    Upgrade the fenders, don't downgrade the tires. Another masterful drive.

    Uncle Khong’s foot discipline is great! Never rides the clutch unless it needs to be pressed

      First lesson any driver should learn. We also have cases of motoring media burning out clutches on cars.

    Am driving a 1.2 Puretech turbo now, this one is fun & thrilling enough to run, can't imagine the 1.6 THP GTi you got there. Peugeot's turbochargers are definitely one of the best.

    This is the first time I had heard so much of scraping when Uncle Khong is driving up Genting... Anyway, it's still good to see both the car and Uncle Khong in action... Thanks Eugene for lending your car!

    Most likely due to the sagging fender liner. The gti comes with a sort of felt fender liner which gives better sound insulation however due to age or moisture often sags.
    I’ve been running 215 with no issues even on track. Quick fix is to replace with the plastic fender liners which don’t sag over time

    Its not the tyres, its the shocks. Facelifted 208 GTi has wider tracks front and rear, no fender rubbing issue. The Peugeot Sport edition (which we dont have here) uses 205/40R18, no rubbing as well, because they have stiffer shocks. Original shocks are good for daily but not for touge especially during front loaded, high weight transfer corners. Im driving a stock GTi same as Eugene's btw. Cheers...

      This car was on 225s. That is why they are scraping. Original tyres for the 200 hp GTi here are 205's.

      @@YSKhongDriving Hi uncle YS. Video shows 215. Some members shared their experience on 215 width they have no issue, on adjustable coilovers though. Also, the PS4 side wall is a bit too soft, and the weight from the panoramic sunroof doesn't help.

    Heart pain for the tyres,PS4 ain't cheap nowadays.I would suggest stick to factory recommended size,no scraping for sure.Peugeot 208 1.2 puretech owner here...;p

  • @calemporis
    @calemporis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Great car, I doubt is the tyres size that is scraping the fenders. I own a stock standard 208 ( not GTI) with 215/45R17. Did some rounds up & down Genting, without any scrape. Definitely nothing to do with the tyre size ..change your shock bro.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This car had oversized tyres. Perhaps the shocks needed some attention too, but honestly I was pushing it a bit hard too.

    Hello Sir! what suspension this car has? would u consider an upgrade to a small hatchback like this?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The suspension is stock. Usually a suspension upgrade improves the handling, as the standard one usually is made for road use, with some degree of comfort.
      Of course there is a price - and that is the sacrifice of some comfort. Stiffer suspensions tend to improve performance, up to a point.
