The Monarch's funeral arrangements are just about organised since the birth. Changes are made, obviously, the longer they live. QEII's arrangements when she was 25 would have been updated regularly. Every untimely death, disaster or whatever, will be and has been always on the drawing board.

Why
I can see that there is a lot of planning involved in a monarch’s funeral plans but the Queen’s funeral was very recent so why not just tweak those plans.

King Charles III had indicated at the start of his reign that he didn’t expect it to be a very long one, given his age and now his health. After all, his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, ruled for 70 years- the all-time record! He said things like, “in the time I have left”, “whatever time I may have”. So it’s no surprise that he’s concerned about how his funeral arrangements will be handled.
Every other day since becoming an AARP member I get funeral planning info…
My parents planned theirs 20 years before they passed.

I was planning my funeral when i contracted the SPA infection illness in 2023 at 20 years old and Wales will get a state funeral when I (their Queen) dies. I remember crying when a grief stricken Woody.EXE signed my funeral arrangements without telling Mummy, Princess of Wales what my funeral plans were. It was called off when I got better. I’m a healthy 21 year old Queen now continuing our duties as normal again
