    Thanks for this video. My Molten Special Edition just finally started giving me double click issues about a week ago after using it for TWELVE years with no issues. Such a great mouse, glad it's not too hard to fix.

    Wow I'm impressed to see someone else that is willing to go through all this work to restore an old gaming mouse they like. Thought I was the only one who loved their mouse this much. Mine was the second one you showed(gen 2) and I refuse to let it die. Thank you.

      Me too. Ordering some switches now any recommendations? First time doing a mouse repair the old nagas are to good compared to the chroma and layer series. They feel and are cheap comparatively.

    i dont remember when i bought my Naga but its been with me for a long time! Just changed the switches and it feels like new! I've had an issue that when i bring it on vacation and its not plugged in it wont work for a while so i guess the traces are not 100% anymore but i hope it will last for many years to come. love it!

      Do you have a wireless mouse or wired? You might need a new battery or to replace the cable, depending on which type you have.

    Great video. Wish razer would make nagas with this shape again. Been using my naga molten since 2011 and it could use some work. Can't find replacement scroll wheels anymore.

    If you dont feel like taking the whole mouse apart you can get away with taking the shell apart with just the 4 screws and then once you have access to the switches just blast them with contact cleaner while pressing the switches with a small tool. I dont have the switches on hand but this took me less than 5 minutes and the double click problem went away completely. If it happens again i will probably replace the switch but i wouldnt be surprised if this fix lasts me a while, they just need to be cleaned most of the time. Btw i used bw100 contact cleaner but im sure most contact cleaner will work the same.

    Small tip for anyone who’s soldering their new switches on, make sure the both right mouse and left mouse switches sit flush against the logic board, if either of the two are raised slightly it will cause issues once the mouse is back together

    I bought a Naga back when it came out thinking the side buttons would be of use for weapon change. I ended up not really using them. Once the left click started messing up I gave it to a friend who had like HP junk and told him to just blow in it. Today I run a g900 by logitech, the wirelessness is top notch imo.
    Also in B4 "bro change your smoke alarm battery" comments pile up.

    hey not bad! i just did this mod on my m720 that started double clicking. Its crazy that they can't just design circuits that don;t wear out these switches as fast

    • @PunkNDisorderlyGamer
      @PunkNDisorderlyGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re rated for millions of clicks, but I’m sure they don’t last that long. After all, it’s a small mechanism (moving part) that fails.

      @@arthurd1591 I genuinely don’t remember. Try typing in your mouse’s model number and micro switch it should yield some results. I think razor used Omron brand switches but I could be wrong.

    Such a nice mouse!
    I have a Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed with the same double click issue. Maybe one day I will replace the switch in that one. So disappointed that the issue started after 2 years of usage.
    I haven't came across one of these in flee markets, however I have bought a Razer BlackWidow Chroma v2 keyboard for ~12 dollars which had its cable cut. It came with the everything in the box (even the cut cable), like it was never used. Still wondering why it had a cut cable. Ordered a new cable, replaced it and using it for work since. Looks gorgeous :)

    I am about to replace the switches for a Razer Naga 2012 and a Razer Naga Molten. I would like to go ahead and replace the wheel encoder and button while I'm in both of these. Where to you find the proper part numbers to buy for these? Thanks!

    • @PunkNDisorderlyGamer

      I ordered these parts like 10 years ago, to be honest I think I googled the make and model of the mice and got a parts list somewhere.

    What are you referring as double click issues ? My mouse has some ghost click issues, (click even if I don't press the button), is it the same ?
    Where did you find the reference of the switch and where did you buy it (my deathadder elite may require a different switch) ?

    • @PunkNDisorderlyGamer
      @PunkNDisorderlyGamer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Double click is when you press the button once and it registers 2 clicks. Often times very irritating for drag and drop or other actions. I don’t remember where I got the reference for the switch, I did this repair too long ago. What I would suggest is looking up your mouse model and see if there is a switch listed. I bought these switches off Amazon or eBay I don’t really remember.

    Great video! I fixed my double click, however, I messed something up putting it back, it now won't track at all? any ideas? I noticed there is no longer a light at the bottom, I think there was before? I'm not sure what I did wrong, I opened it up again and it looks like everything is in the right place, I cleaned everything? I'm not sure what to do, it's acting like i'm not moving the mouse at all, everything else works fine. I've been using this mouse since I bought it when it came out, the lava edition & I can't use anything else, they are all to big, no idea why they changed the design lol. Anyway, any suggestions would be great. I looked online, but, people keep suggesting calibration & that didn't work.

    • @PunkNDisorderlyGamer
      @PunkNDisorderlyGamer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check to see if the white plug is seated properly, perhaps you pulled the plug out and damaged the cable, the one with the USB plug.
      I had a mouse a long time ago that was intermittent (it would occasionally disconnect), it had a broken plug and would only work if you crimped a certain place in the wire. You may also need to replace the usb wire.
      Does the mouse connect to the computer at all?

    • @Dropla
      @Dropla ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PunkNDisorderlyGamer I took it apart again & reconnected everything & it's all working great! I also had noticed there was a little spot on the opposite side of the laser eye that had a smudge of residue of some flux that must have touched it after I had wiped it, so I wiped that away too. I'm just so happy it's all working again! Thanks so much!!

      Get yourself some microswitches and replace them good as new. The early Razer stuff is top notch nowadays probably not so much. Death-Adder is the standard mouse designed one. I remember my mom picked up one at CompUSA when they were liquidating for bankruptcy for like $10.
