Bro!!! You don't even know! Gotta respect the old skool to appreciate most of the new... All these cats struggled hard to pave the way for today's artist. This right here is a helluva gem. Glad you found this cut. Alotta the new stuff you hear now sample a good majority of the old skool. Now ya gotta dig deeper and pull up more of the old. Some Temps, Platters, Marvin, Commodores, Isley Brothers, Al Green and the list goes on.

I really appreciate what you said about how they struggled to pave the way. That is so true, the record business ripped these people off so badly. I’ve seen a lot of artists in those DJ Cassidy mixes. Not sure if you’ve seen those videos, it’s really cool to see how they all still look so good. Gladys knight has inspired me to get a facelift, I mean she must have had one because she looks better now than in the 70s and she must be close to Eighty. Not sure. But omg she’s stunning!

@@itssewxtra1713 I have absolutely watched quite a few of Cassidys pass the mic videos. It truly is amazing to see how well aged alot of the old schoolers look. Alot of nostalgia in those videos, alotta faces people forgot were out there that helped set the tone for today's artist to even be noticed.

@@kevinperkins2438 omg I agree about how good everyone looks now! I could go on and on, but what stands out the most is Gladys Knight. Like whaaaattt? Did you see the Mother’s Day edition? She is absolutely stunning! But also see how much they all get into it when they do there hits. I about cried when I saw Bobby Brown, knowing his entire family is dead. With music, I feel like I know them because they are always there for me you know?.anyway thanks for your input.

@@itssewxtra1713 no i didn't catch the mothers day edition. But yea I've always had a strong fondness for music. Not just R&B. But all genres. I grew up listening to artists such as Al Green to artists such as Stevie Nick's and even CCR. Def if it wasn't for artist like this, who knows how many of today's artist would have made the cut. Though some of today's artist are kind of questionable. 😆

Us Leo's back then and today still wear that crown!😂 Yes Sir! This 70's teenager remember wearing our white ballpark t-shirt where we'd hit the t-shirt shop in the mall and have our zodiac sign pressed in the front ,and on back we'd have our name or known street name. Wearing our Calvin Klein,Sassoon Jordache,Sergio Valenti jeans. In the summer we'd wear zodiac t-shirts rocking our Daisy Duke shorts. Walking around and chilling at Menard Park of of Galveston Texas's beach seawall . The music blasting everywhere was : Parliament "Turn This Mutha Out ,Bootsy's Wind me Up, I'd Rather be with You, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly's Joy and Pain, Before I Let Go, Isley's Brother's Summer Breeze. Sometimes a local bad a_s group called:" Down to Earth" jammed the park' s pavilion stage. What a time we had back then! Blessed Day! 🙏🏾

I was surprised in later years how my kids know & remember every song their dad & I loved to listen to. They said it's their music too because they heard it every day playing in our house, car & at our friend's homes. They like many genres of music and props to parents that introduce their children to good jams including your dad & whoever influenced Satori into this rabbit hole of the 60s & 70s music. We were about your age, or a little younger (high teens), and The Floaters, Spinners, Delfonics, etc. kept us up against the wall all night. The 1970s were the absolute best time for music, because the artistry was off the chain. It helped train future musicians in my generation like Prince, how to compose and arrange their own grooves.

Where I play darts has these are all on the playlist. Only 5 songs, but what a list... Juicy Fruit, Float On, Tonight is the Night, Pick up the Pieces, Firecracker. Needless to say they all get played when I'm there.

The younger generation needs to take some education from how a REAL BLACK BROTHER treated his QUEEN! I feel so sad for what my daughters and other young ladies are going through… y’all need to also check out “Give your baby a standing ovation “ - by the Dells.. REAL music 🎶 REAL soul music 🎶

I love this song and the video. I have played this for friends who who were born after this generation. I was fortunate to live in this generation as a youngster and the songs that came from this era still are in my heart and soul. It stays with you. I have an amazing mental playlist from that generation.

Haven't heard this in a long time. We clowned them for those intros back in the day, but their voices were undeniable.

Thanks so much for giving old skool some props. I saw these brothers on stage way way back in the 70’s real smooth and silky but I wish they had a bigger push than they got. Today’s music does have a mix of edginess and smooth riding the Chris Brown stuff is really good. I’m 65 still loving the old and the new. Keep on keepin on y’all. Much ❤
