    What you are working on looks awesome. I love the Octopath Traveler style. I am just starting my journey into learning code and UE5 and seeing other people make games solo gives me hope that I can do it too.

      You can definitely do it! There will be times you'll have feelings of doubt, but know that its natural to feel that way. You have to make a plan and keep marching forward

    This is really interesting, thanks for sharing! I also think you shouldn't get too wrapped up in the inspiration material at the beginning, I think yours will easily come into its own visual flavour

    I have never heard of octopath, but watching this video was so awesome. I love your style. Your game looks so good, and recreating that art style and expanding on it is so amazing. Love it!!

    Your game is looking good so far. One thing is, I'm not yet convinced of the roguelike aspect, I think thats being a bit overdone now, but I might be wrong

    • @EdomGames1
      @EdomGames1  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks I appreciate it. I can see where you'd feel it's getting over done since the market is a bit oversaturated with them. An argument can be made that you can strip a roguelike of all the "roguelike" elements but I think you just get a "survivor's" like game. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just a different game. But I as well can be wrong lol

    There's something ironically funny about the game being called "Project Bloom" when one of the biggest complaints about Square's "HD 2D" style being too much bloom muddling the visuals. (Especially since your game *doesn't* have tons of bloom in it)

    • @EdomGames1
      @EdomGames1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LOL I actually called it Project Bloom as a temp name because I had cranked up the Bloom setting when playing with particles. It was much higher in the past I've turned it down a bit

    @ggplayer1170 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very good video, I'm super interested in the project. The game looks visually striking and I actually prefer it over Octopath from what I've seen.
    There's way too much bloom in Octopath imo and that's not present here, it looks cleaner.

      @@EdomGames1 I myself are in the brainstorming phase of a pixel art RPG. I have the lore pretty well figured out but the engine is where I'm at now. Which one do I think would work? Yaknow Lol. Who did your sprite sheets? I have character portraits and stuff but I'm relying on AI generation a bit too much.

    No no no Octopath traveler It just can't be all that great seeing as it doesn't have anything memorable it's not giving you that warm feeling that you get with other games like Mario RPG the original super Mario RPG it was warm it was funny it was fun it was colorful it was alive and memorable even to this day characters were funny and enjoyable and had that fondness to it that is what is missing here! This octopath traveler game it's just too dark and gloomy so you're not getting all that richness that comes from the other games like Mario RPG you have to learn how to do something like that first before you can get into the dark place and that is also your first impression if this is your first game then that's what you should be looking for in the first place step out of the darkness and step into the light so that you can see what mistakes you will be making if you keep going down to start path! You want to have a game that is unique that has characters that can be memorable it has to be fun it has to be warm it has to be colorful it has to feel alive you got to be able to have fun with this game it shouldn't be all about the story and fighting that's pretty much what this game is it needs to have a mortality levels of layers of different things going on at the same time it's got to have that nice charisma that makes you feel okay at this game is going to be cool just from just by looking at it from the first time it's got that warm feeling that warm forcing feeling like a warm blanket that's what you need here man!!
    You know there are different types of level when it comes to an artist okay and we're looking at the beginner the intermediate the advance the expert The professional The elite the master the Grandmaster To god level and the god level is to say that you have to learn how to go through all these channels to become an God level artist and once you get to the god level you have to be able to create just like one who's beginning like a beginner because you have to go back to being that child once more and that will give you that god like Tier level when you can do that then you become a True Artist!
    And FYI this does not exist in today's world I have never seen a true artist out there it's just a bunch of mediocre but no true artist whatsoever exist in today's world isn't that sad that we don't have any legends among us when it comes to artists.
