I always saw the message of "Fire" to be Your young, your allowed to party instead of study sometimes, you can make mistakes, you dont have to be the best at what you do - this is your time to discover who you are through trial and error And even if no one else will "I forgive you"
The spoon line in J-Hope's and RM's verse that goes, "what kind of spoon are you? they ask me. Don't call me a spoon. I'm just human," is a reference to spoon theory which is based on class and social status in Korean society. They also mention spoon theory in their songs "Baepsae" and "Mic Drop." Basically people with golden/silver spoons are people who have a high status, while dirty spoons are people with low status or come from a poor background. Their song "Baepsae (which is a type of bird)" also known by its English title "silver spoon" dives deeper into the social classes in South Korea :)
I think that your analysis is right on about fire. In one of their songs from their 2013 debut, called "No More Dream" they talk about breaking away from the expectations of a Hellish society by pursuing and achieving childhood dreams instead of the rigid expectations of becoming a government worker. In their song "N.O." it's also speaking about breaking away from the rigid confines of society. In their song, "Dope" it's calling on the sleeping youth to wake away and work hard to achieve dreams.
In Korea, young people spend a crazy amount of time studying every day. I think this song is just saying it's ok to take a break from that once in a while and spend all night partying. Suga will forgive you for skipping your studies.
You know you've become an ARMY when you finish watching a music video and one of your first thoughts is "I love them so much" 😂💜 I also love that this song is kind about how it's okay to let loose sometimes, to be ridiculous and a bit impulsive, and then ends with Yoongi saying "I'll forgive you" like you can make a fool of yourself and make mistakes and BTS will still be there. It's just sweet of them and something younger me could have used
I think that fire had 2 meanings (at least...) and I agree that it's talking about burning down the status quo, but also to fill yourself with burning passion. BTS MV also have this thing with hooded black figures (particularly in mass) that can be seen as haters. I dont know about those particular translation, i think another translation is a bit more gentle, its ok not to win. They mean sometimes. The education/expectation in SK is unreal. S.K. has the highest suicide rate among youths.
I read an article last night... it's not in Korea but in China i think... it's about a kid studying and answering his assignments... he was too sleepy and it was past midnight, he asked his dad if he could sleep for a minute but his dad denied his request and said that just for 30 mins, study more.. his dad gone to the kitchen to get his son a glass of milk and found his son asleep..he thought that maybe he could no longer fight the sleepiness so he tuck him in.. and the next morning, his son did not wake up, he died due to lack of sleep or smth about stress, i forgot the exact words but it's close to that.. it's heartbreaking 😢
You reaaally need to react to baepsae soon - that songs meaning flows thrue alot of their mws. They might seem to be fooling arround but their lycrics are quiet clear…. With baepsae you should see the explaining video first i think DKNKTV did the best one, and then see them perform it. It was one of the songs that really pushed me and made me go in to their lyrics.
The one with the hair orange, is V, he is the king of facial expressions, if you look to all the stuffs you will definitely note how extra he is with his expressions.
Please react to their song “Dope”, which was the song that was playing in the very beginning of the music video. IT IS DOPE ASWELL LOLL. Thank you very much for your reactions to these guys. Stay safe and love you💜💜
You truly are AMAZING & sooo insightful!! U catch on soooo many things the first time, & omg!! I NEVER noticed those paintings before!! I REALLY enjoy ur reactions!! 💜
You: WHY IS HE IRONING THAT MAN?! Me: WHY DOES V DO ANY OF THE THINGS HE DOES?! 😂 No, I know that it was scripted. He is my bias because of his randomness, though. lol 💜
This is an excellent example of why I love your reactions - you are actually watching and taking it in - you are only the second reactor to actually pickup on the fact that V was ironing Jin in the beginning.....most reactors are too busy playing up for the cameras with their "oh wow" inane commentary - with you I feel like you are truly falling down the rabbit hole that is BTS - and we are actually joining you in your journey of discovery... and the fact that you can actually talk about the content of the lyrics makes you different from most. Thanks for your content - it is great!! (And I must admit to having a smug satisfaction that BTS have blown you away as I know at first you were sceptical about them. Kudos to you that you didn't take things at face value, but were willing to find out why we love them so much.)... Yeah - you pretty
Love your reaction to BTS💜. Fire is one of my favorite songs and MV's, the choreo. is outstanding but doesn't do it justice. You may want to watch the dance practice to see the full choreo. just a suggestion, have a fab. day!! Dope MV is awesome too.
If you are interested you should watch on your own or react to an explanation video that gives an explanation from a Korean and gives a Korean perspective. I found the video interesting and made me like the song even more. It is on the channel called Minidance. Just look up Fire by BTS explained by Korean if you are interested. Thanks for reacting!! 💜💜
Yes, you’re right, the rebellious call to “burn it all” must be contextualised. Korean society is very focused on competitive education, and this has caused a pressure-cooker like system towards achieving social status and material security. it is unforgiving to those youths who can’t fit and succeed in such a system. So songs like FIRE found resonance among many. You need to pay attention to mentions of “spoons”, a term used in Korean culture to refer to different socioeconomic classes: silver spoons, dirt spoons, etc. Another brilliant satirical song of theirs talk about this, Baepsae. Check out the Dance Practice video of this and you will get the totally irreverent tone of that masterpiece. It’s truly hilarious. Enjoy!
This was my first comeback with bts so you can’t imagine how hyped up I was! I was 15 and it was the first time in my life I got that excited and emotionally attached and invested into something. Definitely one of my best memories from that time
BTS'S songs/lyrics/albums are made a lot of time how they etc see the world they are living in. Like the very first hour ARMY who grew up with Them can tell you. Also RM Suga JHope Jin Jungkook V Jimin are like you said a positive rolemodel. Besides working hard, they do a lot of charity and ARMY is doing that too. They are also sharing that they are still following classis (education). That's also very positive because, you are never to old to learn something new. You might like their song War of Hormone. If I'm honest the best wat to discover Them is to go through their albums and start at their first and up. You can really see/understand how they evolved. Also their Run BTS episodes are good etc. Keep on enjoying yourself.
I love how even as a baby ARMY (am I allowed to say you're baby ARMY now?) you trusted BTS enough to know that the song is more than the first take of it (like you mentioned about not just being drunk and partying), I'd say your takeaway from it is pretty much what most ARMY got from it. Youth empowerment but transcending age. BTS has this way of being so relatable, Fire says it's ok to lose/not win, Paradise says it's ok not to have a dream ... many of us are so used to living with so much expectations put upon us and the ones put upon ourselves that we forget this very simple thing. Live our lives, it's ours anyway. Funnily enough, these messages actually make us not only enjoy life as it is, it makes us strive to live our best life but shifts the motivation from external to internal :)
I like "Fire", if has this pulsating energy about it. It really ignites with new power my rebellious spirit. After listening this song i always fell like i've been charged with determination. It makes me wanna go show finger to the world and do whatever i want and do it in my own pace. World will judge you if you gonna go against a waves. World will give you a lot of shit trying to make you stay in a lane. It is lonely to try to break out of system. But when you have BTS in your life it feels like you always have extra life support system always available to you when you feel like you suffocating. Cause when you have BTS in your life, it means you have ARMY in your life, it means you belong to larger community which is very supportive and gonna pat you on a back if you gonna share that you feeling low. BTS created and inspiring ARMY that over the time became so much more than simple fandom. At this point it is more modern day movement who draws inspiration, and ideals from BTS.
Thank you so much, I felt like you would enjoy it so this is amazing. 💜💜 I Purple You. Also, whenever you have the time of course, I know you are busy, but you should react to the bts of BTS' Fire. It's great 🤣🤣 Even if you don't record it it'll be fun to watch.
I love your deep reactions. Most peopl watching fire, think it's just a fun song and doesn't mean anything special. Though there is the word " youth" written on the fence right before the music starts.
The scene where JK is sitting watching a bicycle on fire roll by him is a reference to the film Lost River that was written and directed by Ryan Gosling. You can actually see the words Lost River on the door behind JK. In the film, Bones sees a bicycle on fire roll by. It is an image that is meant to represent the dangerous world that Gosling is trying to capture. That shot of JK is a recreation of that scene:)
Thank you! I was thinking perhaps a transition from their youth as well, since the fence has YOUTH written on it and it gets lit with fire. Youngi's casette player (lol, some may not even know what that is), the casette is labeled 'burn it' ... as he shakes the hand of the hidden person (perhaps their past selves). I've been following them for a long time now, but haven't dug as deep as many other ARMY. I still don't know why Youngi says "I forgive you" and I don't know the meaning of "Boy Meets What"....unless it's related somehow to boy meets (becomes) a man? I learn a lot from the comments :) Thanks again. ARMY grandma
“Boy meets what” is a teaser to their next video to be released after this, “boy meets evil” (j-hopes solo song and the intro to the Wings album)! I think that’s one of the many meanings of this video, signalling that their “youth era” with the most beautiful moment in life albums is over and they’re moving onto the wings era :)
I can tell you about the Forgive you! They explained it briefly on a show called Immortal Songs 2 where BTS went to support PDogg. So the first line of "It's burning up." that Yoongi says is actually Daegu dialect (and his idea), they use it to hype yourself up - it can also be used to show one's temper rising. The example they gave is like let's say you bumped into someone and you're about to get into a fight. So the entire song can be seen as hyping yourself up before a fight and then after going through it saying to the other person I'll forgive you and going on with your life (without actually fighting possibly). Ofc, the fight can be symbolic
But it's also that the skill of their performance belies the words in the lyrics. As if they are saying it's okay to be talented and skilled and gifted, just don't try too hard to push yourself on others like that, just be a regular person in your interactions with society. Have friends, have fun. Okay, be smart and creative too, but don't pin yourself up like a role model that way. Just be real.
Wow so it was only this far into it when you've started saying you love them x') honestly I wasn't expecting it until later videos although it was already obvious before this point you were ARMY 💜

BTS will keep you busy for sure but if you want to look at something really different, drop a fav genre or 2 and I will suggest some not so well known peeps.
Love the reaction and interpretation! Always so good ♥️ I'm happy you liked it! you should definitely react to a live performance or dance practice (and maybe do that with the rest of their songs 👀) Hope you have a good day, take care! OH AND YOU LOOK SO PRETTY 😘
There is a clip of early dance practice, I call it dance roulette. They can't leave the days practice until they get (I guess a specific # of) dance routines correct. Sorry couldn't find it again. Hopefully one of the ARMY knows.

I dont know about those particular translation, i think another translation is a bit more gentle, its ok not to win. They mean sometimes. The education/expectation in SK is unreal. S.K. has the highest suicide rate among youths.
Thanks for the info! Yes I think in general, the expectations put on youths keeps getting greater and greater. Appreciate the watch!
Yeah, it should definitely be "It's ok to lose/not win."
@@Funtan_Sonyeondan so sad too that even after all that study it is still really really hard to land a corporate job... no wonder so many snap!!
I’m crying at your reaction to ironing Jin, same dude same
Please react to their song “Dope”, which was the song that was playing in the very beginning of the music video. IT IS DOPE ASWELL LOLL. Thank you very much for your reactions to these guys. Stay safe and love you💜💜
Will be getting to that one for sure! Thank you so much. Love you back!
Trueee! DOPE is soooo DOPE!
Yes. Dope
Live concert is even more hype and fun! Not just this one but all of there song.
dance practices and behind the scenes of every video are fun to watch too!!
:) Definitely! Coming!
You truly are AMAZING & sooo insightful!! U catch on soooo many things the first time, & omg!! I NEVER noticed those paintings before!! I REALLY enjoy ur reactions!! 💜
Thank you so much!
You: WHY IS HE IRONING THAT MAN?!
Me: WHY DOES V DO ANY OF THE THINGS HE DOES?! 😂
No, I know that it was scripted. He is my bias because of his randomness, though. lol 💜
OH yippeee my favorite song!! I love playing this song in my car! This is such an addictive song. Yes that was V ironing Jin!!
Thank you so much! I will def watch the choreography for this at some point soon. I love their dancing alot!
In a 2016 award show(forgot if it was MMA or MAMA), they perform "BOY MEETS EVIL + BLOOD SWEAT and TEARS + FIRE" ... very amazing!
I recommend you to react their dance practices and best dance breaks.
Def be getting to those soon :)
I was so happy when you sang along to "la la la la la" and your face just lit up. 😆
I wish I could dance like them - Bestie, don’t we all ? Hehehehe 😜
Thanks for your reaction. It is always fun to hear your take on their videos.
one of the hardest dance choreos and one of my fave BTS songs as well
Yes, you’re right, the rebellious call to “burn it all” must be contextualised. Enjoy!
We are bulletproof PT 2, Dope are good MV!
Love your reaction ... its like burn up the old of thinking and set a new way of thinking for young people...
Ironing part: jin looks like a ken doll
You are pretty! :) I´m looking forward to your reactions to the solo projects.
Ha! Thank you so much! First one to tell me I'm pretty! I can't wait to get to their other stuff as well!
i always wait for your reactions lol and you are pretty af
Thank you so much on both accounts!
This were the good ol’ days from BTS…
I think its awesome to see both the contrast and similarities to now. Thanks for watching!

Definetly check ON Knetic Manifesto
Wow Fire 🤩 i thought you were going to do We are bulletproof pt2 today but it's still a win-win
Yes!!! 🔥
Thanks!
when other people listen to sad music when in a bad mood. but i listen to this song instead.
My tears don't come out and I'm ready to go to the party

You rock! Your eagle eye and analysis is awesome. You are now one of my favorite. Thank you for being so cool. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
“Everybody say: LA LA LA"
That was so cool, you doing the lalalalala
Okay.... Added to my top favourites! 😂💜💜
I've recently rewatched Kpop history in 20 minutes video and thought how it might be interesting for you to understand the whole genre!
2:42 they're crackheads 😅
World Wide Handsome is expressionless 😂
the explanation by minidance brings a lot of language explanation, you might be interested
Thank you for your great reaction...I look forward to your nezt
Plz reacte bts's dance practice!!
I want Fire to be my ringtone. It would take a while to answer
Oh, and thank you....I love that you do Tom MacDonald too!!
Bow wow wow! 💜
You’re pretty.
Thank you so much! :)
BTS has a lot of amazing dance practice video. You should watch it
Jimin killing part! And V ironing Jin 😂
Hi, I am back. Nice reaction, ty. Love this song. It's so catchy. The choreo is awesome too. =0) stay safe. -NY USA BTS Army 💜
Thank you for sharing
Hi from an old lady in New Zealand. Been really enjoying your reactions. Am a mad keen kpop collector and been following LOTS of groups for the last 6 years. BTS will keep you busy for sure but if you want to look at something really different, drop a fav genre or 2 and I will suggest some not so well known peeps.
It also kind of sarcasm in mu opinion. "live your life the way you want it's your anyway right?" i get that feeling too
Love the reaction and interpretation! Always so good ♥️ I'm happy you liked it!
you should definitely react to a live performance or dance practice (and maybe do that with the rest of their songs 👀)
Hope you have a good day, take care! OH AND YOU LOOK SO PRETTY 😘
dope nexttt...please2..its sooo lit
Again Love your reactions so sub👍🙏💜
Hey, you´re pretty, keep going ;) Borahae
Thank you! You too!
There is a clip of early dance practice, I call it dance roulette. They can't leave the days practice until they get (I guess a specific # of) dance routines correct. Sorry couldn't find it again.
Hopefully one of the ARMY knows.
Found the clip. Indphm's TH-cam channel has it. Its " BTS - Random Dance Showcase Dance Practice " with English subtitles. Was posted on Oct 5, 2014. Check it out.
Hi, thank you of react💜💜💜
Your videos are fire sir!

Absolutely!
