The Tripper Mercury was used in a hilarious deck in Duel Links. Basically the deck is all trap monsters (including the Monarch that changes attributes). Lower your LP to trigger either Draw Sense High Level or Water to add Mercury to hand and then summon it and attack, hopefully for game.
Pluto was my quote on quote ace monster for a deck that was all about hand knowledge and using said knowledge to my benefit It was for a small tournament a friend of mine hosted where we had to be creative with our decks and not use meta decks or decks like utopia that can easily do a 1 turn kill Basicly a much slower format and pluto (and by extension most of the other planet monsters) were actually very viable despite summoning some of them wasn't straight forward I got second place 😅
Yes golden the Yu-Gi-Oh manga continuity is strange indeed instead of Scared beasts as anti God equivalent we got wicked gods instead of neos we got Terra firma and the planet series cards along with winged kuriboh gaining prominence alongside light & darkness dragon and for 5d's the signer dragons aren't all heroic cards they actually are powerful duel spirits connect to the crimson dragon evil mirror counterpart
I for one, ADORE the Fairy Pile of Splendid Venus, Freya Spirit of Victory, Soul of Purity and Light, Tethys Goddess of Light and a few others make up. Its something i always find myself coming back to in every single player game that has the cards to make up the deck.
Man, these GX cards are trying so hard to have worthwhile effects, and they look so rad. Why couldn't they be bothered to have palatable special summoning conditions?
Honestly, with the way power creep is, The Tyrant Neptune could probably be unbanned. The real issue would be copying effects of monsters with mechanics that it can't work with, like detatching material, or link arrows.
It was banned for copying the effect of a scaling burn. There was a Fusion that gained levels for some reason and it would burn for 500 × its level (it was low level to start). Now imagine using Instant Fusion and then trading it for Neptune (a lv10) and burning for 5000.
@@Armament0fJustice I know why it was banned, and even the video said it. This combo loses to a single negate, and the monster has no protection, in a world where FTK decks are the norm, with turn skip cards, and Instant Fusion is limited in physical play and forbidden on Master Duel.
Independent nightingale is unaffected by card effects too. 6000 attack unaffected monster that burns for 5k a turn all off of an instant fusion and a normal summon is a little bit overboard
@@wanderlustwarrior FTK decks don't tend to stick around. Even Konami know how unhealthy they are for the game though they haven't always addressed them correctly. Firewall Dragon pre-errata being one such case.
I once used sanctifire to revive splendid venus in a branded bystial build that actually worked quite well, the problem is that it lacked a lot of things that made the deck a true menace but it was quite fun

Tributing calculator for Neptune in my old batteryman deck was always fun, a minimum 3k on a swarm deck full of attack modification effects. I would also use it to double up on batteryman industrial strength. Banis 2 batteries for industrial strength, banish a thunder to pop a monster and a backrow, tribute industrial for Neptune, banish industrial to pop another monster and backrow.
I have a casial deck I'll update and fuck around with from time to time that plays all but saturn, venus, and terrafirma together, with the nimble monsters and various continuous floodgate type things to use as material. It's not the most consistent deck in the world, but it's a fun one tbh
Domain is a great place for Pluto. With how often people are searching and drawing off theor turns, hands are always full, and it's an awesime political tool to designate a target for other players or set up alliances. Even if you whiff, just say that your target has a scary card in hand or help to set up their plays.
Tyrant Neptune is a demonstration of just how broken copying effects can be. It's easily the best out of this bunch since it ended up banned in the actual card game due to its FTK potential.
So, in an one off Roblox Yugioh game, they had an event where admins had custom planet XYZ cards. It was pretty cool despite not being able to get any of the cards.
Here’s a theory on a deck that Jupiter would be good in, Darkworld Danger decks. They don’t really care about the normal summon a lot of the times and love to be discarded. And the ability to dump 2 at the same time is pretty good, unless it fucks with the timing which is annoying.
When I first started playing yugioh, on duel links, I would use despair uranus on a makeshift fire fist list. I loved his design and how solid the statline was in my eyes
2 of my favorite Planets to use were always Venus and Neptune. I used Venus in some of my favorite Fairy decks like Darklords and The Agents but Neptune I used specifically because of Lyrulisc 👀
Honestly loved some of the archetypes in the manga. Crow hogans deck is just peak. GX manga is incredible too because Terra firma was just such a cool monster along with the Omni heroes, masked hero’s and vision hero’s
i tried making a venom deck years ago and included neptune in it as a secondary boss monster. tributing venom boa and venominon to summon neptune starts it out at least with 3100atk and immunity to venom swamp. it wasnt all that good but kinda fun.

The guy that made the cards was like on vacation and simply forgot to put the ‘THE’ in its name and couldn’t be bothered to fix it. I know this because TGS Anime talked about them and explained why some of them effects are like that and what some are referencing with their card art. I mostly use The Blazing Mars because it works well with Volcanics.
I feel as if they should do a refrain of the Planet Monsters, even if you don’t refrain Terra Firma, the other monsters should become a complete archetype that works together.

Yuya goes with Reiji and others to essentially a higher plane or other dimension to deal with the people who made the big bad. Yuzu who had a crush on Yuya wanders around basically wondering what to do when she bumps into a young Yusho Sakaki implying (and later art confirming) she will be the mother of Yuya, and the other Yu boys (who are Yuya's other personalities/brothers in the manga), which gets a little weird given they were definetly portrayed as potentially romantic earlier. Really gave it a bit of a weird Back To The Future vibe

The manga focused more on the arc that tied back tot he original series. Its actually fairly clever because this arc tied some loose ends and helped bridge the manga/adapted anime concept of the shadow relam to full continuity. The dark realm Zorc formed out of all the hate in humanity from is the shadow realm. Beinga sent there are engulfed in that pure enegativity. Tragoedea was a savant from Cul Elna in the arts of Astrology. As a diplotatic show of good intentions, Atems father had him perosnlly brought to the palce as a high priest as the royal astrologsit. He was initially unaware of the sacrifice to make the items but was the origional iwner of the ting. This actually fits with the OG manga series where it was revealed the ring had an owner before Mahado and is the mspt corrutoing item to its owner. When he found out his city was slayghtered by orders from the pharaoh he felt betrayed. Before he could face the ruler, the other priest confronted and banished him tot he shadow relam. He was the first to be selt there and thus melded with it in time. He became a demonic presence like Zorc. We know the Pharoh was becoming greatly corrupted by just the presence of Zorc in the puzzle and thats why he came outas the sadistic Yami. It stands to reason that Tragoedea would only be so much more devolved into a monster in the place where all of the dark energy that Zorc formed from pools. He still kept a level of his human identity though, which is whe he chose yo vrrate the planet series as a tool for his vengence. The fact the Sun is a dark fiend is sepciefcally an insult at the royals and priests who entrapped him. He is mocking thier beliefs and wielding an inverse versuon of how they see their highest god agaisnt the world. Just like in relaity, the planets ar rtheir own things but do make up a greater related system. They also are the central point of the mythology being Astrology fate and are being simialrly used for T's scheme. He is making his own fate using these planets in the hands of other people. In the anime they went hard into the mythology behind the Gentle Darkness and Light of Destruction but this runs counter to the lore we already have. We know all darkness in the universe goes to the realm Zorc initially formed in (hell, shadow, whatever you prefer.) Horakaty is the inverse as the creator/master of light. It really gets confusing when you also introduce the concept that the embodiment of all light and darkness in the universe is also somehow these two seperate sentient and immortal beings that fuctuon very fifferently than yhe prior established purposes of these elenents. It makes sense that the manga whcih put more of a centralized focus on the prior series mytholgy would want to ignore this. It only makes the story more convoluted and contradictory. And yes. His initial darkness, but especially that grown from the rings influence (aka Zorcs) was drianed into winged Kuriboh, a feather of Maat briught to life. However, he was then thrust into the very origins of that darkness and allowed to soak in it for thousands of years. He essentially replaced Zorc but as a nore demigod version. He had a mortal core and human ambitions. Hes basically Yami Bakura pumped full of all the steroids. It was still a genuine threat from the same plot as the origional series but stayed respectful by not going beyond that of the origional and staying acurate. It was the what a s qual series is supposed to be with balancing its own thing with what was established in an entertaining but restrianed manner. Its very simialr to how some of the later arcs in Jojo are with the branching family members. Its a lot better than some of the filler and cheap spin offs the origional seriee threw together. A lot fo thsor like the cyber world and noahs arc as well as capsul monsters were just annoyingly mixed up. They trier to be their own epic thing while also muddling all the edtablished stuff so hard.

I played The Supression Pluto in Labrynth decks and special summoned it with Labrynth Labyrinth.
Sun is actually pretty op in a lower power format where non-destruction and banishing removal isn't that common.
Arc v was a good manga. I just wish people could look past that one awkward plot point at the end cause the story itself was so good

Give Terra Firma a break. Even Stratos needed a new effect to be viable. His manga effect is useless.
