Hi Scott! You might consider how to create a list of production orders in the app

Hi community! I was wondering if you have experience producing GS1 codes for the outbound shipping label. 1 found just 1 linkedin article, but it seems all the configuration is on the ZPL side and attaching that to the document routing?

HI Scott, is there any mechanism to print the product labels in system, so the worker can scan the label while registering the items on handheld and system auto populates the item, Quantity, BN & Expiry date based on the GS1 setup

    Hi Scott
Did I understand it correctly, that you have to generate this GS1 code manually?
What if I am receiving a PO where batch number is auto-generated from number sequence.

Hi Scott, great video. Whats the name of the feature that needs to be enabled? Also do I need to enter those long values for scanning? Thanks

    • @Scott-Gaines
      @Scott-Gaines  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The feature is called "Scan GS1 Barcodes". The long string represents the barcode. In real life you'll be scanning that. I just don't have a scanner so have to use text to input.

Hoping you can give me a quick answer on something I saw on your video. Our company use batch enabled product but receiving through the mobile device never ask us to enter the expiration date. It populates the expiration date automatically based on the shelf life set on the item, assuming the day of the receiving is the manufacturing date. So annoying. The exp date our always wrong. The only way I found as a workaround is to set "purchase registration" check mark on the item model group but it requires to complete a bunch of other non-important fields. If you can point me to an article that might help me I would appreciate it.
What we need is exactly how you have it in the video. Enter batch. Enter exp date. From there I would love to investigate the GS1 barcode too!
    Thanks!

Take a look in the MS ideas portal I think that this is an idea that is out there. I've had a couple of people ask different variations of this same question. I don't think you can do this right now.

Hi! When 10.0.32 was released, a new feature called "Enhanced parser for GS1 barcodes" was autoenabled. After this, everytime we try to do any warehouse movement, I get the error "Invalid Data in GS1 Symbol". Any ideas on what can be causing this? Thanks for your help!

  • @MosesNishanth

Hi Scott, I am trying this for outbound processes. However, it does not scan the location, it always says invalid location. But with the same QR code, we are able to scan the batch numbers. Do you know if this feature is compatible for scanning locations?

A key step missed out from the video is selecting the General tab in the barcode set up and then enabling the Scanning parameter. Without this; you will get the error message: "Product identifier not found".

Hi Scott, I tested this a few weeks ago and ran into a problem with the batch dates. I used Tag 15, BBD and Tag 17 Expiration date, but I believe that is not material. What happens is that the batch is made with the receipt date as manufacturing date and then expiration date, etc. are calculated from there. I then took the measure to check 'Purchase registration' in the Item model group'. The effect is that during receipt an additional screen is opened where additional batch data can be entered. Do you have a solution for that?

There are several MS ideas out there. I think that this sounds like the same scenario as this idea. You should up vote it if it's your issue. experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=e095f801-e60e-ec11-b76a-0003ff458e61

Very clear video as always, thank you !! However, when I tried to do it, once I encoded the bar code in the mobile app I get the following error message " Product identifier not found". I don't know where it comes from.
Maybe, you can help me. Thanks

Make sure you have a barcode. I wasn't able to make it work if I just had the part number in the barcode. I had to setup a barcode for it.

@@Scott-Gaines I just did all the required steps as you explained in the video. I also verified that I have a bar code. I don't really know which part I am missing. However, thank you for your help!

@@mariondemarche6142 The only other thing I think you should look at is on the upc setup. I believe it's the general tab, make sure you have scanning set to Yes. Otherwise your barcode will not scan.
