Thank you for posting this. I'm 32 and just getting into Parkour. I was feeling a little old in the class I took (with 20-year-olds) but this has really inspired me.
@@CharlieZuko pretty good, still at it for 6 years now! Due to like a free time cuz of working kids my skills kind of plateaued at a certain point, I'm not doing flips or anything, but it's still really fun and has kept me in good shape.
People usually stop doing this kind of activities because they start working and they're afraid to injure themselves, but physically it's easy to go on until your 50's and even beyond that. I'm 31 and I hope that parkour will be my lifestyle for the rest of my life. It just make me feel well :)
+Fed Alon So true. But honestly, I try to keep up with this sort of exercise/activity so that I DON'T get injured. The movement skill and awareness I get from doing stuff like this regularly helps me to have great skill at avoiding injury. People just have the wrong attitude. I'm 47 as well. I may not be as good at Parkour (yet), but I am still active in obstacle course races and climbing anything I can. It's all a matter of mindset.
It's like many things. No matter what age you are, listen to your body, and minimize risks by being properly ready to take on that risk. I'm not saying don't go for crazy goals and crazy things, just that you should prepare yourself fully BEFORE going for them :P But moving well is better than not moving well at any age imo.
It's certainly not easy to practise an intense sport like parkour until your 50s unless you do a lot of working out, mobility exercises, flexibility exercises, and have a brilliant diet.
I'm 49. I've been practicing since I was 45 on and off. I went to a couple of jams this weekend (wife and kid are out of town). I keep learning new things. What Beau says is true; learning new things keeps it a passion for me. It's great to see others like me out there-- Beau has definitely raised the bar, though! Great video.
There's me thinking 37 is a bit late, this is so good to see, it's about how you feel mentally, I can box jump up to 3 foot and practicing kong vaults amongst other things, it's an amazing feeling and my kids love it too :D
WTF?! He can do a GAINER at 47?! Holy shit this guy is a beast. And he started in his 40'... Oh... my... god . I'm am 20 now and i have fear to get old, but this is so inspiring
I enjoy seeing someone around my age staying active and training. I train and attempt parkour 4 times a week and am a professional martial arts instructor. I agree many people our age just shut down and kill the inner child of exploring and enjoying life. Life is all about movement and enjoying the present moment.
Wow, huge inspiration. At 28 I worry about how much youth there is left in me for this, but now after seeing this guy I am not worrying about that at all!
I'am 27 and people have told me it's too late to start in parkour or any sort of gymnastics stuff, even though I already have some basics down.. but I don't like to believe it's too late.. and after seeing this video I know I can do it too. Thanks for the inspiration!
very inspirational, thanks for posting, as someone over 50, I see that although I may not get to be as good as this dude, I can still be much better than I am, and parkour is so much fun!
Es increíble.. Como este hombre recibe semejantes impactos y que aún así vuelva a hacerlo y lo consiga, y con esa edad... De verdad, muy grande la motivación que me ha dado. Este hombre tiene todos mis respetos, es muy grande. Paz.
Very inspirational. I’m 31 and I missed out on a big chunk of my 20’s due to mental health issues. I’ve been depressed a lot about all the potential I thought I had wasted. I’m clawing myself out of a rut that I’ve been stuck in for far too long, and seeing amazing people like this proves that I can still do everything I wish I had done.

I am 35 and I have started Parkour for 5 months now. Beau is doing what he likes and I feel him.Human body is truly amazing and I hope me and him will keep training till we reach 60. Thank you very much Beau for the inspiration and the guys at Flow for making this video!!!
I'm 47 (in august) too and I train parkour since 7 years - I love to see people in my mature age doing parkour & freerunning. Never too old and never too weak! Beau, and you all - Train safe and have fun! Greetings from Austria.
Very inspirational. It's nice to see evidence that I've got a lot of potentially active years ahead of me, if I keep myself in good shape. It's really cool seeing Beau's progression even through the course of this video. Thanks for doing this documentary!
Done a bit of parkour when i was younger, started again this year now 35... and was panicking id left it too late and was gonna run out of time before I get any good again... this guys a massive inspiration
This was so motivational for me. I am 41 and just now getting into Parkour. I have practiced and taught martial arts for 20 years and until now nothing has caught my heart and soul like martial arts. Until now. It is a bit harder for me in my 40s but I always do what I set out to do and I'm excited to learn and train Parkour. I'm actually excited again to go out and train and condition because of Parkour. Never to old to do anything if you believe in yourself !
This may sound a bit dramatic but watching this almost brought me to tears of joy! Let the new standard for the future be written today! No excuses, just solutions, time to get it!
Good to know there are more people closer to my age out there who are loving this like me. Lets train hard and one day hopefully us older guys can post some vids ourselves and inspire others like this video inspired us and others.
Thankyou for your words of inspiration :) I'll be sure to take it slow. I've definitely felt wierd when I was training with younger people who where so much better than me. I'am still recovering from an ankle injury and it's really frustrating.. but I guess that comes with age, slower recoveries like you said.. we just have to stay positive and motivated, and it's people like Beau Kendall and this great community of athletes that help me stay that way :)
I'm 38 and just starting to learn.. this video is truly inspirational! I don't use that word lightly... but this is amazing and shows me that it is possible. Thank you and keep up the amazing work !
That guys is such a winner! Started at 40's and he can do sick precisions and that sand spot . Omg gainer from that height, i dont understand why some guys disliked this video:/
Absolutely awesome. Beau is such a massive inspiration. He moves with fluidity, softness on all landings yet has beastly pre distances.. Makes my 38 years seem like nothing. Just show's what is possible. Wish I was half as good as him. I'm certainly looking forward to hitting 47 and still be doing this awesome art.
Wow! I have been doing parkour for 7 months and I feel so free flipping off things and landing a big jump or doing a really cool vault. So Inspiring. Never stop
Gotta say I admire someone whose older and wiser enough to do something like this and I do agree with the 47 year old free runner the human body is a fascinating thing
Great video. Beau is very inspiring. Age doesn't exist unless you want it to; It's about mind over matter. Look at Beau, a classic example. I've been Parkour training barely six months now & as Beau says in the video, it does something positive to you, it connects you to your soul as well as your body. Very spiritual. I'll be 48 the end of October & looking forward to making a deeper connection with myself & others through Free Running/Parkour training. Thanks for making and posting the vid!
Here I am wondering if it's too late to start at 28 🙉 thinking back when I used to do it at 16.. My man's 47 and killin it!! That's it.. IM GETTING BACK INTO PARKOUR!!!!!
That is very inspirational for guys in their 40s and beyond. You never hear a lot of that from a guy doing a young man's sport such as parkour who usually are practiced by enthusiasts in their early 20s. This is a testament that once you put your heart into something, you are never too old to start. And with this video, he seems to be making a lot of progress. Way to go.
This guy is incredible. I'm almost his age now and I started training parkour nearly a decade ago and I'm by far not as good as him. Don't wait until you're 40. Not all of us are able to become as agile when older.
Tim and Flow, thanks so much for making and posting this. I'm 40 in about six weeks, started freerunning a bit last summer, and more seriously this year - it's really great to see someone who started at a similar age and see how well he's doing after several years of training! Beau says that he's in good shape "luckily, through genetics or whatever" - did he do any other sports or exercise before he took up freerunning? One other question, can we find Beau on TH-cam/Twitter/etc? :)
I love seeing this. I work in Physical Therapy and know the benefits this will have on this guy in the coming yrs. The age of 47 by todays standards is young. He commented on whether he can do this for 10 more yrs. Yes, you most def. can, and beyond if you wish, I can't emphasize more though, GOOD DIETARY habits. Eat 'lots' of fresh fruits and vegetables 'raw'. .This will make a huge difference in your abilities. This guy is an inspiration for so many, Get out there and do it, it's never late )
I saw him at the 2013 Storm Jam at the Southbank beach stairs. He was doing mad high back tucks and front 180s off the top steps, so mad to see someone of that age topping all the teenagers!
As someone just about to turn 40 I love this! If he does scale down I can see that he'd be physically fit enough to go towards trampolining or diving or rock climbing - all still amazing things ... . Having built such a healthy base will prove an incredible investment to his ability to enjoy his own life!
Something that a freerunner said a while back was that parkour in its simplest form is efficient thoughts so really as long as you can thing you can do parkour and freerunning
Awesome. I went from doing nothing for years and jumped straight into front flips. By the time i was able to complete my front flip my knees were killing me. I should have worked up to it and strengthened my tendons and ligaments. Also, about 20lbs over weight and in my 30's. absolutely right NO EXCUSES I am going for it! Train right and listen to your body, push past your limits and keep progressing. Thanks for sharing this video. "Defeat is only a state of mind" --BL
Keeping you posted that Beau is 57 and still as amazing as in this video.
Thank you for posting this. I'm 32 and just getting into Parkour. I was feeling a little old in the class I took (with 20-year-olds) but this has really inspired me.
