I love everyone but I’m still going to call it fort lee. It just a tradition honor thing. I went to fort lee in 2016 for U.S. Army AIT. I really enjoyed it. It a beautiful base in beautiful Virginia area as well. This is why I miss trump. When he was commander in chief of the U.S. military he basically said the same thing. It’s just tradition. God bless Arthur Gregg though. He’s a fellow brother U.S. military legacy member. And the woman.

It’s tradition to destroy the confederacy. Confederates are traitors

Why wasn't the name kept but to represent "Light Horse Harry Lee"? A revolutionary war hero.

The U.S. military is becoming too politically correct though. When you do that it becomes unattractive to potential recruits. What why people aren’t joining. The high ups that make these decisions must learn to adapt to the modern common person mentality. Most people just want to go with the flow, not get caught up in worthless mumbo jumbo. Work smarter, not harder.

Erasing American history. What a shame..

Renaming a military base is erasing history? I guess the Germans have erased Hitler from history since there are no bases in Germany named for him (or any statues).

There’s no erasing that confederates are traitors

By removing statues, allowing illegals to enter this country and not showing them the history of the U.S.A. Kids no longer learning U.S. history. It's a damn shame!

We're not erasing American history. The confederate rebels lost the war. Maybe you should learn history.

General Lee was far more significant in American history than those two (I had never heard of them) and arguably the best American General.

And a traitor to the country and a loser that lost the war. The American military wins wars. We should not honor someone like Lee. Was he skilled yes? But he fought for something unjustifiable.

I'm not calling it Fort Lee. Fort Lee doesn't exist anymore. It's Fort Gregg Adams now.

Great idea. Why were bases ever named for a General who fought AGAINST the United States? Show me the Fort Rommel on American soil and maybe I'll change my mind.

Fort Lee periodt. It will never be anything but fort Lee. It's about honor.

    • @TimberlakeTigerGirl

You are aware General Lee didn't want to be honored right? No statues, no memorials, nothing. So by taking down his statues and renaming things that had his name. We are ironically honoring his wishes while also righting wrongs.
