the intensive care unit, the doctor said i was hours away from death from dehydration
Ones closest companion is the person in your own head. Im a truck driver who has spent endless hrs in my own thoughts. I find that i myself is the best company i could be with.
You should really think about writing your autobiography .You have lived such an interesting life It would be such an interesting read. You could write about your early life growing up to your days of addiction and over coming it to the present day. Also the friends that you met and have helped you and you have helped them. It would be a great book. Plus who knows you could have a best selling book and you could make a lot of money on it too.
Hey brother, I’ve made drag sleds many times before in my 40 years in the bush and through my own trial and error I can tell you that yours is too short….By about 4-6 feet. The longer it is the more stable it will be. Do with that What you will myfriend. 😊 Be well my brother Craig
Find an old tricycle, dont the wheels have a bar or rod that connects them? Take the rear wheels off. attach them to the thing you are pulling,,i guess you are calling that a sled. And there you go,,you got wheels..it will help keep your stuff level too. Another thing you can build,,use metal pipes,,weld them together,,instead of sticks,,less likely to break. Surely there is scrap metal around the shop you can build something.
It takes patience and discipline to decide on taking your gear in portions instead of all in one trip....I could not do that ...even unloading my groceries from my van to my kitchen ..i try to get them all in one trip or as few trips as i can possibly do....to the point of looking ridiculous to my neighbors. Hey Matt what about bears???😮

Have you already made videos of what happened to you when you were at the edge of your survival in Chupaka then being rescued by The Legend?
How did you get injured?
Hey brother, I’ve made drag sleds many times before in my 40 years in the bush and through my own trial and error I can tell you that yours is too short….By about 4-6 feet. The longer it is the more stable it will be. Do with that What you will myfriend. 😊
Be well my brother

Matt , what is this thing you have on your nose ? lt's like a lot of small red dots or wounds
What would be the 1or 2 special tools u would take with u in such a situation what would give u that edge to make it besides Dr pepper 😂
