Totally agree 1000% I haven't been wowed yet. The smell dissipates before I leave out the store and I wanna love it. I shouldn't have to layer it with another fragrance unless its a lotion or oil.
I really appreciate your honesty! It's hard to trust many of these fragrance reviewers because they have brand deals with these companies, as you've stated. My friend had a very similar reaction to Silk Santal as you did. Very over-hyped.
It helps to know you aren’t the only one in these situations. I thought my sniffer was broken with vanilla candy rock sugar bc everyone acted like it was the best fragrance ever released; until, I realized they were all PR people (or mostly). And, then come to find out, a lot of people struggled with it like me. 🫶
I totally agree with everything you say about Kayali silk santal especially when you said it doesn’t last long. I have to over spray to get at least a 3 hour last.
I could not agree more. Kayali has oversaturated the fragrance world, and the influencers who are on the Kayali payroll cannot ever say anything bad about their fragrances. My non brand name perfumes from TJ maxx and Marshall's perform better than any Kayali I have smelled and sprayed on me. Thank you for your honest review, and you got yourself a new subscriber.❤
Thank you so much for this. I appreciate you! I’m already cringing at everyone saying this new one will be the best of the year. It’s not even out yet! I do have a few Kayali I really like, but I have a lot of criticism of the marketing and the glorification of the brand.
I haven't bought into the hype for Silk Santal because, in trying the Kayali discovery set, I couldn't find a single fragrance that I loved. I thought the performance on every single one was so-so. The much loved Vanilla 28 was just meh to me. I'm really glad that you speak your truth in this video. It makes me wonder how truthful many of the fragrance influencers are being in their videos.
You know, it seems like anyone who isn’t a content creator or a Pr person, just thinks Kayali is okay. So, it is really hard to trust those who are “influencing” in some way. I hate that it ruins the credibility of those who always review honestly. 😭
@@aleishabudgetbeauty I don't think that the honest reviewers lose credibility because of the others, but the viewers need to look for the honest ones.
I got the travel size and I’m glad I didn’t get the big bottle. It’s nice and I like it but the dry down is the exact same as Victoria Secret Wicked. Very similar so I’m good.
Wedding silk santal is personally one of my faves they’ve ever done. I do think it’s worth the hype but I see your point. I’m a Kayali fan and always will be, I don’t really care about how they advertise I just care how the fragrance smells and if I love it I will buy it and if I don’t, I won’t. They do amazing fragrance and their bottles are insanely beautiful🤍
I’m totally okay with that stance. 💯 Everyone has a right to their opinions and all should be heard. That’s kind of why I filmed the video bc you don’t see much of the other side out there, and yet reading all of these comments makes it clear not everyone feels the same. It’s important that they see someone they can relate to. It doesn’t mean you’re wrong or anyone who loves it. We can support each other and have differing opinions 🫶
Exacto!! Un comentario muy inteligente! Que importa cómo hagan su publicidad!! Lo importante es que sus perfumes gustan a la mayoría. Siempre habrá quien le guste otro tipo de perfumes y es muy respetable, pero yo amo los perfumes de Kayali.
A Really sweet lady I met through Mercari sent me the very last of her bottle of Silk just so I could try it ( for free ). She said it was her favorite and she just want me to be able to try it this was like five months ago with no sign of it returning anytime soon. I thought that was so incredibly kind so I sent her a sample of Baccarat Rouge 540 as She never tried and I happen to have a few samples.❤
Gorllllll I’m shook by this one . I have repurchased this THREE times. It’s one of my most complimented fragrances that I wear. And the hype is worth it imo 😅 (also not on Kayali PR list)
I love this perspective on silk santal. I missed it the first time and fell for the hype this time around. I don’t regret purchasing it, but I expecting more.
Thank you very much for your honest opinion. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to get an honest opinion on the Kayali fragrances as everyone's trying to hype it up. They say it's the best thing when one comes out and then few months after, they don't even remember the fragrance existed. For us who pays for them, it's just not worth it. But still try to get them as we get FOMO.This time however, I got cautious and wanted to get opinions on people who bought it rather than who got them on pr packages.
Absolutely 💯 Kayali seems to be the biggest culprit of that. It’s sad; because, I someone who does get Pr from some brands and will always be honest, regardless. But, so many people aren’t and it taints even my reviews sometimes. That’s why I try to also show Fragrances, makeup, etc. that I do purchase myself, as well. Appreciate your thoughts. 🫶🫶
I also have Ebhar, It smells like a warm apple pie, Its not like entirely gourmand it has those elements though, very well balanced. Very sophisticated fragrance !
To me this the best Kayali fragrance, Although I do agree with the cult-like hype, the under filled expensive bottles and their fomo marketing... so annoying. During the time Silk Santal was “sold out” a middle eastern brand created and EXACT dupe and I’m so happy with it I did not feel the need to buy the original when it came back in stock! It performs way better than Kayali, the bottle is also beautiful and I only paid like $45 bucks for 100ml, it’s called Cotton Abyed by Mamlakat Al Oud… but because it’s a Silk Santal dupe it also goes out of stock pretty often 🙄🙄🙄
I need to grab that dupe! I have the pink bottle flanker of it, with the pink fuzzy haha on my list to grab the other one! Thank you for confirming it’s a spot on dupe 🫶🫶
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I have to say that I don't own, do not ever intend to own nor have I smelled a single Kayli fragrance nor am I interested to even sample it. I'm very turned off by the overhype and the overpricing of it. I did not even know about their marketing strategy, thanks for that enlightened perspective, that is another major turn off. The overhype of so many fragrances online is honestly concerning to me. It does create lack of trust in fragrance reviewers and influencers and manipulates people into not only overconsumption, but also into fear and literal craze. I'm new to the fragrance world and this is concerning to me.
I definitely understand all of this. There is already a new Kayali coming out, and I’m like sigh… here we ago again. So many are already saying it’s going to be the best fragrance of the year. I’m over here like can we smell it first? Why are we saying that???
I appreciate your honesty. I believe a lot of some of these continent creator isn’t honest and they lack integrity. If you’re liking very single fragrance you give a review on, that’s a red flag for me!
Hi Aleisha!!! ❤ This video has been in my watch later for too long! So interested to see your thoughts on this 😊 I've had both Silk Santal and Velvet Santal since the first time they came out. (Just the mini sizes!) I actually really prefer Velvet Santal! And Silk always reminded me so much an earlier Kayali, Deja Vu. You're so right about the PR people, it actually is a little bit weird! 😅 This was very well said! 👏🏻👏🏻 I just don't really care much for this fragrance, and I gave my mini to a friend and she didn't like it and gave it back 🤷🏻♀️😆 I get so much of a cigarette smell from it! I'm sure Mona would not be offended by me saying that, because she's a smart woman who I'm sure understands that everyone perceives fragrance differently and not everyone will love every perfume! Just common sense. ☺️ Great video, I loved the things you had to say about the whole situation ! ❤❤
Thank you so much for this!!! Well, I’m not positive she wouldn’t be offended. From what I have heard, anyone who doesn’t praise Kayali who get it in PR, or potentially, is black balled. That’s so sad to me. Sometimes these brand owners have a hard time with feedback, which is understandable. It has to be excruciating to hear someone say they don’t love something you have your name behind. But, that is what keeps this industry honest. Silencing the bad reviews isn’t helpful. I just watched your content creators video and loved it. I keep hearing your computer voice saying, “it’s not my fault.” 😂
Loved this video ✨ I personally really like this fragrance a lot and did end up grabbing another bottle even after having another from the first release. I think both of the wedding collection fragrances are still one of my favorite releases from the brand. But so many valid points were made and I think that holds true for any fragrance. I also feel like a lot of people that are super into KAYALI fragrances have not drifted so far outside of Sephora, so that also would influence their obsession. I know KAYALI for me was groundbreaking when I first got into fragrance and saw that there was more than just designer fragrances. Plus the aesthetics of the brand like you said😍 Loved your review and hearing your thoughts 💗✨ It was so thorough 🥰🥰
Appreciate this perspective so much!! I do love a few Kayali fragrances and happy to say so. I’m a big fan of Lovefest Burning Cherry, Sparkling Lychee, Vanilla 28, and the Vacay scents. I just don’t have to love them all, and that’s okay. But, it seems as though some people feel like they HAVE to love them all. A lot of the big time loyalists are fragrance lovers who are on the Pr. It’s just a little sus for me. I’m so happy to be connected with real genuine people like you! 🫶🫶
I loved this review! ❤❤❤ I find it so strange that people get so crazy about someone having a different opinion on a fragrance. I find this type of review really helpful - while it may be a very nice fragrance, I appreciate knowing that it doesn't last long and it's not extremely unique, especially when the hype gets so out of control. I also fall for the hype more often than I would like to! I started forcing myself to wait a few days after watching the reviews before deciding to purchase a fragrance because it helps me develop a more balanced perspective on whether I really want or need it. I do often feel disappointed after smelling a new fragrance, since the reviews make it seem like it is going to be the best thing you've ever smelled, and obviously not everything can be at that level. So now before I buy a fragrance I have to remind myself that it's not going to be earth shattering, and that helps me decide if it's something unique enough that I really do want to purchase it, or maybe I decide that I'll wait a bit and if I still really want it after a few weeks I can pick it up. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts - they are much appreciated!
This 👏🏼👏🏼 you said this so articulately. I went through this big time with the beauty sphere. Especially with eyeshadow palettes. I used to want it all and believed I needed it all. Now I assess if it’s a palette that is unique to my collection or if it’s a brand I fully trust in the formula. I take a beat to decide, as well. The same can definitely be said with fragrance. 🫶🥹
I never thought about the intricacies of the atomizer and how powerful it sprays for lasting scents, etc. very interesting and learned a lot from you, as always. Some great points. This one sounds so up my alley but I do know what you mean about these hyped products. 😂 sometimes I think there are certain brands that just are going to be “the” brand kind of like the Natasha Denona of the makeup world lol. I think part of it is definitely that you are truly a connoisseur that knows your fragrances and have so many. So you do know when something is truly unique lol.
Very good point friend!! I do try to keep in mind my collection is not the norm, but I do also like offering some of these more affordable options for those who don’t want to drop $100 or who keep missing out bc they keep selling out 🫶🫶
I got mine before two weeks, I wish it was more dense and long lasting. I put it back in the box hopes it will macerate. Thank you for your honesty I just subscribed.
Omg Silk Santal is my fav perfume in my collection 😆 I bought a back up. It gets better with time. My husband's fav scent on me as well. Ahhh it is so unique in my collection. haha sorry it didn't meet your expectations. Kayali is my fav fragrance brand. 😂 I still love hearing your thoughts sweet friend. 🤍💍
I know you love it, and it’s a beautiful fragrance! I think the marketing strategy shoots itself in the foot with the whole scarcity tactics and PR people hyping it up a little too much. Otherwise I think I would have said it met my expectations.
@@aleishabudgetbeauty I thought it was meh at first. I didn't give it the best review on my channel. It took a little while to grow on me. It's like it was watered down vanilla for the first 3 ish weeks. Then it turned into heaven haha. I've never seen a negative review from anyone who has ever received a Kayali fragrances in pr 😆
I don’t like Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar at all!! It’s a shame because the bottle is beautiful and it had the potential to be a good one!! However, I do enjoy Silk Santal. I agree it’s not that unique but it’s one of my favorites from the brand.
You’re so right about the VRCS bottle being so pretty 😭 hey, at least we have a pretty decoration. I do think SS is a pretty fragrance for sure. The crazy hype just tainted it a bit for me. But, I still enjoy it 🫶
I am not a fragrance follower on social media. However I got and dupe sample from an Etsy fragrance perfumer (along with 23 other dupes) and I immediately brought the full size dupe version and got the travel size of the KayAli without knowing any of the hype. I too own many, maybe too many fragrances but there is something unique with this fragrance. Is it a bad performer - yes - no projection and last at most 4 hours on skin or clothes. I do enjoy the scent profile of this fragrance and can see why it is so hyped. I will probably never buy the full size due to the performance issues. I still appreciate the artistry.
I love hearing this perspective and really appreciate it. It’s important to hear all sides and opinions. I still think it’s a lovely fragrance just not worth the selling out and fomo and people feeling less than if they can’t get a hold of it. I hate that part. Again, I appreciate you!
It’s hard to be honest in the face of money, especially when you work so hard to build an audience. But it’s like you said, you want your audience to trust you, so honesty really is the best policy, PR be damned 😅. Love the video ❤
I’m glad I didn’t give in to the hype on this one. I really don’t need it, I love the vanilla 28 and since it’s aged it has gotten better! And Thanks for being so honest!! I also really like that middle eastern fragrance you mentioned :)
I got a mini bottle of this. FOMO I like it but only wore it once. Thank you for the honest review. I wish I had a large bottle actually. I don’t have many Kayali fragrances and I feel they are a bit more affordable than other houses in retail price. I hope I will have another opportunity to get this one and other Kayali fragrances
For me, silk santal had to sit and macerate for a month or so and it became so good once it did! Hope it does the same for you. The vanilla became more prominent and deeper. And blended well with the other notes.
Thank you for your sharing this! I am rather new to the fragrance world and I find it odd that most love everything? I mean everything? I don’t like 540. I bought it- thankfully a decanter size - and I am underwhelmed. However EVERY video I have watched makes me feel crazy. This is a mature honest approach I can get behind. I did buy the 10 ml of wedding because I enjoyed a sample I had. But I too did not think the 100 dollar bottle was necessary. Was afraid to say so outloud😂. I have a decant if Mod I will circle back today. Thanks doll! You have gained at least one new follower
Aww welcome!!! Thank you so much! You went to hear a secret? 🤫 I’m not that crazy about 540 either hah haha 🤣 it’s actually not a secret. I would say it no problem. It’s very overpriced in my opinion. I’m fine with the 100000 dupes of it. 👏🏼👏🏼
I went down a whole rabbit hole of fragrance, as many of us do, and it gets very confusing. You are right to get decants and samples - our chemistry is all different and also our personal taste. I felt like I had to pull back and think rationally about all of these influencers and fragrances.
Hey friend!🙋🏻♀️ I always get so excited when I see you’ve got a new video!🤓 I always wondering if there was something similar to this infamous KAYALI perfume🤣😋
Totally agree about wanting honesty. I bought 3 of the 10ml bottles (total of 90 euros, I mean, that's still a lot of money for 30ml of juice...) and they're really nothing special at all imo
I will never buy Kayali due to their marketing strategy. It's purely based on FOMO and free PR for lacklustre fragrances (imo). They're not the only brand doing the free PR hype, but they are the worst for the 'ltd edition' hype and seem to target young people more. The resale market is always full of their stuff before it's officially released, which tells you how genuine some of those reviews are.
I agree. The fragrances are extremely lackluster. I've purchased 3 mini to try out based on notes/reviews and I've hated them all. 3 strikes and you're out.
I love your honest review. I got it and it’s nice. I am going to let it sit to see if it gets better. Now if you layer it with Safanad…it turns into a totally different gorgeous fragrance. I would keep Silk Santal just for that combo. It’s like the two bring out the best in each other. I have a dupe from Andromeda’s Moon that I actually think is better. It smells a little richer and lasts longer. I’ve been hearing about a ME perfume, Cotton Abyed that’s not a dupe but similar.
Appreciate these ideas, too! I am enjoying it for sure, but I also just felt the need to bring a little perspective; because, the hype was outrageous. I have heard that about the Cotton Abyed, as well. I’m tempted to test that.
@@aleishabudgetbeauty I agree, I don’t think it lives up to the hype. To me, I feel like I have to layer it with something else before it’s a “wow” fragrance. For the price, it should be a wow on its own.
I’m debating on whether to get this or the Donna Karan Cashmere and Palo Santo. Both are pretty pricy in Canada. The Wedding Santal is still available here in Canada and not sold out. May wait for the Sephora sale and grab a travel size. Thanks for sharing alternatives! 😊
Go with the Donna Karan one. It is a compliment beast. I have Silk Santal, it's nice. To be honest, Velvet Santal is the better fragrance over Silk Santal.
Re: dent. The bottles all shipped out only 90% full. It's in every review/unboxing, etc. Mine did as well and a Sephora rep verified they had gotten complaints.
I love kayali perfumes they do good on my skin i find them naturel ingrediënes , but unfortunately kayali the wedding sence were not released in the Netherlands, i dont like sugar rock candy greetings from the Netherlands
Hello!! Welcome 🫶 She made it permanent now, which, is sneaky in my opinion. All of the people who rushed to buy back ups. Maybe it will be released in the Netherlands soon. You’ll have to let me know your thoughts if you get to try it. 🫶
I think most Kayali fragrances are overhyped. I fell for it with Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar but never again. Yum Pistachio Gelato was also a disappointment.
After falling for the hype of Silk Santal and knowing that I do not like Vanilla 28 and it got decluttered.I waited to smell the Candy Rock Sugar at Sephora and thank goodness I did because the scent was very juvenile and sickly sweet. I have come to the realization that the Kayali House is not for me and will not spend another penny purchasing their fragrances.
Better to know now and change course 👏🏼👏🏼 I do love Lovefest Burning Cherry. That one is more grown up to me, and Marrakech challenged people’s noses. But agree about several others. So glad we have so many other houses to choose from 🫶🫶
I let the hype of the first launch of this one get me. I even waited a couple weeks to get there release and I was pretty underwhelmed with this. It smells like different versions of kayali fragrances I already own. I agree with the PR reviews it eas pretty evident with the rock candy releases. Everyone on the pr list uploaded a TH-cam short with the exact same verbiage. It was as if she sent them a script
Last years silk Santal was so much better! It had this light airy opening with nectarine, and then the dry down was this nice sandalwood/praline/vanilla. Addictive. This newer version is way more floral than I remember and I’m hoping it just needs time
Vanilla, amber, and musk are all pretty. I wouldn't buy a bottle of any of them though . There are many other fragrances in those scents that I like far, far better.
@@ashleyh.2112 there are so many great ones! Some are really pricey 😕 I stopped getting coffee out and eating out to justify my perfumes. Grand Soir, silky woods, gentle fluity gold, afternoon delight, commodity gold, fresh cream, Blanche Bete, cashmere mist, Nemate vanilla musk
Hi Aleisha, I completely agree with every point made in this video about Silk Santal. Nice perfume, but the way everyone was willing to go to the corners of the earth for it.... . And you are spot on with the bizarre parasocial phenomenon. No shade to the brand at all, but the obsession from content creators is a whole case study unto itself.
girrrrrl... speak the truth! I bought the mini and love it but I agree with all the points you made. Vanilla Rock Sugar didn’t impress me either. On the other hand I always have a Vanilla 28 in my collection. Mona is great with marketing and had a very dedicated customer base. Every release gets attention. I applaud her for that.
I love hearing everyone’s feedback on this and honestly, this is how it always should be. Sharing our thoughts and opinions/experiences without being afraid of backlash. Appreciate you 🫶🫶
YES the Kayali worship is insane! Everyone acts like Mona is their BFF lol. I got Silk Santal and it's pretty but overhyped, same with VCRS. Vanilla 28 is a top 3 for me though.
I am over here saying preach as I have tried her base line but nothing past her Cherry fragrance which I have a bottle of because I like it. But for me it's an overrated brand In my opinion. Vanilla 28 is meh and it is so hyped still. Plus it's super expensive as a Canadian - you best believe I won't be paying that if it doesn't last! Mod vanilla is gorgeous and it lasts which I love.
Mona is love bombing the community and people feel obligated to return that love, it seems. I find it rather strange and NOT really trustworthy. but PR works… I dont really like the brand for the same reason.. ❤ 😊
I completely agree. I have quite a few kayali fragrances and they smell very nice, HOWEVER longevity doesn’t exist. They last like 3 hrs on the skin and then I have to reapply throughout the day. The only one that doesn’t have longevity issues is vanilla royale. But everything else just doesn’t last. Silk Santal is way overhyped. To me velvet santal is wayyyy better. But that’s my opinion. See it’s so hard to trust a lot of the influencers now because they don’t want to say anything negative so that they can stay in these companies PR list. The make up community was the same way and I stopped watching a lot of them because of that but now it’s crossing over into the fragrance community. I don’t know if I’m the only one that has noticed that.
Yes bc fragcomm has blown up, makeup is dying. Agree also about the longevity but their initial releases seem to last. A macerated/dark Vanilla 28, Sweet Diamond is so potent, Invite Only but I didn't like it, etc.
Ohhhh you are definitely not alone. It has crossed over to the fragrance community, sadly. I think one problem is a lot of the makeup beauty creators are obsessed with PR and free stuff, and they have jumped over to fragrance. And, illogically, a lot of fragrance brands have been gifting fragrances to beauty creatures instead of their loyal knowledge perfume lovers. Makes no sense to me.
@@aleishabudgetbeauty yes I have noticed that too. Probably because the beauty influencers have a bigger following than some of the fragrance creators. It’s business at the end of the day to them. Which sucks.
@@aleishabudgetbeauty actually it's intentional. If a makeup influencer recommends a perfume, ppl see it as more "authentic" because they're not in the business of pushing perfume, so they appear more like "regular folks" in that domain. That's why makeup influencers are also doing "non makeup favorites" and sponsorships with random stuff like fashion, supplements, etc.
I'm sorry but the exaggerated hype over kayali is on the brand. Mona and the brand are under every fucking post that mentions kayali and most influencers are obviously afraid of offending them.
Thank you for this video. To tell you the truth, I succumbed a bit to this craze for Silk Sental and was, to put it mildly, highly annoyed when the fragrance reappeared only in the US and Canada. As a resident of the EU, I felt offended by the discrimination that the Kayali brand had introduced. In addition, the prices of its fragrances in the US are quite a bit lower than in Europe. But the hype is doing its job. What Kayali is doing is a working, but not entirely ethical marketing strategy to make customers feel they must have the fragrance. Fortunately, you helped me break free from this “charm.” Yes, they have beautiful bottles, especially if you buy 10ml, but the fragrances really aren't special and unique. Some are great, but others are just meh. Definitely worth looking at other houses.
Thank you so much for this feedback. I honestly didn’t even know about the Europe market. Not surprised but also disheartening. 😔 I’m happy this discussion has helped with the fomo 🫶🫶
Vanilla candy rock sugar is one of my for life fragrances. I’ve always had vanilla 28 in my collection but only just recently started really loving it. Silk is OK but not for me. Velvet is a love, it’s like a more every day angel share very comforting, and a little goes a long way. 💜🤎🖤

It kinda smells like the lovely Casablanca!!
It sure does smell similar! I was wearing both the other day and get more caramel vibes from Casablanca, but sooo close
@@aleishabudgetbeauty Anytime!! I also have the pink one but I think that one is just ok and I don’t think it’s duping anyone
I look forward to all your videos ❤
Thank you 🥹🥹
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
@aleishabudgetbeauty totally!
absolutely had to sub for this video alone. i thought i was the only person who didn’t get this fragrance, so glad i found you 💕
Welcome sister! You’re in good company 🫶🫶
I appreciate your honesty. I believe a lot of some of these continent creator isn’t honest and they lack integrity. If you’re liking very single fragrance you give a review on, that’s a red flag for me!
Thank you for affirming that we have to stay as objective as possible. I appreciate you. 🫶
Wow!! So proud of you for being real, my friend!!! More power to you! ❤ 💪
Aw thank you 🥹🥹🫶
Hi Aleisha!!!
I just don't really care much for this fragrance, and I gave my mini to a friend and she didn't like it and gave it back 🤷🏻♀️😆 I get so much of a cigarette smell from it! I'm sure Mona would not be offended by me saying that, because she's a smart woman who I'm sure understands that everyone perceives fragrance differently and not everyone will love every perfume! Just common sense. ☺️
Great video, I loved the things you had to say about the whole situation !
I have a feeling it will get better over time. I hope you end up really happy about it. That’s the hope! 🥹🥹 thank you! Welcome 🫂
Yes, I did too when I received my bottle.
But, I still enjoy it 🫶
I really appreciate your honesty 😊💄❤️
Always 🫶🫶🫶
I'm going to get my first one & the Wedding black one also Mid-month in November, cause they say it's Unisex?
I think the black one is unisex leaning slightly masculine
You’re definitely okay without it sister!🫶🫶
Trick to make the fragrance last…. Rub a little bit of Vaseline oil in the areas that you are applying the perfume. I actually use the Vaseline stick.
Yes that’s always a good hack 🫶💯
I got a mini bottle of this. FOMO I like it but only wore it once. Thank you for the honest review. I wish I had a large bottle actually. I don’t have many Kayali fragrances and I feel they are a bit more affordable than other houses in retail price. I hope I will have another opportunity to get this one and other Kayali fragrances
Maybe during the Sephora sale! That’s the time to do it for a little extra $ off 🫶🫶
For me, silk santal had to sit and macerate for a month or so and it became so good once it did! Hope it does the same for you. The vanilla became more prominent and deeper. And blended well with the other notes.
I hear that’s a strong possibility yay!
I think these five are similar but not dupes 🫶🫶
Fomo is real, thanks for your opinion and giving some fun alternatives, hope you have a wonderful day ❤
I am so glad this helps with the FOMO! 💖💖
Totally agree about wanting honesty. I bought 3 of the 10ml bottles (total of 90 euros, I mean, that's still a lot of money for 30ml of juice...) and they're really nothing special at all imo
Aw man I’m sorry! My hope is that they will mature and get better over time
Just subscribed from South Africa 🇿🇦
Aw thank you!! Welcome!!
This is such a good point! The resale market is a whole different beast and topic to discuss. And, how these launches end up there.
I agree. The fragrances are extremely lackluster. I've purchased 3 mini to try out based on notes/reviews and I've hated them all. 3 strikes and you're out.
I really love the scent but it doesn’t last on me. Even when I overspray, I can’t really smell it so that was disappointing.
I think that’s prob the list disappointing part 💯💯
I have had Cashmere on my list. Thanks for confirming🫶🫶
I agree. I have both , but that Donna Karen is chef's kiss. Complement getter. Longer lasting.
Re: dent. The bottles all shipped out only 90% full. It's in every review/unboxing, etc. Mine did as well and a Sephora rep verified they had gotten complaints.
I did notice that!!😭🫣
ooof, hate when that happens. maybe they're getting a good deal with being a loyal promoter? either way, love your honest reviews as always!
They get more free stuff haha can’t buy my opinions or gift me them haha
How do you feel about ysl babycat?
Honestly, I have only smelled the dupe, Rifaaqat by Paris Corner, which is a deep love for me.

@@aleishabudgetbeauty i dont think it will be released in the Netherlands, we have so many perfumes here
I think most Kayali fragrances are overhyped. I fell for it with Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar but never again. Yum Pistachio Gelato was also a disappointment.
I do like some, and love some like Lovefest Burning Cherry. BUT, I do think they are always overhyped, absolutely.
So glad we have so many other houses to choose from 🫶🫶
I actually really enjoy this one. Was only able to get a mini bottle :(. (Refuse to pay more than retail for it)
Oh for sure. That mark up people do is wrong 😭
And if reviewers are afraid to be honest for fear of being taken off PR lists, they aren’t someone who I trust
Do you have a video on your Britney Spears Fantasy flankers?
Funny you ask! I have had that planned for the beginning of November!!! So, coming soon!🫶🫶
Yes!! I have been waiting so patiently for a Britney Spears perfume video!🙌🏻😱
@@aleishabudgetbeautyYay! 🙌😊 Ty so much! I bought the Fantasy Candy because of you and love it!
Ohhhh that’s a great point about a script! I can definitely see that. Really don’t like that 😭
I am still waiting for Silk Santal to arive to Europe. Maybe we will not have the opportunity to buy it. So thank you for alternatives.
You’re so welcome 😉
Last years silk Santal was so much better! It had this light airy opening with nectarine, and then the dry down was this nice sandalwood/praline/vanilla. Addictive. This newer version is way more floral than I remember and I’m hoping it just needs time
Ohhh this is very interesting 🤨 I’m sure it will at least develop a little over time as most of them do. I get virtually no nectarine from mine.
yes mod vanilla with a peach or nectarine body spray to top it off
I’m going to do that 🫶🫶

Hi Aleisha, I completely agree with every point made in this video about Silk Santal. Nice perfume, but the way everyone was willing to go to the corners of the earth for it.... . And you are spot on with the bizarre parasocial phenomenon. No shade to the brand at all, but the obsession from content creators is a whole case study unto itself.

I bought the mini and love it but I agree with all the points you made. Vanilla Rock Sugar didn’t impress me either. On the other hand I always have a Vanilla 28 in my collection. YES the Kayali worship is insane! Everyone acts like Mona is their BFF lol. I got Silk Santal and it's pretty but overhyped, same with VCRS. Vanilla 28 is a top 3 for me though.
I will say, I always appreciate that the brand acknowledges people’s world and tags on social media, but that is a team of people, not Mona herself. 🫣

I’m so glad the discussion helps affirm people’s feelings and knowing you aren’t alone here 🫶🫶
Mona is love bombing the community and people feel obligated to return that love, it seems.
I find it rather strange and NOT really trustworthy.
but PR works…
I dont really like the brand for the same reason.. ❤ 😊
That’s a very real way to put it!
That's why makeup influencers are also doing "non makeup favorites" and sponsorships with random stuff like fashion, supplements, etc.
lol, sounds like a kayali cult 😮
Hahaha you’re not wrong
I bought into tne hype.
Very boring..
They do a great job of making people think it’s the best thing ever. 😭
Waoo you talk to much to suggested other perfumes similars...nothing bad with this, .just tell us..and its ok...
Wait I’m confused. Can you expatiate please?
I'm sorry but the exaggerated hype over kayali is on the brand. Mona and the brand are under every fucking post that mentions kayali and most influencers are obviously afraid of offending them.
I cannot argue with that unfortunately 😔
