    we have a 2500 with the 6.4 HEMI. Coil spring suspension is nice, although it doesn't have the most comfortable of rides. Engine has a shit ton of torque down low especially for a gasoline engine. 4x4 shift on the fly works great going to and from 2 and 4 HI. Although it's rated for I believe 15,000, I wouldn't tow anything over 12 or 13,000 if you're going on the highway as it does tend to sway a bit without anti sway bars at anything above 60. My father actually works in the warranty lab for these radios so we were able to swap out the bezel for the 8.4 inch fairly easily. No complaints so far after 3 years and 20,000 miles!

      That cool! The 6.4L Hemi is very rare around me in a 2500! I really liked the radio in these, much better than others I have used. Our main truck is a Honda Ridgeline, if you can believe that! Thanks for watching!

      +MRJOHNDEERE3720 Thanks! There are all kinds of cubbies and pockets in this thing for sure. I would love a 2500 with the Cummins! Although this Hemi is extremely powerful at 400hp!

      You Tube are you sure it's not 395 brake horsepower (UK measurement)? According to my Dodge dealership, it's 401 horsepower (which does indeed equal to 395 bhp)

    I'm wondering if the brake pedal could have been lowered to match the gas pedal by using the brake pedal height adjustment next to the adjustable steering wheel lever.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly never even saw that switch! It probably would have, although many of them adjust the gas and brake at the same speed so it might make the gas pedal pretty far away. Thanks for watching!

      @@crazyjdkid after 4 years, I'm pretty sure you figured that both pedals move simultaneously. Nice video. I'm picking my 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie next week. Just waiting on my insurance company's payout after having an accident in my Awesome, well, used to be, 2015 Ram 1500 Tradesman Crew Cab. Both trucks are Maximum Steel Metallic and look almost the same except for the Laramie having all the chrome accents and bumpers. I hope you are enjoying your Laramie.

    Can I ask why the parking brake was not engaged?

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BusMaster99 It's got a park paw in the knob shifter. So only need the parking brake in things like inclines or with a trailer.

    • @disneyfan9099
      @disneyfan9099 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BusMaster99 Why should the parking brake be Engaged?

    • @BusMaster99
      @BusMaster99 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disney Fan To prevent stupid, but possible rollaways of unattended vehicles. Rollaways that could be prevented by engaging the parking brake in addition to park (automatic) or gear (manual). Not to mention, Fiat Chrysler has been sued for rollaways tied to electronic shifters (this truck has one). Stop asking me why, I've answered this multiple times.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For a manual it is a given to set the break and leave it in gear. But for modern automatics the odds of a park pawl failure are slim to none. Now sure this truck has the electronic shifter, but still odds are it won't fail. I'll take my chances just as I have with every vehicle I have driven over the years.I only use them with steep inclines or with a trailer. No need to be aggressive, I think his question was just as worthy as your initial one.

      @@crazyjdkid sure, can't know everything, right! It's a friggin nice vehicle... I think it looks even better than the newer models, and they've proven to be reliable... actually considering this generation, especially now they have such good deals on the 4th gens... A full-option Laramie is about €35k now, which is way better than the €59k starting price for the 2019 European-only (what would be a Sport equivalent of last years) 1500... A Laramie even goes up to €70k and so on... hello? They're always pretty much full option compared to what you can get in the U.S., and we only have 4 trim levels instead of like 79 over there, but still...
      The 2014-2015/2016-2018's look *so* *damn* *good*!!! The HEMI sounds wonderful, the 8 speed is smooth as hell, ... I'm really considering quickly grabbing one, because it's pretty much the only affordable V8 in Europe and damn I love them so much!

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arnemaeschaelck5012 I kind of like both! The interior is nicer on the new one, but I like the exterior on the old one better. But overall I like the looks of the Ram 2500 with the Cummins or a Ford F250 Powerstroke better! V8 Trucks are a dime a dozen here. I recently was driving an 2018 F150 with the 5.0L Coyote 10 speed and the Hemi is definitely more powerful! Even here V8 trucks are losing their presence with turbocharged V6 and V6 diesels. That being said you can still order a pick up truck with a 6.8L V10 if one wanted it. What part of Europe are you in? It might be cheaper to buy the vehicle in the US and ship it over. Don't they tax vehicles in Europe by engine displacement?

    • @arnemaeschaelck5012
      @arnemaeschaelck5012 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crazyjdkid I definitely like both as well, and sure, the 2019 might be more future proof because it looks more futuristic, but I sure do still like the 2018 model! Looks sooooo good and it's reliable! The 2500's and 3500's are only available on special order over here, because they require a truck license (and it means they'll be capped to 92 km/h, need to be equipped with a tachograph, ...) since 2003 or something. Only really used as tow trucks (Cummins). Ford's 5.0 is definitely great (my friend actually has a twin turbo V6 Raptor, which isn't bad either), but the 5.7 is indeed a very torquey beast!
      I live in Belgium, and indeed, cars are taxed by engine displacement (and CO2 emissions and fuel type/electric/hybrid/...). A V6 Durango/GC/Wrangler would be €2k in taxes per year, whereas the 4 cyl diesel Wrangler would be €800... A Mustang 5.0, even though it's very popular over here, is about €4k a year... Even though Chevy doesn't officially sell the Tahoe/Suburban over here (you can easily get them because they do sell the Camaro and Corvettes), they do sell the Cadillac equivalents with a 6.2 V8, which is literally more expensive in taxes than the 5.3... I mean, hahah...
      However, and this is why RAM's are the most popular pick-ups right now, a RAM is registered as a light truck, so you only pay €148 in taxes (which would equal to a 3 cylinder city car). You'd pay 10% extra for the V6 diesel, but everyone just gets the HEMI. In Europe, they come with a BiFuel autogas system, sounds and performance are identical to gasoline, but much cheaper to run (would equal to about $2,5/gallon US, 110 RON octane) and slightly greener! So really it's basically cheaper to run than any luxury SUV like a Audi Q7 with it's V6 diesel or even a basic gas car...
      Importing a vehicle isn't very smart, because you won't have the warranty Dodge gives you over here + the RAM's are slightly different (we have amber blinkers + the reverse light where you guys only have a reverse light, brake lights as blinkers are not allowed + we have a rear fog light) + the options and finishes are not 100% identical as well... + our speedo is in km/h, yours in mph + European navigation maps, and so on, ...
      Might still be cheaper after all, but it's kind of a hassle to get a U.S. version street legal, even though it's probably not impossible... I've actually already seen imported vehicles (usually from dealerships that sell multiple brands of vehicles and they just import cars from wherever they get a good deal) with brake light blinkers, but idk if you're still going to be able to register it like that...
      But this V8 sounds so good, though! Europe has been favorizing diesel for too long (at some point even passenger cars were 80% diesel vs 20% gas), now they (aggresively) want to get rid of diesel and even 3 cyl. SUV's are a thing (which isn't too bad performance-wise, almost every vehicle is at least turbocharged over here), but idk how reliable those little lawnmower engines are gonna be in the long run... Yes, a V8 might not be the best thing for the environment, but it sounds good and it'll last... and it's soooo cheap to run + it's a gasser, it's the only big vehicle that'll be allowed in low emission zone cities for years! :)

      @@arnemaeschaelck5012 That's crazy how regulated you guys are! I don't know if you have seen the other videos on my channel but I review trucks like Freightliners and Internationals that weigh in at 26,000lbs,have air brakes and anyone in the US with a regular driver's license can drive them(If you haven't watched them feel free too, they are pretty awesome)! No speed limitations or logging/tachograph. I would be so frustrated if I was told I would need a truck license to drive a truck as small as a 2500! Literally probably 1 in 5 people here have at least a 2500/3500 size truck. We pay no taxes on vehicles besides when we purchase them and a flat rate of $25 or so a year to register it to get a license plate from the DMV. I almost never see any alternative fuel vehicles besides like trash trucks and city buses. Although some school buses are going from diesel to V10 and 8.8L gas and propane engines recently. We just don't have the infrastructure. We are probably opposite, 80% gas and 20% diesel. With trucks in the 2500-3500 range making up most of the diesel portion. Can't say I have ever seen a 3 cylinder car in the US before either. I do think it's kind of goofy we allow the blinkers to be the same color as the tail lights. My personal truck has amber turn signals and most other cars here do. But in the end you can't beat the sound of a V8, even the V10 doesn't sound as good. I personal am a big fan of diesel engines, we can delete all the emissions equipment off them, straight pipe it and run them forever. No emissions testing in my state. I love hearing about how things are different across the pond and really appreciate you explaining how different it is! I plan to visit Europe one day!
