    I like the look of the raised beds. My issue is they are too low. I am putting in 30" high beds and they are better for my back. Filled bottom of them with hugelkultur method. Great inspirational video.

    This was such a nice video to watch. All kinds of tips thrown in here and there. Still to cold here for to plant anything but my cold weather loving plants. My daffodils just died off yesterday. They even survived a snowstorm. I hope your family lives close to share in your wonderful bounty. That was a nice picture of your wife makes me think you are a very lucky man a beautiful woman that cooks delicious real food. I hope you have an abundant harvest this year.

      The weather here has finally started warming and it looks like danger of frost may be over for us. They are predicting high 70s by the weekend. That picture was almost 18 years ago and I am definitely lucky to have her. Hopefully it will be a great gardening season for everyone. Stay safe. Thanks for watching.

    Just ran across your Channel you're amazing.The way you repurposed everything you need to save you some money "quite a bit." And also love the way you removed those posts out of the ground .So smart except you needed a helper ,would have been easier on your legs and back. Your plants are looking great I just got my small things out today want to start a raised bed next year if God's willing take care God bless I'll be watching. Thanks for the ideas

      Thanks. I am switching over to all raised beds because they are easy to care for and very productive plus have good drainage compared to the soil in the garden. Hopefully you will find other videos that interest you. Thanks for watching.

    We don't have our garden sectioned off like that in raised beds but we have a regular tilled garden. Weather is like yours. We finally managed our potatoes and onions. Have garlic, Kale and bunching onions up from last year. Hoping our newly planted strawberries will survive. Keep on truckin'!

    thats the same raised bed i bought! its also my first. and i am loving it! red leaf lettuce, yellow onions, green onions, corn (for the beans), broad leaf spinach, a few flowers to attract the bee's, radishes, green beans and luffa...today i am finishing my gourd tunnel, which will be between the bed, and my shed.

    I like your nice neat garden. Drives me crazy to see some of these gardens that are like a crazy quilt! Try Hog wild bbq sauce. They are in Hiutchinson KS and now in Wichita, Salina etc. But, I think their sauce is best. I like it better than sweet baby Ray's and better than all the other kinds in KC and everywhere. It has a hint of chili powder flavor but not spicy

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is one of the best raised bed gardens I've seen. very nice detail in your videos. You are a one person show? Does your wife ever help you? My wife does more of the work outside then I do some weeks.

      Thanks. It is so much easier to care for then the old big garden. My wife used to do a lot but now has serious back issues with severe double scoliosis causing lots of pain and tries to do what she can to help anymore. It's tough getting old. Thanks for watching.

      Thank you so much 😊. There is a video about making the wings back a couple years. The beds are made of very thin material but work good. I think they will last for many years if you're careful. You use the same methods for driving conduit that I do. Been using conduit for my tomato cages and cattle panel for over 20 yrs. I don’t have my garden planted yet either. It’s been raining about every other day and the temps have been running 10 to 20 degrees below normal and I live down here in the Kansas City area. Still feels like March down here!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The conduit works good for things like this and is easy to find. We have a record cold may so far and I just stopped firing up the woodstove the end of last week. This comming week looks good for planting. Thanks for watching.

    Just ordered some of these myself. I remember watching this video when you posted it and just went back and re-watched part 1 and 2. I'm extending my garden for the fall and decided on these.
    Also, random suggestion; Have you considered doing an "about me" video or something? I think it would be super interesting to hear your back story. Such as how you got started woodworking and gardening, where you learned to do so. I think ive heard you mention you're retired, I always find myself trying to guess what your occupation is/was.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was Unemployed for 13 years before retiring. I was a mechanical design engineer replaced by H1B visa workers that got mad and dropped out of the workforce. Best thing I ever did. I helped bring a lot of the high tech products we use today to life. Thanks for watching.
