Look how touchy feely the hosts are. Creepy behaviour and Lesley was having none of it.

There was nothing disgusting about Mike Douglas. He was a great man that gave opportunities to many up and starting, vocalists, and groups. His song he was chosen to sing, ‘The men in my little girls life,’ spoke of the love of a Dad for his daughter. Yes, Lesley after dating boys when younger, decided after college, she was on the same team.

You should try actually being assaulted. Then you'll have something real to cry about.

Great feel good song! A couple months ago SiriusXM’s 60’s On 6 did a survey of the “Top 60 Feel Good Songs” of that decade. Fans could vote for their favorite songs. Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows was voted the number one feel good song of the 60s. Just one of a string of hits that Lesley Gore sang in the early to mid-60s. Sure wish she was still around to wow us with all of those great hits.

It is so spot on to single out Lesley. As a Stones, Beatles, Yardbirds fan, I could still never give a note better than Lesley and her amazing voice.

Great song! Lesley recorded Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows in 1963 for her 2nd Mercury album, Lesley Gore Sings of Mixed-Up Hearts. It was released as a single in 1965, with You've Come Back as the B side. The single was featured in the movie SKI PARTY. In 1965 Lesley recorded another version of SLR to be used in the movie. The producers wanted to give it a "live" feel, however they used the 1963 version in the movie. "You've Come Back" is from Lesley's fourth album, GIRL TALK.

This is wonderful to see - a true rarity. I can't help thinking that maybe Lesley wasn't crazy about it, because she was a serious artist, a very strong Musician who sense of musicianship always came through in her performances.

Lesley has stated that she felt it was a hit because it was such a short song. When radio djs were heading into the news hour and didn't have time for a 2:35 song, they played SLR. Written by Marvin Hamlisch. He also helped Lesley with her live shows at the beginning of her career. Another person who helped her with her live shows was Dick St. John (of the duo Dick and Dee Dee). Lesley's complete discography is at : lesleygorefanclub.com/discography

@@jackanthony976 Well how about that. I've so far read three 'unfortunate encounters' with Lesley and it only adds up to one thing (and confirms it): She's human. Lesley Gore is human.

I love the alternative ending of the song in this version but if you ask me Lesley is best enjoyed without stunts, gimmicks, elaborate costumes and choreography etc. More Gore, less distractions!

I'm with @MaybeIKnow80 on this one! In my personal opinion, nature could not be improved upon. The original Jewish nose suited her much better, more mature and distinguished, although, admittedly that was not the look she was going for at this time. One wonders which nose Lesley preferred and if she came to regret having work done later in life. In any case I'm sure we can agree she looked fantastic either way. Nothing but love and respect for Lesley.
