I never knew that the City Cap thing was repeatable, holy crap. This is a life changer, I thought I was stuck at four Cities total and a bunch of vassals.
Some thing to note, some of your units you unlock with tomes are units of your own race so are affected by your mutations, cultures and traints. You can spot them in the info area when you select "tome units" and every unit you can portray as different races (on the right side) are effected by your mutations. For example the "Hawk rider" as a tier 4 unit will be effected by your beast tome.
I bought the Game because of your channel. I love 4x Games but hadn't that one on the Radar, because I didn't like Planetfall. AoW4 on the other Hand is utterly Brilliant, keeps me awake for the last 3 days, my Wife isn't happy but I am 😅. Subscribed.
From what I can tell your pantheon is just a list of leaders you’ve won with that you can set to have a chance to appear as a hero or ruler in future games. Maybe there’s more to it but idk
@@chadstacy Not just your leader but some of your alliance victory companions and Fallen Enemiers Godir as well...at least that what i saw after playing through all the story missions. which makes this even more confusing. What i would like to know, since i cant edit the leader that has already ascended and i cant ascend again with the same (even edited) leader. do i have to kick the ascended leader out of the phanteon and then ascend again to have an updated one? or can the same leader never become a part of the phanteon again since he already ascended once?
I am new to this type of game and would love some more tips on early game expansion, especially on how to build new cities. When is it worth it, where should they be placed? Are there any downsides to building new cities?
You should have covered Prospecting, it took me 10 hours before I finally figured out how it's done. The game doesn't really tell you strict mechanucal terms that you need to place a Scout on a province before you can do it.
Hello, thanks for the video. As you mentionned your viewers can mention you ideas for the further videos : could you make a deep dive into farms & growth population mechanics ? I'm actually playing a feudal campaign with lot of populations & big domains. But I'm sometimes like... "well, I have a lot of farms, so I have a lot of domains for implanting... mostly farms. Ok, my units regenerate faster inside, and I have a few specialized structure that works in synergy with surrounding farms. But wouldn't be more effective to have fewer domains with careers/mines/mana nodes & so on ?" Hope you will take my suggestion into account. See you around !
Hey, i would be really interested in tactics combined with victory conditions. Especially the expansion one gets me stuck you need so much provinces i rather go for a military victory.
Order is great when going for expansion. Since vassal cities count towards your controlled provinces, you can just have 2-3 scouts early game and try to get as many free cities under your control as you can before others even see them. There's spells that add faster allegiance growth and an empire improvement that immediately gives you some allegiance with all free cities. A bit later on you can then cast an enchantment on your Vassal cities that gives you 5 imperium per turn, which is a lot when you have 6-8 vassals. And there's a building or special tile improvement that does the same. When you make 100+ Imperium per turn it's fairly easy to get to 5 or 6 city cap, which combined with your vassals should give you enough provinces. Also with that much imperium you can use it to grow your cities to expand them faster.
Will you be covering any multi player ideas and tips? I have a friend who is a die hard 4X player and he is RABID in his desire to crush me in a 1v1 and I must prepare!

I do enjoy videos like these to help, but at the same time they make the game look hard. Also i do like how flexible it sounds, since i really want to play Cannibal Barbarian Halflings. Its a hybrid between heroes of might and magic and civilisation. And yes, most of it is easy to learn. PS my first race ended like elves: halve steel, halve stone, halve Chaos, halve demons... and the nicest guys in the realm
Yeah the game tells you most of what you need to do if you activate the hints. Also almost every text message or ability has words with pop-ups that explain what is what.
Your main city center upgrades. It has a different name for each culture, but it will say "Tier 2" etc on it. In the video you can see it around 1:42, "Town Hall II: Dread Spire."
also in your tomes, you research either a summon or a unit you can build. Then you need to upgrade the city center to be able to build higher tier units
My this is i need more quarries than anything for bonuses but i still need everything else at the same time. Hard to decide. Though i like that you can build ontop of existing resourse generators and get different generator bonesses and sometimes gain stability or sacrifice a little bit of the previously generated resourse for additional resourse. Though i hate when the same building replaces the resource in tirely. I try to avoid that.
it's a pretty hard trait to use (underground adaptation), yes you start underground, but the moment you go above is pretty hard to get new territory without incurring grievances, and the underground is pretty hard to expand on as well
idk balor is kinda bad even if it is tier 5 , i palyed a game in very hard and i got like 450power tier 4 unit while mi balor had only 300 the reason behind of that is cause my tier 4 unit is from my folk and got all the buff while the mythic unit balor got zero buffs from tomb unit enchantment

Hey just wanted to ask if anybody plays this game on xbox and is having the same issues with Mass Recall spell that i have, because everytime i use it, my game application just gets completely shut down and im back to dashboard with no error pop ups like usually with most other games.
Adding the underground/lower dimension is great. It’d be amazing if they went above ground in a future expansion. Floating cities or the like.

i rather enjoyed the shadow realm from age of wonders 2
Thats not new in these type of games... we have many planes of existence since the 90s in MoM-likes.
and a deeper underground like the depths, i would really dig that
Yes! A sky world, underwater; perhaps a shadow realm or some other dimension. I think this feature really sets AoW4 apart from other 4X games.

right... I've put like 40 hours in since release... and was like yeah you clicked it so it's gone now....
Welp time to paint the map now
Yah, that whole interface looks very pretty, but it's ... not the best for presenting useful information.
The cost increases with 300 imperium each time, so in reality there is no such thing as infinite cities, but at least a few more is doable.
The other thing they don't tell you is that you can go over the Hero Cap.

The Mods for this game are already great, looking forward to the custom enemies, Forms, Vignettes, and Missions!
What kind of mods?
Lot of mods thar unlock customization options for your leader and faction. A few that rebalance level caps and skill point gains.

So you can stack many minor race transformations, but what about the Major ones. Is that limited to one per, only?
