What a talent. What a voice. What a beautiful girl. Lesley was this teen boys dream. I wish I had seen her in person or even met her back in the 60s. I even followed her throughout her life giving interviews and talks with a sprinkling of her songs through the years. She even helped to get me through Viet Nam. I only listened to 60s music. Not the Beatles.
One of the greatest singers. Her sixties greatest hits were amazing! I saw her live in 2006 in SF, and she was wonderful. I even got to meet her after the show, which was a HUGE thrill. She did this version of You Don't Own Me on her last album, which I highly recommend.
Love this, her voice will always stand out to me and hearing her at that age makes me smile and love her even more than when she first recorded the song❤❤❤
I like this slower version! There will never be another Lesley, for sure. I still miss her being in this world! By the way, she did not write the lyrics or music of this song. The song was presented to her by two young men who wrote it and she lobbied for it to be published with her singing it.
От видео к видео , со временем вижу , как эта талантливая , трогательная девочка стареет. И мне становится грустно. Благодарю за то , что ты есть. Благодарен тем , кто сохранили эти видео.
Lesley sounds fantastic, but I would have loved for the choir to be more part of the performance, since she had such big group of backup singers here, so it would make even more of an epic performance of this anthem!
Lesley could sing it on tempo. It was just Lesley, who everytime changed the arrangments to the song and it actually sounded good. Also in 2005 "It's my party"
Lesley changed her songs many times during different performances. Sometimes the tempo. Sometimes the verses. I imagine when you sing a song so many times you just want to make it a little different.
She was a high school kid, just like us. The boys had no idea in 1963 what this song was about. The girls LOVED it.
Uh, some guys were smart enough to understand. 🙄
Don't you think it rather odd then that it was written by two young men in their twenties!
@@leoseries not odd really, there have always been a handful of males who get it. i guess... LOL
@@leoseries like 5 or 6 worldwide

Isn't it though?

What year was this filmed?
2005 ?
Seattle women's choir - excellent, but you need to be louder, especially now!
Пронзительно
Now just add a string section and it will be complete.

Didnt date guys
To me personally, she’s ruining the whole melody in the chorus what the heck are they doing ?
You can at least sing it on tempo!
