  • The path of totality will come right through Arkansas, starting in the southwestern sky and ending in the northeaster sky. For towns in the absolute center of the path may have totality up to 4.5 minutes.

Even if it is cloudy, you will get to see the eclipse. As the eclipse starts, look for the clouds part enough to see it happen. I have seen this happen before. It was very cool.

Making an assumption. Sure maybe experienced some magic when at the precise moment of totality the ☁️ parted (like Moses did to the Red Sea) but know others who traveled to distant parts of the globe for thousands $ & got nothing but a washout...

@@guysalzmann9302 No assumptions, I have seen it happen during past cloudy day eclipses. My first has back in the early nineties during a field trip at the University Of Houston. We drove all the way up to Amarillo, Texas. We were just East of Palo Duro canyon so we could be in the path of the eclipse. Our Professor told us not to worry about the clouds. We all thought him a bit off about getting to see the event with such heavy cloud cover. But as it began, the clouds couldn’t hold enough energy to maintain an overcast cover. The clouds dissipated to reveal the event. We were all left speechless and awestruck. On the way back to Houston we all got a lesson in meteorology although the class we were taking was Environmental Geology. Fantastic course that I would recommend to take.

@@guysalzmann9302 This is something that I witnessed back in 1992 during an eclipse just East of Amarillo Texas. We were on a Geology field trip with a Professor who had degrees in Geology and Meteorology. We found a place that was dead center to the eclipse but were all let down because of the rain. Then, as it approached, without being in an area on radar that should have stopped the precipitation, the rain started to slow. It finally stopped. It was dark because of the clouds anyway but soon the cloud cover started to dissipate. The more we reached totality, the more the Cumulus cover broke cover at a higher and higher altitude. We started to see a partly covered sun soon after that. It was a great show as it got darker and darker. The color in the area was not normal for an eclipse and we suspected that this was wavebands being reflected back and forth from other areas still under cloud cover. The temperature dropped a good 10 degrees as well. Crickets started chirping. Once the event passed, the clouds moved back in and 15 minutes after that it started raining once again. It was one of the most fascinating field trips I have ever taken. I ended up earning 2 degrees in Engineering for U of H.
The most interesting thing I have ever seen was the late summer of 1980 up in the panhandle of Idaho. We were just East of Mount St. Helens. Over night a good foot of ash fell at our location. It was like a gray powdered glass. It covered everything like snow. I made the mistake of trying to brush just a little area off of our brand new truck to discover that by doing so, it would scratch the paint. We used water after that. I kept a jar of that ash until just a few years back when my Ex-wife decided to throw it away.

On 04/08/0004, exactly 2020 years ago, a solar eclipse occurred in the Roman Empire when Herod died and the baby Jesus was able to return from Egypt with his parents.
Flavius Josephus said that Herod died after a lunar eclipse, but lunar eclipse is not a reference.

This eclipse is occurring during a prez election yr. The political and social ramifications are going to be serious.. it is said that places people that are in the path of the shadow will experience major upheavals..thru out history major wars and historical boundaries all have occurred during and long after these eclipses..I am not certain the physical dynamics of how these eclipses work however i am convinced of the aftermath of the occurence..the two candidates who will be campaigning need to focus on the states who will be in the shadow of this eclipse. And Mexico will be a major player in this election.. if u would like to see the after effects of a total solar eclipse then I suggest u Google it then see what was occurring at thar time. The last three major total solar eclipse the occurred on US soil was in 2017,1918 and 1775 or 1776 one those two. It is an eye opening read and more then a coincidence.
