You can install software to Windows 11 that skips the stupid simplified menu and goes straight to the full right click menu! I wouldn't use Windows 11 without it. Most of the problems with the new OS can be fixed with lightweight software 😁

if you want to create a partition and have half rockbox and the other half itunes you can do that. to get out of rockbox you need to reboot using menu+center then as soon as it reboots immediately press and hold left + center and that will take it back to itunes. You can't use itunes though to manage your music if you are using rockbox. the ipod is now essentially an external hard drive. Just create a "Music" folder at the root of the ipod in file explorer and drag and drop music in there.

I had the same issue but it was because i had ejected my ipod before booting up rockbox. It will not find your ipod if you ejected it before hand
Yes, but with the playlists that I already had on there, will I be able to acccess the playlist again or will they be gone
So is it just a basic file explorer type interface? Or can you sort by artists/albums? And is there a good id3 tag editor that can get all the album covers and stuff for you?
You can sort by artists and albums. I haven't used an editor previously. Any albums ive synced to the Ipod have their cover art.

I've got a couple questions about all this, but I want to present my main concern first. Where exactly can I import songs from so that they can be transferred, and what format is best/usable ? I've been looking for an ipod classic to act as a vessel for my spotify library, and likely some of my soundcloud library as well. I don't want to stream through it, I'd simply do some plundering and sailing to rip my spotify playlists and songs, along with soundcloud.
Hello! No software necessary to sync music to the ipod. All you have to do is plug it into your computer and open it up in file explorer like you would an external hard drive. Create a folder in there called Music then drag and drop the music files. The software will recognize the file structure so you can drop songs in by Artist>Album>songs.

my rockbox is stuck at 100% when trying to install to my ipod. it says " package installation finished sucessfully" but instead of hitting ok I have an abort button and rockbox is not installed on my ipod. any help?
just hit the x in top right corner to close the tab instead of abort
Is it ok for me to format disk in drive E:? This has the same icon as my ipod so i dont know what to do with it?
yes format the drive under whatever letter it shows up in. Just make sure it's really the ipod you are formatting and not another drive on accident.

just simply uninstall the driver with a exclamation point in device manager its says like ipod then when uinstall it tick also the box icon next to it saying uinstall then after that unplug your ipod then reconnect it after that wait a couple of minutes because its installing the driver. after that the problem is solved

That is a good question. I haven't tried it before, but essentially Rockbox works just like an external hard drive when it comes to dragging and dropping files onto it. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but as i said above i'm not 100% sure because i haven't tried it.

Sí, lleva un tiempo acostumbrarse, pero permite el uso completo del espacio de su disco duro si tiene un disco de repuesto sin verse atascado por el trackl imit de iTunes.

No. At the root of the Ipod you create a folder called Music and drop your music there as if it were a external hard drive.

Hey, best tutorial I've seen so far! however having heaps of trouble getting past the DFU mode part, I can get it there for a second but then the iPod just restarts. Im on a Mac, im wondering if that makes any difference.
it shouldn't. make sure Ipod has a decent charge first. Leave it plugged into AC power for a few hours (not usb power to your mac)
