I remember seeing that live on TV and mark was wearing that salmon pink jacket and I personally felt kind of sad that he was going to retire, It's one of the few times in wrestling that I was caught completely off guard by surprise. I literally thought he was done. I was telling myself "man that sucks" and saying things like "d***". Then soon as he slammed Cena started yelling I still got plenty left in the tank I was like d*** he got me!!

I was listening to Mark Henry interviews for the past few days. The interview with CVV and Henry's iconic slam by bringing the opponent up off the mat to Henry being in standing position to slam the dude again. Henry is a great interview. So, I thought I wonder what he said in his retirement to the fans.
I had no idea. I honestly thought he was giving his farewell speech from the heart to everyone watching front and back. That was an incredible performance by Henry. At the end, I was "what did I just see?" Truly amazing.

His entire retirement angle is what he was referring to when he spoke about the Wyatt6 dining at whataburger.

I have been a fan 30 years, and that moment was one of the few times I got completely drawn in thinking a retirement was real. Mainly because Mark did such a good job putting so much emotion into it. That was so well done recently AJ Styles stole the same retirement speech then turned on Cody lol 🤣

I read that retirement speech like a book because Scott Steiner had me and my brother in tears a few years earlier when he said his biggest regret was he wouldn’t be to wrestle with his brother again. Two groan men in tears. 😂

Give Mark is his flowers. That retirement speech is what it is. If ever see Mark Henry in that Pink Salmon suit jacket again.. I KNOW Mark is about to work me 🤣🤣🤣 JBL and Michael Cole sold it too. WE ALL BELIEVED IT. In one promo, Mark made us laugh, he made us cry, he made us thank him, he made us reflect, he made a few people mad, had us all like marbles in his hand 🤣 HE FOOLED EVERYONE. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I don't know if it's the best mic work we've ever seen but it certainly was a great promo and I don't think anybody could have seen the heel turn coming it's nice and refreshing to hear positive talk of Hogan instead of all the ridiculous hate he gets this guy did so much for the business he should be celebrated not constantly hated on

At least Hulk is gonna be honest when he sees something legendary. I’m one of those people who “knew” because, after watching wrestling for 25 years up until that point, you know certain things are gonna happen. When Cena came out, I knew it had to be a work.
That being said, by the time he was finished, I was buying the swerve hard. They really made it seem like they were breaking the rules of a fake retirement, which made me even more hype when he sent Cena to the Shadow Realm. It is the greatest fake retirement by a country mile, and a top-5 all-time promo without question

I don't think Hulk wants gives a damn or needs your respect. Your respect isn't worth much anyway, sister!
