    FYI there is a secret tip I found that really helped me in addition to this tutorial. I throw from the same side and curve that he does for example at 2:06. I noticed that you actually don't want to land inside the circle, regardless of that being everyone's expectation. I found that if you land on the bottom right side of the circle it is actually way better. If you slow the video on the catch at 2:06 you can see he does this here. Once I started aiming for bottom right, I saw 10x more excellent throws than I used to. I don't know if this would be the opposite side if you throw from the other direction.

    Thank you so much for explaining in clear detail how to do this! I have wasted so many balls spinning them and missing. After watching your video once, I finally learned how to do curve balls properly and hardly wasted a single ball in over an hour of catching time! I am just getting back into playing it again, after 5 years, and it isn't very popular here in the New England countryside. But your video was the best one I watched and the most helpful!

    Anyways, amazing video. Not sure if you were the one who did the math for it all, but you pulled it all together. Very nicely if I might add. Pretty easy to follow along. 2 parts I had to backtrack multiple times because I didn’t understand at first. But I’ll be trying this method for awhile to see how it improves my performance.
    Also, there was another user that mentioned to aim for the bottom-right of the Pokémon capture bubble or whatever it’s called; 2:06. I’ve noticed this method works better for myself. I curve mine the same way as well.

      I would throw to the side that you’re used to throwing and see if you can add more power. I think the power strength of your throw needs to be more to reach far. If that doesn’t help, try straight throw. Depending on what device you’re using, it might impact how far you can throw too.

      @ChrystophirGO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try your best - I’m rooting for you! Curveball throws help increase the catch rate a little bit so it’s definitely a good practice to adapt. Nothing is guaranteed with the catch rate (I remember many times I’ve thrown many excellent curve throws in a row and the Pokémon wouldn’t stay in the ball) so the best anyone can do is try to increase the odds of catching by using berries and excellent curve throws 🙂

    Hi there!! Thanks for the great video, really helpful!! Keep up the good work 😃
    I have a quick question for you :
    - I use an Android phone (Moto G9) and I can't ever seem to throw my curveball far enough, but when I try with my wife's phone (iPhone) no problem. I was told that it was impossible, do you know if there is a difference between phones?
    Thanks again and have a good one!!!

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! You’re welcome and glad it was helpful. To answer your question, yes, there may be a couple factors that can impact how you throw a pokeball including a device’s dot per inch pixel resolution or the screen size itself. I don’t know the exact calculation of what contributes to the pokeball throw physics but it’s probably complicated to figure out. For instance, on my iPhone 6s it was super easy to throw a pokeball far without too much oomph/effort with the finger flick movement. On a newer device like iPhone 11, it’s bigger and has a better pixel resolution so it impacted how I threw pokeball and had to adjust my throwing to adapt to the new device. This is my guess why you saw a difference between throwing pokeball on Android vs iPhone. Hope this answered your question! 😀

    I don't understand throw angle & strength... How is it defined... How is it changed... Wide vs narrow = ??? Strong vs weak = ???

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Throw angle is defined by the degree when you release the ball towards whichever side you're making the curveball from. Wider throw angle released from a degree closer to the X axis = pokeball will land on the right side of the Pokemon. Narrow angle released from a degree closer to the Y axis = pokeball will land on the left side. In simple short summary: wide throw = right of the Pokemon, narrow throw = left of the Pokemon. For the the throw strength, that is defined by the effort of finger movement to impact the distance of the pokeball travels. Strong slide of finger = flies farther (top of screen) and weak = drops closer to starting point (bottom of the screen). In simple short summary: weak throw = your finger barely travels on the screen with a small flick movement = no power to throw the ball far and strong throw = your finger presses harder against the screen and travels across the screen more in a swipe motion = gives oomph to your throw to go farther. All of these are just fundamentals to help adjust your throws and know how to correct them. I would recommend you try a light throw, a strong throw, throw to the side by shooting towards the top right corner of your screen vs middle. I think by doing it yourself, observing it yourself, and experimenting, you'll understand it better the curveball throw fundamentals I outlined.

    Hey Chrys. I just want to express my thanks for your precious tutorial. I have watched a couple videos from other creators, read up posts on Reddit, but none explained the throwing mechanic as clearly as you did. The X Y axis analogy really helped me understand HOW to adjust a throw when it’s not hitting right.
    I still have one question left - my biggest issue is with farther Pokemons. Could never seem to throw a ball far enough try as I might. Right now I throw with my right thumb, anti-clockwise. Take Lati@s, since their event is currently running. So typically I would take my right thumb to bottom center, draw small anti-clockewise circles, then when the timing is right flick my thumb about 45 degrees to the right really fast. It rarely goes far enough. When you mention “throw strength” in the video, how exactly does it translate on a touch screen? Is it by how fast I flick my thumb? Is it distance travelled by my thumb on the screen?
    Again, thanks for putting this out here.

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment. You’re very welcome and I’m happy you found value in my video to help you with your throws. To answer your question, with throw strength, it’s a combination of how much your thumb travels on the screen and the speed of the motion to the point when you finally lift the thumb to throw. For me when I attempt a far throw on a Trubbish for instance, I would describe the motion as a fast angle swipe instead of a flick. A short flick describes more of a throw for a Pidgey or a Rattata. A fast angle swipe describes more of your finger range of motion to be more on the screen from bottom middle to the right and do a high speed launch. You can try using your entire arm movement instead of just hand movement only to see if it adds any throw distance. So with the high speed launch, move your whole arm to create the quick swipe movement to the point of lifting your finger. From point A bottom middle to point B, the swipe travel on the screen should take 1 millisecond. Try using your index finger if that helps too to experiment if you haven’t already. Lastly if curves aren’t working out, go with straight throws as a last resort to at least try to land the ball. One more consideration is your phone resolution. There are phones out there that make throwing easier than others (it took a while to adjust to throwing with my iPhone 11 vs my iPhone 6s; on my 6s I could throw super far easily). If you have a family member or friend phone you can borrow to compare with yours, you can see if the technique works differently. What phone do you have? Hopefully this helps a little bit. My bad for the lengthy essay response. Let me know how it’s going if you end up trying anything I mention in this comment 😀

    Nobody has ever explained why the ball spinning is necessary. I’m simply spinning the ball once counter clockwise with my thumb and letting it go off to the side. I’m still getting nice/great/excellent throws and curveball bonus. Am I doing something wrong by using this method?

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How you’re doing it with one spin is perfectly fine to make the curve. I think a lot of people, including me, use the spin to sort of build momentum in an effort to better prep and time the throw. For you, you are probably good at timing to not need to spin as much as you eye for the right moment to throw. For others who need to keep an eye on the Pokémon longer, spinning the ball helps to build a momentum and just doing something at the moment leading up to the throw. Not a necessary step but more just experimental prep action for those less experienced 😀

    • @twicecactusman
      @twicecactusman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrystophirGO Ah, yes, good point. I just hold the ball at the bottom of the screen to wait for the circle to close and then time the throw from there. It makes sense that others would spend that time spinning instead. Thanks for the thoughts, and the video.

    Hey Chrystophir!
    I'm struggling to figure out when or where I should be releasing the ball if they're in the middle?

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The releasing of the ball will depend on your throw style and the Pokémon size and the circle you set (all these explained in the video) but you can start with these few key points because a Pokémon in the middle is the easiest set up: if you’re going for a curveball throw, release the ball after spinning the ball and your finger is launching forward. If it helps, think of a backward 6, as you spin the ball, release to the side. This is the point when I suggest you should observe where the ball goes as I mentioned in the video. Then adjust your throw from that observation. So in summary - WHEN: after you spin the ball and release the ball as your finger is going to the side like a backward 6 if you’re going for the right side
      WHERE: the side. If you’re going for the right side to make a curveball throw, like I suggest before, imagine a backward 6 as you spin the ball and as your finger makes the line that goes off from the circle to the side, that is where you release the ball to make a curveball throw
      Try this out. Hopefully this post is detailed enough and let me know what you tried.

    When I set the circle and begin the throw after the attack animation, the circle resets and goes back to going from big to small. What am I doing wrong?

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You might be setting the circle too small. If it’s too small while you start to begin to throw, it will reset to big. Set the circle a little bigger than before until you get the feel of what size circle you should set and have it still go smaller when you start to make a throw

      I would say make sure you're landing the ball at least. If you can't hit excellents that well, go for greats and nice throws.
      If you're only able to do nice curveball throws then make sure you're landing it at least. Also have a "great buddy" with you. They have a chance to hit balls back at the wild pokemon if the wild pokemon knocks the ball away.
      Also be really patient with 5 star raids. You have unlimited time so don't feel rushed or anything when trying to catch it. Wait until they attack then throw the curveball

    how do i properly spin the ball? i see where to let go of the pokeball and i understand power and all that but when i do curveballs the act of me making the ball spin looks different from how you do it

    • @ChrystophirGO
      @ChrystophirGO  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. I would say there is no one way to spin the ball because everyone’s spin style is ultimately different to their natural hand movement. For me personally, my spins are created from a narrow diagonal oval because that helps me visualize the direction to let go of the ball to the side. However, I’ve seen some folks make their spins from a more circular motion because it helps them time the throw a little better. I believe as long as you understand the general fundamentals on when to let your pokeball fly, your spin can be anything you’re comfortable with. Hope this helps a little 😀

      Galarian farfetch’d can be obtained in 7km eggs. I’m not sure what the hatch rate is for it because it’s been a while since I got a 7km egg (I don’t hatch eggs beyond using my free incubator to hatch one 2km or 5km at a time haha).
