I don’t think it can be considered the greatest game ever created by a long shot. Best of this generation, maybe, but even that’s debatable. But absolutely not the best game ever. I’d say Deus Ex, not only due to it’s impact on gaming as a whole, but as well as the fact that it has aged so well that even a modern gamer who never played it when it first released will figure out how to play within minutes, the fact it’s an easy game to grasp the mechanics of along side the fun gameplay and interesting dialogue leave room for countless replays. It’s really like the Citizen Kane of gaming. It’s not the first game ever, and it’s not the highest selling. But anybody that’s played it will tell you it’s amazing.
@@NotHarpoGroucho I understand what are you saying here, but the witcher 3 revolutionised the rpg genre. Its not just an amazing game, but it changed the way people see RPG's and games in general, they set the bar too high for the gaming industry to handle. I can give you some examples. Look at Assassin's creed origins and odyssey, two great games and the biggest inspiration they had was the witcher 3, you can even understand that (i have platinum for both games). Greed fall is another example as well. It may not be your cup of tea, but as I said before the witcher 3 set the bar way to high.
In no particular order: FF7 Remake, Firewatch, Spider Man, Persona 5 (Royal), Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Final Fantasy XV & Horizon Zero Dawn. Kinda surprised Rob didn't have Kingdom Hearts 3 on this list.

1. Nier Automata: brilliantly put together full of emotion and unexpected events. 2. Rocket League: the only online multiplier I play to Enjoy-Get Angry-Fight with Friends- show my skills. it just puts me through all sort of emotions in one sitting. 3. Horizon Zero Down: fantastically well-made game with almost no weak points. 4. MGS V Phantom Pain: the fact that this game can be played in the way you prefer is amazing. you can stealth, you can go gun blazing. it is all up to you. 5. PSA really needs to expand its library of games.
Persona 5, God of War, HZD and quite possibly Ghost of Tsushima when it's all said and done. Not including Rockstar titles since they're 3rd party titles.
Jk. Witcher 3 is King.
I personally enjoy HZD more than The Witcher 3
- Witcher 3
- The entire Yakuza series + Judgement
- Spider Man
- Uncharted 4
- Fallout 4
- FFXV
- Persona 5
FF7R is definitely my favorite. But being able to share the journey of GOW with both my wife and my son was nothing short of magical as well.
You mean wife and BOY!*
RDR2
GOW
Marvel Spider-Man
Metal Gear 5
The Witcher 3
Assassins Creed Odyssey
Ghost of Tsushima
Hello, you’ve caught me tapping this notification the second I get it :)
Horizon: Zero Dawn made me want to put on my headset whenever I played. It was an experience I'll never forget.
The Witcher 3 to this day in 2020 is still the best game ever created. It's something even non gamers should experience.
Eh, I'd disagree. But it's personal anyway
When my dad bought his ps4 it came with the Witcher 3 and he played it for like 30 minutes and he said he didn’t like it and he sold it in the next day
@@Ricardo-gf7ts I understand, its a game that requires time to put into it to understand it. I'm talking as a gamer, and I've played more that 200 games in my lifetime. And this game was something truly special for me.
4:06 Nappies Rob... they're nappies.
Pretty sure they're called diapers my guy
M P where are u from?
@@Ricardo-gf7ts pretty sure MP will be from the UK as am I and it certainly is nappies. It's also bonnet not hood on a car and tomarto not tomayto, but i don't think there's any need to call the whole thing off.
oh Rob is also from the UK whichis why it's nappies.
As a parent...toddler daughter as well...i always want to invest time in my games but after work and parenting, by the time u sit to play I am so tired sometimes I fall asleep on the game..lol. so I have to chip away at games like you said...i can relate
Hearing you talk about gaming pre and post parenthood just let that cold water bucket fall down on me since I'm about to become a parent myself hopefully in about 3 weeks lol
Congrats
Congrats
Red Dead 2 was the pinnacle of PS4 for me. Hit my feels so hard I couldn't play it again for 3 months because I kept mournfully saying "Oh Arthur..."
I continually live in hope that a remake of Red Dead 1 since they redid basically all of the playable areas from RD1
"Define the generation" puts Destiny I'm joking btw to each their own
You missed the part about "Personally Defined The Generation". This is a list about games that defined the generation for Rob himself...not the generation as a whole.
Destiny is and was amazing
literally one of the greatest games ever made? ye
Sneaky destiny had lots of issues I don’t think it’s that good but it was still pretty fun

PS4 was my first full-fledged Sony console, having only owned a PSP before this which was my childhood bestfriend (even a lover). And I think it's safe to say my time on PS4 has been even more memorable! And here are the 7 games that made it happen - 1) Nier:Automata, 2) Final Fantasy Games (15/7Remake but also 10,12 and Type-0), 3) Spider-Man, 4) God of War, 5) Red Dead Redemption 2, 6) Yakuza Games and lastly my favorite VR game -7) Astrobot!
who else is very excited for ps5
very VERY!
My Personal Top 7 Generation-Defining Games:
1. Persona 5 Royal
2. The Witcher 3
3. God of War
4. Red Dead Redemption 2
5. Horizon Zero Dawn
6. Uncharted 4
7. Final Fantasy 7 Remake
I'm so happy our PC friends can experience Horizon. Such a wonderful game.
After hearing you gush about Edith Finch, I bought it immediately. No regrets
Uncharted 4 could easily replace any of these imo
5. FFVII Remake: cant say it better than what you said in the video.
6. Persona 5
7. This is tough as I am yet to start red dead 2 that has high praises from everybody
Great list :)
Resident evil 7 on psvr,. You can smell the rot of the house.
You may need to get your headset checked out man. If it’s emitting rotting smells something maybe wrong
Spider-Man PS4 showed me how fun and smooth traversal in a game could be.
Thank you, Rob. You and your Friday features have been my only constant and I’ve been with you through my single, married and now, fatherhood years. Always looking forward to your videos. From one gaming dad to another - cheers and love from Singapore.
For me games that defined this gaming gen were:
-Witcher 3
-Red dead redemption 2
-Battlefield 1
-Rainbow Six Siege
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
-Star Wars Battlefront 2 (for bad reasons)
-Cities Skylines
Battlefront 2 is arguably one of the best ever Star Wars games now.
Rob, i don't know if you've played it or not but you should play The Beginners Guide. It's made by the people who made the Stanley Parable and only takes 2 hours to complete. it is a fantastic game
i only started the witcher this month and already have around 140hours sunk in and about to finish my second playthrough and plat the game, i havent been hooked on a game like this in a long time. one positive of quarentine right here
Best game of the generation: The Witcher 3
Me favorite game of the generation: Horizon Zero Dawn
Best Sports game of the generation: NHL 17
Best Open World of the Generation: The Witcher 3
Best linear game of the generation: Uncharted 4
Best platformer of the generation: Spyro the Dragon (Reignited Trilogy)
Best Racing game of the generation: Gran Turismo Sport
👏👏👌
You do realize best and favorite basically mean the same thing right? Because Best is a subjective term.
I didn't expect Edith Finch, but I find myself with no arguments against it so fair enough.
Rob, I've seen you score that rocket league goal at least five times in Friday features now.
We're all proud of you. You can retire that clip now
Great list Rob! I only have 1 addition. MGS 5. Why you ask? I'll never forget stepping out into that open world on horseback and knowing I could go anywhere and do anything with Snake. Nothing like open world stealth tactical espionage.
Glad I caught rob doing these friday features.
Rob, you should make a Friday feature of 7 game soundtracks that are just too good. It would be interesting but kind of different!
as long as the Nier: Automata soundtrack is included I'm good haha
Played them all and loved em. Cheers Rob!
God Of War
GTA V
Uncharted 4
Detroit: Become Human
The Walking Dead: Telltale Series
The Wolf Among Us
Red Dead Redemption II

4. Final fantasy XIV
5. Final fantasy VII remake
6. Bloodborne
7. Horizon Zero Dawn
Aw ya got me with the Edith Finch pick. That was an incredibly original experience. Definitely my favorite ps plus game.
Just realized rob is cosplaying as a PS5. That brand new white covering and the black trim.
7 PS4 games that I just loved and defined the generation for me are:
Bloodborne
Nier: Automata
God of War
RDR2
Spider-Man
Resident Evil 2 Remake
The Witcher 3
Destiny 1 will always hold a special place im my heart
Same
Great choices Rob. Mine are Persona 5 & Royal 5, Tomb Raider Def, Danganronpa, Fallout 4, Yakuza 0, Boderland's-not 3, Batman's, Spiderman, JRPG'S including F.F. 7 Remake. Days/Nights of Lasting Fun & Amazement. ♥️♥️

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
Uncharted 4
God of War
Horizon Zero Dawn
Read Dead Redemption 2
Resident Evil 2 Remake
I tell you guys. If Witcher 4 ever gets announced I‘ll break down in tears of joy. UGH PLEASE!

1. Black Desert
2. Subnautica
3. Apex Legends
4. Spider-Man
5. Star Wars battlefront.
