TIP 4 ya. From a Navy Boiler tech veteran. 👈👈😲😲If you plaster over the ceramic cloth it fills any gapes to further insulate it and prevents the ceramic particules from becoming air born. NOTE (Clay, mud, and cements won't work becomes brittle and fall apart from heating expansion and contraction) After the plaster has cured wrap it with dry wall mesh tape or a fiberglass mesh roll so it can be painted with any oil based paint to seal and join the plaster into one solid mass. 👉👉Just like they do for marine/land based boilers and steam pipe systems. 💡💡Plus this makes it easy to clean. It's stonger protecting it from dents, punchers and cracking. 💡💡Same can be done strait onto the fire bricks with no ceramic cloth this will allow for more heat transfer to the environment.🧐👍👍

The problem with your rocket mass heater is there's no opening below for air flow. If you cut a door below and make sure you have a " _1" J shape. If it's working right there should be little or no smoke coming out of the chimney. Hope this helps😊

I’m not sure if you can use this trick or not but it could be a tool in the toolbox. We used to set a lot of guard post 4 inch 6“, 8 inch etc. filled with cement and we would mound cement on top to shed water the slickest finish could ever get was with a piece of plastic and rubbing it back-and-forth, troweling the top with the plastic maybe with a little bit of water with no rocks, of corse course !good luck !
