In regards to the comment about how they can't always be on the same page, Namjoon has an interesting quote in Break the Silence about that. He says, “I've said this several times, but it's like the seven of us are on a boat, looking in different directions but going the same way. That's how I describe BTS. Some might feel sad because I said we're looking in different directions, but I think that even my parents sometimes look to different places." They've talked a few times about how they didn't always agree in the beginning, but grew closer through ensuring they always respectfully discuss and work through everything. Though they have different styles and visions, it's always about what's best for the song, for the vibe, for the mv, whatever they're making. I think they're just truly invested in always making the best art they can.
and i think the way they always solve their problems had something to it too... bang PD says too that whenever BTS had ANY disagreement, they always talk, like 7 of them to solve everything, so that they not hide anything... how beautiful their relationship is... 💜💜💜
Like for releasing Dynamite and full English songs, some members weren’t fully comfortable or didn’t really want to release a full English song. However they figured it out together and put what was in the best interest for BTS as a group…
Talking about getting along, once Suga said that Tae and himself were the least alike, so it was very difficult for them to have a consensus so he told Tae that every time they had a disagreement they will hold hands. And they did, it's funny but it helped. They always work things out and they love each other. Like family, like brothers.
Well BTS is an anomaly even in the K-Pop industry, their closeness is really tight and genuine. Other K-pop bands usually disbands there after a few years because as you said, others are more individualistic or egotistic and would become more famous than their other members(usually the main vocals and the visuals) and would then rather pursue solo careers. BigHit/BTS as a group made it a point that all of them are equally recognized as an important component of BTS, that's why it has always been OT7 for them.
Lucas having a crisis saying this is so different from anything he’s seen them do. Like we haven’t broached the Wings album, my guy, plus the LY series. Strap in, you’re in for a ride 😁
Would it surprised you guys, if you know this album " Dark & Wild" was recorded in a garage in the US? They recorded this while shooting their Mnet TV Show "American Hustle Life". I think they recorded some & mixed at the studio you watch on their "ON commentary video"..
That’s why every BTS album is a surprise every time because we don’t know what genre we will got from them. It’s always different, like they next album be affluence by Country music, haha we just don’t know. Also in 1 album sometimes there is different genres. Like with other artists,we know what we are getting, so its not as big of a surprise
I was just thinking about the age thing in Korea... and now I wish we had those dynamics sometimes. I was a REALLY shy girl and I think it would've helped me immensely if an older person apart from my parents had felt some sort of responsibility to help me out and care for me. But in western countries, you're just expected to overcome issues like that completely on your own, which seems almost cruel in comparison. Jungkook was really shy too when he was younger (I relate to him a lot in that way) and I think he was able to overcome that and reach his full potential because of his hyungs and people caring for him. People always told me since I was a small child that I had many talents and that I was intelligent but that I should do more to reach my full potential. I think they meant well but I always felt very weird about those comments. Because no one really helped me and I was too anxious and shy to do it on my own or to ask for help.
Their discography is vast and insanely diverse. When I encounter occasional disputes between fans of different Kpop fandoms online with BTS-haters claiming that all of their music sounds the same, I always have to laugh. There is so much to discover and unpack and I am pretty sure if you mind is open enough there is something for everyone to be found.
Loving your sincere and insightful reactions from Korea! BTS' level of maturity is truly exceptional even in our culture. Although our collective mindset puts the group first before individual, after all, we all are self-centered human to a degree. That's why there are so many Korean groups which eneded up with conflicts, slanders and disbanding. However BTS members really put a lot of effort to honestly communicate with each other in so many areas and sacrifice one's ambition for the group. What's truly admirable is the reason they do it is for the people who are in need, who are having trouble in loving oneself. As you know Hybe's Purpose of establishment is "Music for Healing" and it was also the reason the members chose Hybe and Bang PD, instead of other big labels. As they repeatedly say in interviews a huge part of their purpose of doing music is to help hopeless people to have hope, which I truly respect of them🙏🏻
Hey Josh, love your reactions! Also want to share the love and shout out Lucas. He brings a really cool perspective as a producer and I enjoy hearing his thoughts.

"We don't like change". Yeah, that happened to BTS, too. They had some long term fans drop out when they started to sound too mainstream 'poppy.' Not my words so don't come after me. Things I read before I got off twitter (2017). Of course, that's when BTS started winning big awards in the west. Some people don't like it when their faves becomes everyone's faves.
It's interesting how BTS became more popular when so many die hard fans at the time said their quality was going down. I know many fans who have stopped "stanning" BTS purely because they feel their music is too safe and commercial now and that's a shame. Don't get me wrong I don't mind people not liking every song an artist puts out, that's natural. But some arguments just don't make sense. Like they've become too Americanized after only releasing 3 fully english songs out of how many songs 250-300 song. They've literally released more original songs in Japanese and nobody says anything about that. Or they aren't kpop anymore when BTS have stated they never want to limit their music to the term kpop. I'm here for BTS journey the good and the bad til the very end (which I hope is a long time from now). So do I absolutely love every BTS song, no but I'm not going to stop listening to them because of those few songs I don't care for. I'm just tired of BTS being called sell outs and overrated all because of how big they've become worldwide. Let them make the music they want to make we as fans don't know how everything happens behind the scenes. As long as they are happy with the music they are making, then I'm happy for them.

@@keerthikedia8046 I'm really interested in what BTS next album will sound like. They really could go in any direction. I wouldn't mind an album like Love Yourself: Tear (probably my favorite BTS album). Something a little darker and mature, we shall see.
You should DEFINITELY show him Jimin's "Lie"!!!!! As musicians you'll absolutely LOVE it. Trust me. It will make you both go 'wait what' even though you know BTS always changes it up
Since you mentioned birthdays and they way Korean ages work, Taehyung's birthday is actually December 30, so even more extreme than your Christmas baby example.
Guysss you should check out Danger the Mo-Blue-Mix they did feat THANH It’s so different and special and it has a full English verse at the end, I think you’re gonna love it
The thing with BTS is they have progression from 1 album to the next, chronicling the journey of growing up, the clothes, music, looks, fashion, the attitude, the themes that runs throughout the album, it will constantly evolve as they grow older.
I freaking love your opening together🤣🤣 On the how they can agree and how one member doesn't say "no I won't do that" and leaves. First I think it's that they have been together since they were very young and have been taught how to act by their fellow member. Second is that when they do fight or have disagreements they talk about it as a group that (in my eyes) is a very safe group and they know they can say what they truly feel. Third is definitely their society / culture, anyone looking at the guys can tell that they truly respect their elders (by age and in experience). Fourth is that I think they are just genuinely good people that have become such a tight family and wouldn't let one do something that they wouldn't want to do. Plus they all have their solo music to express themselves. So if the other members truly didn't want to do something, they could just put it out as a solo work
In the early years (and probably now) they used to have meetings and discuss any argument/problems between individuals, as a group. Bang PD said in a community talk that he told them to argue and fight it out (even physically, if need be) then report to him after it was settled, and an agreement was worked out, so any problems didn't have a chance to fester and build resentment. I always pre-order any new BTS album. I NEVER know what it will sound like, but I KNOW it will be well made. It's exciting to listen to it, without being able to anticipate or pre-judge.
what i love about their music is even if they have different sounds every single time, bts flavour never goes away, their identity is very much present 💜
The guys stick with the theme or concept of the album(s) that BTS is going for as a whole. But to indulge in their creativity as individuals they release solo projects that reveal their tastes outside of the group dynamic. They all have none BTS related solo songs but the rap line has complete albums(RM 2, Suga 2,Jhope 1) ,so far.
I suggest you watch and react the MV back to back with the dance practice videos in one video. In the dance practice video you will be able to see the whole dance and appreaciate the choreography more.
BTS is closer to prog than most realise, I think. I'm a big fan of metal and prog rock, and what they do is very similar - never settling on any particular sound, always pushing the boundaries, and most importantly (at least in their first 6 years or so) trying to improve and "outperform" themselves every time. Pretty much Progressive in every way.
You are not only pretty, but also genuine. Your friendship and how you joke with each other reminds me of my closest friendships. Thank you both! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
BTS as a group have a lot of love and support for one another after years of working through their differences, some of the members have been together for 10 years. In some of their earlier or pre debut days members had thought of leaving the group. There is a documentary where Jhope talks about leaving but only came back because he trusted the members. I think these guys could run a marriage counseling seminar with how well they have developed their relationships over time.
I love this chanel...you guys are hilarious and funny and talented. I cant wait to see your first video music and you guys dancing like BTS. Wish you happy Christmas and New year. Stay safe...much love from Norway🇳🇴🇳🇴💜💜💜
BTS are very good at singing/rapping against the music. Like how they sing sometimes does not match the music but it definitely works. It’s not like okay we can do this in the studio mix it that way, but they do it LIVE!
I am Korean American and Koreans have different mindset. Koreans will put the team ahead of themselves. We are not as individualistic. That's one of the reasons Kpop succeeded. There is unity because they will often put aside their individuality for the good of the group and groups are the way Kpop can stand out. It would be hard to compete with singers like Taylor Swift, Adele and others as a solo act in Kpop. There are too many talented solo artist among Western acts and no Korean solo act can surpass them. Also, there is a Korean word "jeong" that is very important to Korea and defines who we are.
Even with most kpop groups they don't get along as per BTS level. They "get along" because they have to. This was revealed by a top producer who has worked with many top acts.
I don't think a solo Kpop artist or any non-Western solo artist can surpass the top Western solo artists anytime soon, not because of talent, but because you are talking about Western artists...in a Western dominated music industry. For the longest time Western artists were made to be considered the best in the world...that everything else is inferior...to this day that mindset still plays a major role in how things are viewed...media platforms and biased Western music critics push that scenario all the time. Sure there's a lot of talent in the West, but there are also a lot of talent everywhere in the world...they just might not be singing in English, they look different, and more often than not, don't have the means to be pushed down everyone's throats like how Western artists can be. In my opinion, there is nothing more special about Western music vs. Non-Western music. The only advantage Western music has for me is I don't have to read subtitles. I find Western music pretty boring...almost always about love/break-ups, drugs, and how much money they have. I actually stopped listening to music all together for a couple of years due to how bored I was with Western music. BTS got me to listen to music again. I am not the biggest rap fan, but I definitely liked BTS's...my goodness they were saying some meaningful things without having to cuss or using the "n" word for half the songs...and I love the uniqueness of everyone in the vocal and rap line. Their music was different than what I was used to, and not that normal Kpop sound that I didn't care for either. It was so refreshing. They are great as a group, but the disadvantage of being in a big group is you really don't get to hear what the individual members are fully capable of...except for a few solo songs for each member. One of the most versatile members in BTS, JK, is a great singer, he can sing any genre, but I feel a lot of the time, he isn't able to showcase what he can really do, considering there are 7 members and the songs are getting shorter and shorter. Watching JK singing on vlive...wow, just wow...in my opinion I feel that if he ever decided to go solo, he could make it big...he definitely has the potential. And it isn't just him, all the other members, too.
@@zeyv4551 I relate so much. Never really followed the (Western/dominant) music scene because most of it didn't resonate with me. Most of the time, it's either all shallow and fun or dark and depressing. Or just plain crass, littered with swear words (swear words that don't even convey a sense of release, just swearing as a part of everyday speech). I like all kinds of music (especially classical, but also music from movie musicals from the 30s through 60s, jazzy standards, oldies, 70s music, a Linkin Park song here, a bit of Coldplay there, some Bjork, Queen...), but always felt like it was a pretty rare event to find a new song I clicked with. Then I found BTS and in a short amount of time, I had a whole new playlist of dozens of songs that I vibed with. Like you, I didn't care for rap until I found BTS (for me, rap just sounds better in Korean, haha). A lot of BTS songs also have interesting production with lots of layers and details and they just sound more interesting than regular everyday pop music which has become predictable and formulaic (with much less interesting lyrics too). Add to that their distinct voices and vocal and rap styles, endearing and humble personalities, underdog background, unique brotherly bond, a visionary CEO/producer giving them artistic freedom from the get-go (and demanding authenticity), their history-making career, thoughtful lyrics and concepts and sets, visuals, hair and make-up [including wild hair (and eye) color changes], fashion sense, hugely creative/high-production-value MVs, and the CHOREO... what a package. I just watched a random video of "Top 10 best choreographies in (American) music" and overall (except for the top legends like Michael Jackson) I was just like... what choreo were they even referring to? Wonder if they'd ever watched any Korean groups cuz you haven't seen 21st-century girl/boy group choreo until you've seen some good Kpop -- they be like actual dance crews who also sing and rap. :'D Then again, someone like Chris Brown wasn't even on that list... I have a feeling if they included anything Korean, it would have been Gangnam Style, lol. It just felt sooo outdated and meh (but, I repeat, legends like MJ are timelessly great - and also a major inspiration for a lot of Kpop choreo itself, along with hip-hop).
You always talk about BTS’ choreography so much, have you reacted to any of their dance practice videos? React to them, especially Danger dance practice (the reason I became an ARMY in June 15, 2015)! It’s a must! BTS, Bang PD and Big Hit loves and are very passionate of music that’s why they always try new melody to express and deliver their message to the world. BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!
I had to drop out of the live early to sleep so I knew I was gonna miss this, but you guys are awesome in your reactions, noticing the differences BTS has throughout their journey... This song was the first song which had them collaborating with another artist.. It's called danger mo blue mix, and it's korean plus english... Do check that out as well...
Okay but seriously, I listened to this review last night in the shower and I've been humming that song you sing at the end ALL MORNING lol, this is the second time this has happened, it's a serious earworm!
OMG this just reminded me that if you loved ON’s practice you would think Not Today’s gym practice would be nuts! The amount of “what you missed in Not Today dance practice” videos cuz its so badass idjdjjdjd
Also the music largely comes from themselves so I think they don't tend to feel forced to do stuff bc its them creating with each other and they highly value each others input and ideas - there's lots of examples in behind the scenes vids.
I think the boys have been super open minded from the beginning. It’s evident in Jin giving the singing and dancing a try, V willing to try out and j-hope willing to try rap. This is across the board. From clothing to hairstyles, they’re adventurous and aren’t ever afraid to try something new and it shows and that’s part of their magic.
Well to be honest in kpop when you make a contract and you become an idol of a company it's not like you have a lot of freedom. There isn't much choice for you even if you don't like to do sth. I'm talking about kpop in general but as far as I've seen from hibe it really cares about what an idol wants or needs, well it's a lot better than other companies at least and the members were always together no matter how hard thing got
You're pretty! 👍 Also, I'm really enjoying this bit of time travel as you head towards the 2019 MMAs -- it's a great approach. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the remixes of these older songs.
Dark and Wild album came out in August 2014. They were working on this album & doing AHL in July 2014….busy busy boys. DANGER was the lead single & WAR OF HORMONES was secondary single on the BTS Dark & Wild Album. BTW, LOVE YOUR COMBINED COLLAB REACTIONS TOGETHER.
Josh has a point about cultural difference. South Korea isn't perfect, but its roots are different from U.S. origins. 🇺🇲 was based on individual liberties whereas South Korea is entrenched in Confucianism and Buddhism with more of a collectivist mentality.
IMHO, hands down this has the best dance practice .... a lot of the footwork isn't seen in the mv. Check it out. Also, I think a great way to see how they work together creatively is their 'making of' the music video for Spine Breaker in a hotel room. ARMY grandma
I think if there are differences, they talk as a group and have a consensus and relay to the Big Hit mngt. Also I think Big Hit and the boys have very high mutual respect and trust for each other.
It's funny how their more generic, boy-band-ish songs are always the ones to blow up (like I Need U, Danger, Dynamite, Butter). I like those songs, but for those of us who appreciate how sophisticated they really are, it kind of sucks that those are the only ones that get to #1. And I feel it kind of sucks for them also. Mic Drop, Dope, Ugh!, ON, etc. are the ones that should have been at #1 for weeks when they came out, but we are all having to "discover" them on our own years later.
I am really enjoying your BTS series. You are both great to watch. Good chemistry with both of you. And I love “indoctrinating” BTS virgins. I tried to ignore my 26 year old daughter when she wanted me to listen. But so glad I did. And glad to have found your channel.

@@crystalsnow1138 Totally agree. BTS forever.
You should DEFINITELY show him Jimin's "Lie"!!!!! As musicians you'll absolutely LOVE it. Trust me. It will make you both go 'wait what' even though you know BTS always changes it up
you should have him react to the dark and wild album where danger is from! its such a fire album, so underrated
"Tell us that we're pretty"
OK, You are pretty 💜💜
Since you mentioned birthdays and they way Korean ages work, Taehyung's birthday is actually December 30, so even more extreme than your Christmas baby example.
Guysss you should check out Danger the Mo-Blue-Mix they did feat THANH It’s so different and special and it has a full English verse at the end, I think you’re gonna love it
Yes. I love that remix of danger
The thing with BTS is they have progression from 1 album to the next, chronicling the journey of growing up, the clothes, music, looks, fashion, the attitude, the themes that runs throughout the album, it will constantly evolve as they grow older.
I freaking love your opening together🤣🤣
On the how they can agree and how one member doesn't say "no I won't do that" and leaves.
So if the other members truly didn't want to do something, they could just put it out as a solo work
Lucas is a mood ^^
I love how hard the guitar is at the end 💜
In the early years (and probably now) they used to have meetings and discuss any argument/problems between individuals, as a group. Bang PD said in a community talk that he told them to argue and fight it out (even physically, if need be) then report to him after it was settled, and an agreement was worked out, so any problems didn't have a chance to fester and build resentment.
I always pre-order any new BTS album. I NEVER know what it will sound like, but I KNOW it will be well made. It's exciting to listen to it, without being able to anticipate or pre-judge.
I listen to "Danger" every damn day.
You guys are so funny! Double (trouble) fun when Lucas is reacting too. 🤣
You should watch Jimin and Jungkook's dance to Black and White. It's awesome!
how can anyone hate those pretty faces💜💜💜
what i love about their music is even if they have different sounds every single time, bts flavour never goes away, their identity is very much present 💜
Always so amused by your banters. Can't even skip the intro 😂
There's a Korean-English version of this song Danger featuring Thanh. The chorus is fire with the english lines.
Yes. The Mo Blue mix is one of my favorites!
"They're so different that time", boy they try something new each comeback
This dance routine is so great. You should watch the dance practice video for it.
I love the dynamic with your collab reactions together. Love you both. Thank you for making Patreon so reasonable.
"Dark and Wild" the album this song is on, was actually recorded in a garage lol, so I found it funny that you mentioned that.
I actually wondered about the age thing in Korea and now I know thanks to you! Thanks for explaining that! Always love your BTS reactions!
Danger is my first BTS song, and I love it forever
BTS is closer to prog than most realise, I think. I'm a big fan of metal and prog rock, and what they do is very similar - never settling on any particular sound, always pushing the boundaries, and most importantly (at least in their first 6 years or so) trying to improve and "outperform" themselves every time. Pretty much Progressive in every way.
이곡은 연습영상이 레전드인데...
꼭 한번 보시길 추천 합니다
Yes, I always enjoy watching your reactions and interaction with Lucas. He's fun to be with 🙂. Thank you guys.
That look is the look of every army when they turn from sceptical music listener to a bts fan.
*DANCE PRACTICE IS WAVING* :)
Also try to watch their live performance in *BTS CONCERT LIVE IN JAPAN 2015* they use band and janapnee version
Lucas is such a vibe 😂🙃😋😎 And the work with their producers and they also produce, as well as songwrite and compose.👍💜
They are constantly growing and that's what army loves about them and by the way me 57 yr old also in my house 22 yr, 17 yr, and 14 yr old army
You guys are fun to watch! I love BTS and watching others learn about them and enjoy them too. Thanks for the great video 💜
BTS’ best kept secret and most fabulous remix is the Danger Mo-Blue-Mix feat Thanh. Please react to this. No one else does.
@@sariel8406 At least they don't break up as much as western acts
@@sariel8406 Even BTS has disagreements and differences but they put it aside for the good of the group for group projects.
Another superior work by BTS. 💞💞💞
I really hope you will react to all their songs because I love your reactions
You’re doing great, guys. Honest reactions esp from professionals like you are much appreciated.
BTS IS the genre 😌💜
Also the music largely comes from themselves so I think they don't tend to feel forced to do stuff bc its them creating with each other and they highly value each others input and ideas - there's lots of examples in behind the scenes vids.
his soft serve hair
Loving how you got the Korean age computation down 👍👍💜 that's quite confusing for a lot of people😅
You're pretty!
I loved when Namjoons Hair looked like Soft Icecream 😂 Uff .. i remember 20 Years ago when i thought Backstreet Boys are incredible Dancers 😎
Lucas is just being himself and you both make a good Duo
Josh has a point about cultural difference. South Korea isn't perfect, but its roots are different from U.S. origins. 🇺🇲 was based on individual liberties whereas South Korea is entrenched in Confucianism and Buddhism with more of a collectivist mentality.
you should check out the album this song is in too, Dark & Wild. it's amazing what they accomplished, truly a gem in their discography!!
Pretty. Odd. is a great album, i'll fight anyone
IMHO, hands down this has the best dance practice .... a lot of the footwork isn't seen in the mv. Check it out. Also, I think a great way to see how they work together creatively is their 'making of' the music video for Spine Breaker in a hotel room. ARMY grandma
Love your reactions thank you 🙏 you guys are awesome 😎
You guys are pretty. Please watch the Danger dance practice. It’s amazing.
Y'all are a mood. Always lifts mine... OK, there's my "comment".
The dance practice is even better than the MV 😅 also, wait til he sees baepsae dance practice.
Vices and Virtues!!!
You guys are so cute.... i am so happy that you both genuinely like BTS and respect them too. You should watch BTS movies too. And their live shows
I think if there are differences, they talk as a group and have a consensus and relay to the Big Hit mngt. Also I think Big Hit and the boys have very high mutual respect and trust for each other.
🤣😂 when I see this video the only think about was that V cut his actual hair and freaked out.
Mic Drop, Dope, Ugh!, ON, etc. are the ones that should have been at #1 for weeks when they came out, but we are all having to "discover" them on our own years later.
danger practice 👍
Lots of love from Austria
It was said in his head gosh lol 💜
PREACH😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I am really enjoying your BTS series.
You are both great to watch. Good chemistry with both of you. And I love “indoctrinating” BTS virgins. I tried to ignore my 26 year old daughter when she wanted me to listen. But so glad I did. And glad to have found your channel.
I was waiting for you to comment on RM's soft serve icecream swirl hair.
