For those of you that are wondering why it looks like greenish, it’s because the LED lights that are used in this Jeep is technically blue just like how your lights are usually bluish when you first start your car and turn on the lights. Now the only way to achieve a perfect yellow color for your fog lights are to use yellow bulbs. Not yellow tinted bulbs but bulbs that are yellow from it’s programmed chip.
Pro tips. Krylon makes an older model of this paint it's more amber you can still find it. Also use yellow LEDs under the yellow paint to get the yellow light you want. Krylon says it takes 7 to 10 days to fully cure. And do not do this in humidity they will look cloudy.
How is the color holding out over time? I looked at the Krylon brand for stained glass and noticed it was made for "indoor decorating," so likely has no UV protection to guard against color change over time. I'd consider a more expensive outdoor automotive paint.
I just did this to my Tesla this morning just wondering did you add a clear coat? I’m thinking about it... I did 7 coats with one spray can. Thank you for the video
Yo Ben, would have thought with you being in the tinting business you would have gone the route of using yellow tint/film for the fogs. Would give you the option of reverting back if you ever decided to. Plus my experience with spray on tinting fades over time and would need a retouch. Just my 2¢. Still, this turned out pretty good.
I bet they did not stay looking that good for very long after some bug strikes and scrubbing, you have to let the paint dry overnight completely then finish it with a couple coats of clear coat with a hardener, can runs about $20 but is absolutely nesacary to protect the paint and keep it looking good for the long term.
@Ben Anton : Does the light look greenish? In the video it looks that way. Can you please confirm? Krylon has a tangerine color as well. So, if the light is greenish, then I can purchase both the canary yellow and tangerine and do a mix of both.
Thank you I did this to all the windows in my house So, it looks like Sunshine coming through the windows all the time Except at night, when they turn black
I have rounded....oval....convex !! Yeah convex fogs and that Lamin-X is a PITA !!! Until I can afford those squadron fogs, this is the ticket !!! Awesome idea brother !!!
Main I remember back in 2007 doing this to my fog lights with stained glass paint before films were a thing and decided a light blue tint. Equal to a 6-6500k color. Got pulled over 10 times within 6 months saying emergency colors are illegal to have on the front of the vehicle. Yet I’d see straight up blue HID kits being run on LOW BEAMS. I hen I just wanted to run the parking lights with faint blue fogs during that golden hour as the sun goes down before needing headlights. But apparently that’s illegal and people can think your an emergency vehicle. But even tho was still light enough to tell it’s a black hatchback and again not strobing OR on the top of the vehicle. 🤦🏻♂️
I did the exact same thing last year to my fog lights on my GTI it looks sick I'm thinking about changing it to the orange in that paint or the purple in that paint. I've also heard from all the offroad guys that running orange fogs is better in fog and I think snow. And it looks awesome aswell..
So, just wanted to follow up! How’s the job holding up? We’re you happy with the results and home many coats did you apply to achieve the goal? Thanks.
If you didn't have them already, yellow lights would also cut down on the "whiteness" when they're on with the tint. Just using white lights and a yellow tint on the lens won't be the full set.
Man! I want to thank ya for this! So cool, been looking for something cheaper than bulbs! Got a screaming yellow F-1FIDDY! Thanks again! Gonna do all my rides this way👍👍👍👍!
Good mod, very helpful video. Might try a little orange, I agree that a darker yellow would probably give you a better contrast to the green. Thanks for sharing.
Any idea how to remove this paint ?? I’ve done this to my fog lights a while back can’t seem to find what would take off the paint , (paint remover /, acetone don’t work
You know I am reading about people complaining saying oh the videos too long it's only like a 2 minute video but you know what I actually enjoyed the process of you thinking out how you wanted to do this. Let the negative people make a video of how to do this and I bet they won't do it. I have never used that stained glass paint before and was amazed how it kept the glass as clear as it did. I think they turned out great. Awesome job!!!!
Exactly what I was wondering because it actually says it’s an indoor paint, I was wondering if there should be a clearcoat or something to protect it… I wish she would respond and answer some questions!
Actually yes, it locks my tailgate so nobody can access the storage tray under the trunk floor. I keep tools and other things in there that I don’t want to leave out, not only that but if your hood is opened the alarm will sound to deter anyone from stealing your battery etc

Was thinking sheesh we're 7min in and he hasn't even started painting yet lol.

Cool so don't do this in Ohio ever understood

Please show it again after you add the additional coats of paint!

Lmao some scum bag has 1 for sale on Amazon for $90
I put yellow tints on my fog lights and it's a slight positive difference. Plus it looks cool.

How well has this held up over the years?? Thanks for sharing!!
Any videos on cutting that bumper??
Man you talk too much during the video! Just get done. 😎
So functionality speaking how well does it work at night? Maybe somewhere really dark in the boonies?
Thanks bro I was afraid this spray can was not shiny at the end but now I know!
If you want a better application. Take the lense off , paint the inside with couple of coats and then put it back and do the lens as well.

But after typing and seeing final product those turned out great 👊 looks as clean as a film. Nice and smooth 👌
realy ? you still got that cut off bumper on there ?
I think you should have a piece of clear film on then spray it. That way you can change the color as you want without needing new lenses.
It comes off easily, you can wetsand with 600 or use a thinner like acetone or mineral spirits. You'd just have to polish it after
With this logic, why not just use yellow film rather than clear, and you can skin the painting process all together 🙄
Here's a pro tip. Use yellow led bulds under the yellow glass.
Pro tip Krylon says 7 to 10 days to fully cure
I wish I would have seen this before getting the lamen-x stuff for our Type R! Terrific video!
I bet he dropped those lights in a mud puddle just to clean them for the video to show of his mall crawler 🤣

Ronald Ciubuc how well does it hold up?
What is the brand and name of the spray paint. Thanks
How was the performance at night?
Have bad winter driving on highway so kinda interested
So, just wanted to follow up! How’s the job holding up? We’re you happy with the results and home many coats did you apply to achieve the goal? Thanks.
Do you think this process would work for clear eye glass lenses?
Can’t wait to see the video where you replace your bumpers!

How is it holding up to weather after more than two years ?
So I might use the extra to make my sunroof yellow, should be cool.
I wonder if they get hot, cuz that could fade the coating or melt it. Maybe. Otherwise they look great.
Man! I want to thank ya for this! So cool, been looking for something cheaper than bulbs! Got a screaming yellow F-1FIDDY! Thanks again! Gonna do all my rides this way👍👍👍👍!
THe paint that you use is it compatible with plastic lense? thinking about doing my fog lense on subaru..
thx
Cant' get it anymore! What else can I use?
Should I spray clear coat on these?
Should of just left that stock bumper uncut. But i like the yellow
Good mod, very helpful video. Might try a little orange, I agree that a darker yellow would probably give you a better contrast to the green. Thanks for sharing.
awesome result!
How is this setup compared to using yellow tint paper ? Any effects on luminosity ?
Has it burned off or gotten burn?
This is going to look good on my corvair rampside lights.
Any idea how to remove this paint ?? I’ve done this to my fog lights a while back can’t seem to find what would take off the paint , (paint remover /, acetone don’t work
Looks great!
Yellow is the perfect color
how is it holding up after 3 years?
I plan to do this to my light bar. How well does it hold up to heat?
Mine left with fine bubbles 😟😟 i didn't remove my fogs I just tape an spray
How did it hold up?
Did you let it dry between coats?
Is this safe? Doesn't it retain heat from the bulb?
Looks great bro 😊
Looks great 👍
Do you have a aftermarket exhaust on your Jeep
Question. If I have a slightly blue bulb, say about a 6500k and the lens is yellow, will the light look green?
They look really good!!
*owns 40k$ jeep*
* cuts bumper off to save money * wtfff 🤣
very cool.. this will save me lots of $$$
Great vid man!!! Im soo doing this to my datsun 620!!! 😁

Do you need to sand them first? Another video the guy did.
Yes. Sloppy work.
Nice vid sir! After you get it to where you want it then show a after video at night with the headlights on... thanks!!!
How has this held up?
Must be sealed units....thought maybe you would paint the inside of the lens...looks awesome!...🚙💜💕

your math teacher must be proud.
Buddy has no idea what overspray is.....he will tho when he puts his doors back on in the sunlight
It’s a setup, his next video will be “How to remove over spray” 🤣
Why Christmas color for a vehicle? That’s temporary good idea until the rock chips peels the yellow away.
Very smart Ben
Follow up video ? How well is it lasting ???
Looks good, cheap good mod
Maybe don’t use your fog lights if it’s not foggy
why would anyone tank the door off of their car, the mind boggles

Lamin-x film is another cheap way to get the yellow fogs.
Thanks looking for my 2016 ram rebel
Any update?

Something coming in the mail...Deez nuts!

Yeah not on market anymore now cost 99$ a can lol use Tamiya 86042 PS-42
It says indoor use only.
Did you really lock the jeep with the top and doors off 😂
Actually yes, it locks my tailgate so nobody can access the storage tray under the trunk floor. I keep tools and other things in there that I don’t want to leave out, not only that but if your hood is opened the alarm will sound to deter anyone from stealing your battery etc
