    In this video recording, Metropolitan Pavlos of Sisanion and Siatista (+2019) tells us a real story of an old woman who confessed to him and preferred rather to go to hell than to forgive her neighbor. The metropolitan then used a harsh method, which ultimately proved successful.

      How do we pray for others who are not Christian? Or we don't know what they are, because its professional relationship, but they cause us problems.
      Which prayers do you reccomend.

    Hard stuff, forgiveness. It's not easy being nice to someone who's treated you badly. Then again... I'VE treated people badly. Forgive, O Lord, those that hate us, and those that love us. ☦

    our level of forgiveness can reach very holy levels, just imagine christ on the cross and his last words, "father please forgive them, because they dont know what they are doing"
    he showed us a pure state of forgiveness

    I'm Roman Catholic. JESUS Has a Plan for me in bringing this Channel to my feed since yesterday.
    The other homily was much longer and I couldn't pause till the finish. So effective was it. 👌👌
    Right now, this came up, right after my Rosary, which I've downloaded on the phone.
    I've subbed, liked and hit the notifications🔔.
    Very significantly, forgiveness is still new to me. Am a work in progress on this issue.
    WAOW... was the Elder's message And the awesome Comments just cut out for souls like me !!!! No second take on that.

    One time a Saint was exorcising a demon from a possessed person and was questioning the demon if there is anything that he hates so much. The demon replied "to ask forgiveness or to forgive". The priest said it correctly, "he did not expel the old woman but almost a demon". God is Love and unforgiveness is like the total opposite of Love. "14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15

    Forgiveness is hard, especially when one is not ready to forgive. In my own experience, I had to ask God to help me forgive someone who had wronged me so painfully, I wanted to die.
    I had to forgive her, but it was hard to do when I was just going through the motions. So I asked God to help and I realized I had to forgive her more than once. I had to do it over and over until one day, I meant it.

    I used to be like this Grandma. I used to hate so passionately that I felt it was God's error to have presented me with such people. I did not care what came of this hatred as I blamed God for my existence. It brought me to Hell. I have destroyed people in my life. Emotionally and spiritually. More than anything I hope they have been brought back to heaven by God and healed. I didn't truly know what I was doing, I was blinded by my own pain and it mixed with hatred. Christ came into my heart one day and sparked it, and lighted my being with his love. I can see that the devil gets a hold of people through their unresolved pain and traumatic memories/experiences. I'm blessed with Christ's grip which is eternally more powerful. I don't see people anymore I just see emanations of God. My family. My home in my heart. Thank you for saving my life, Christ. I only wish to be a servant of Love.

      I used to be like you were and in my mind, far worse.
      I'd pacify myself in saying and wishing they'd have to pay.
      Sadly, many of them met with misfotunes and I'd find "satisfaction" in that, rather than sympathy. ( Can anything be worse ?? ) 😈👹😈👹
      So grateful to JESUS and Mama MARY for Rescuing me from my own self, because Satan canNot mislead us Unless we Allow him to.

    One day I was praying. All of a sudden I was deep in meditation & I saw my sins as God sees my sins. My heart was black as black could be. I was headed straight to hell... by my own choices...I saw clearly...& I had thought I was just fine! I changed my ways. I attend mass daily now & I pray 4 decades of the rosary every day. I attend confession. Read only spiritual literature. Attend to many other devotions. I totally changed my ways. I beg God to fill my heart with his perfect love every day. My life had changed. And I don't need to take psych meds anymore either! Bonus! I saw i had to forgive everyone! Totally! I don't want to go to hell!

    I have a niehbor who keeps attacking my building. He has accused that the building was illegally built. However records show from 1903 that in fact the way it currently sits is correct. I have time and time again prayed that he would come to his sences but had yet to do so. He has put cameras around the property and provokes me to be violent with him. However I rebuke him. I pray that God handles these things.

      He sounds very stubborn. Have you drawn his attention to the records? I pray with you that God will resolve this in such a manner that will glorify His name and bring this man to his knees before God in repentence and faith because his salvation is the most important thing.       @@colmwhateveryoulike3240 When he sent me legal documents I replied with all the information. His condemnation of me and the building is unfounded for both of us weren't even born when these buildings were constructed. I've sent him notice to stop. I've known him forever our families were friends but something happened to his family after his parent's (who were the original owners of the building) died. He doesn't communicate with his other siblings because of a property dispute regarding the inheritance. I have chosen to stay away from him. For his action make me very upset. It takes two to fight and I don't want any part of it. Thats when I pray for my own salvation and I put it in Gods hands.

    Sometimes after efforts of humble prayer, recognising my own faults, I get certain feelings about the weakness and fragility of others with whom I had been in dispute or state of quarrel before. The feelings moved me to compassion, but it's hard when being burdened with problems of your own you find having to bear the burden of those close to you, on top of it all.

    God forgives His followers provided that we confess our mistakes and repent from them. We are to forgive like He does: we cannot forgive unless the offender offers his apologies, like we do to Him. Forgiveness is not cheap and is a two-way street.

    This reminded of saint Titus of the monastery of the Kiev caves where the saint had a feud with another monk Evagrios his name was and when the saint fell ill he asked for forgiveness from Evagrios he refused he said he would rather go to hell and after Evagrios said those words he died and the saint recovered. Everyone was scares and tried to be forgiving

      @@Lasharella Evagrios died after he said he would rather go to hell than forgive the saint and the saint said he saw an angel hit Evagrios with a spear and the same angel healed and lifted the saint from his bed. A very powerful example of refusing to forgive someone may Christ give us the gift of forgiveness

I have 2 people I had little argument and haven’t spoken since, I did forgive them in my heart but haven’t met them to tell them in person thinking calling them

      Metropolitan Paul wasn't an ecumenist. No Orthodox Christian is. The Orthodox Church is the only way to salvation, no heresy saves. This is the opinion of all Orthodox saints, old and new (from Saint Cyprian of Carthage to Saint Porphyrios). Come to the One Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, (for He only has One Body) accept the true faith, and you too shall be saved. God bless you and enlighten your heart☦

    Forgiveness is more than a simple act of faith and good will. It's to take the transgressions that are done to you and respond with blessings. It's to break the chain of sin and plant love instead of spreading the hate that was inflicted to you.

    So I follow this deliverance ministry (if you haven't heard of Derek Prince, a real soldier of Christ that man!). Anyway, this brother brother Noah Hines taught that unrepentance and unforgiveness are two of the biggest things that prevent demons from loosening their hooks completely. He said the best thing to do apart from renouncing it in prayer is to picture all the resentment, pain and animosity you have inside and imagine taking it up and placing it before the LORD Jesus Christ's feet. Then ask him to take it and he will be faithful. This has worked for me.

    Loved this. Reminds me of being confessed by traditional Latin priests, they actually dialogue with you. Not the Novus Ordo where they will just listen and then grant you absolution. Sometimes you need to be given a slight ticking off, or made to see the “error of your ways”. Love this E. Orthodox priest.

    This is absolutely true. Today there are loads of people that would rather enter the gloominess of hell then to forgive someone for something stupid. Some even say I do not want to go to heaven because my enemy is there or a repentant murderer or whatever. God is hated because he is Perfect love and nobody has perfect love but him.

    We do things deserving of destruction daily and yet God does not deal thus with us... Who then, am I that I would withhold mercy and forgiveness of another. Life is too short. I will not escape the hand of the ALMIGHTY, none of us will and we will ALL stand before the judgment seat of Christ, therefore it is meet that I get my little rear end in line with His will and His ways. Better to live in obedience with a clear conscience than to live lawlessly as if I am my own boss...I am not. There is One inside me who pokes me when I do wrong and I'm grateful that God has not utterly left me to my own devices, nor has He cast me away

    My mother at about age 70 had a horrible fight with my Baba(her mother aged 90). When I came home from work to pick up my 5 year old daughter. My mother refused to talk about it or why or what happened. She called my cousin to pick her up NOW or she'd be out on the street!!!??? My mother forbade me to speak to her EVER AGAIN or she would refuse to babysit my daughter EVER! We were financially bereft so her babysitting helped us immensely...so what to do??!! Begged my mom to let me just call Baba a few times, but to no avail. My Baba died soon after and my mother threw up during the entire funeral and REFUSED to watch her be buried. I nursed my mom at home while she was dying of cancer. When our Batushka came to give my mom Holy Unction,, confession etc...I begged him to tell me if she finally forgave my Baba. He said he obviously could not reveal what transpired. I pray that she finally forgave my zBaba. That weighs upon me to thus very day...20 years later. And I beg God's mercy for my not talking to BABA. It was a horrible burden my mother placed on me. I pray that she FINALLY forgave my Baba.

    I thought i knew love...but am called to love in an other level again... Am called to forgive again and i dont mind forgiving but i mind let them think they have the right to come into my life again... i don't trust them anymore...i don't know yet how i will solve this what answer is the best... but i hope i overcome this

    When I was like in middle school I was arguing with my sister and our mother was in a heroin addicted stupor sleeping and my sister swore at me and our mother some how heard my sister swear and chased my sister around the house till my sister jumped on her bed in her bedroom and turned her back to our mother and Maggie jumps on the bed and turns my sister over and bites her on the face now I'm standing in the door way of the room and am just shocked but I'm also frozen and don't know what to do I'm scared to help my sister but just felt powerless and the way we had been treated our whole life I figured we just had it coming for some reason.

    If you do not wish the one who wronged you to go to hell, but hope they might hear the Good News of Salvation and respond, and be forgiven and made right with God through His Son Jesus Christ, and when you realize that you too were once as ignorant in your sin and blindness, as the person who is harming you- this may be close to forgiveness. And when you want to be God-like in that God hardly mentions our sins against us, but acts as if He hardly notices them at all, so we in turn turn a blind eye to the faults of others realizing that they may be struggling privately with their sins as much or maybe even more as I am struggling with mine- these things lead to forgiveness.

    Forgive, but remember that forgiveness doesn’t mean to please people but not to harm them.
    Besides, when people clearly show you that they don’t like you, you should not push them to accept you.
    “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

    Forgiveness is the one virtue that makes us the most like Christ. Jesus forgave those who crucified Him.
    Everyday I pray for the churches to forgive each other for the pain they have caused each other in the past, specially the great schism in the 11th century between the Church of Rome and the Orthodox Church, and unite. Division and discord comes from Satan but unity and love comes from God, our Heavenly Father. Unfortunately there’s an ongoing hostility between them and it has been politicized.
    “Father, let them be one as you and I are one”.
    Jesus is so hurt bc of our divisions. We don’t even celebrate Easter on the same date...🙏🙏🙏

    Loving ones enemies and forgiving them is too much for me, honestly. As far as personality goes, Islam would be a better fit for me. But Islam is false, only Orthodox Christianity is true and Christ's Church. But that doesn't mean I like it, I wish Christ wouldn't given such commandments.

    It's a shame. If you dont forgive you cannot be forgiven. Elohim, Adonai, The son of Man. CHRIST DIED on the cross, to forgive us of our sins. He died, breath left body. We experience not even a half of that pain he experienced when he died on the cross. We have by his crucifixion, by his strength the might to forgive. It's not easy but neither was it for him. Whenever I feel the anger or sadness of not wanting to forgive, and holding a grudge against that person, I beat myself of course not self affliction to harm but I'd rather release it on my self than others for revenge makes no amends.

    It has nothing to do with hell...
    When you have faced injustice it is almost impossible to forgive.
    Forgiveness let's darkness continue in this world. Let's people get away with the 'unforgivable'.
    How do you forgive an expartner from lying to the family court.
    When she knows your a perfectly good father.
    For stopping you seeing your kids.
    Stopping you from taking part in their lives. Seeing them grow up.
    How do you forgive the court for acting on lies?
    When you have faced injustice you are already in hell. They only way to release you from your anger is to put the injustice right.
    It's easy to say the words I forgive.
    But sometimes it's very very hard to feel it.
    There are people bitter over petty things. For sure.
    But that is not always the case...
    Wroth belongs to those who have been wronged.
    This is how God ensures natural justice in this world is maintained.

      Hacker M F Psofa Look, in one way you are right, but in the other way Metropolitan Pavlos of Sisanion and Siatista have done a lot of speeches and written many books about the family, about the relationship between parents and kids, about the love among husband and wife in the marriage and so many others family's issues.. If you seek on YT or on internet, you'll find a lot of them... He was an enlightened man by the Holy spirit and also he had a lot of experience of these issues, thanks to that many marriage couples taht had confessed by him, so he could teach them useful things, even if he never could be a married man.

      Now I hope the new man there at, will be proactive on the deathening issues plaguing that society there, and stop answering with __yup we have this and that situation__ and that's it, nothing more.

    How can you say that with Christ on the Cross behind you? He asked for forgiveness. Now it's up to you to forgive ot not. We leave this Earth with debts towards others and ourselves. It's up yo God to judge this. You , Ortothix Church, are not perfect. You have enough on your plate!!!
    I have forgiven so many for my own sake. To feel my healing while I can.
