It will be interesting to learn the cause. The way the boats were spraying the underside of the pier, it makes me think more of the fire spread largely on the floor before climbing. But we will see.
Much different from the Key Bridge in Baltimore though. Only the burnt portion of the pier is destroyed. The rest is fine, and the destroyed part won't be as hard to replace.
I hope this time she is going to take care of the pier because the pier was never in a good condition no one care of rules no one fish the woods there were some ugly fence instead fix it of have a security on the pier
Before this fire the Oceanside City Council approved more than $40 million for work on the access bridge and to build a bigger structure for lifeguard headquarters. That pier has been rebuilt seven times already so be patient.
@@davediamond9436 yeah I wonder? Seems to me it would be grossly negligent to turn the water off to the sprinkler system especially a wooden building in such a vulnerable area.
They keep claiming that several departments were there. 🤷🏻♀️ However, all those “departments” were unable to do much of anything. Even the boats could only assist a little. The 1st helicopter came about 50 mins after the start. So sad 😢 They were definitely not prepared for such a situation which makes the response even more concerning and disappointing. Imagine if it began at the entrance of the pier, and was summer, full of tourists?! I live by the pier and saw it :(
@@briancleveland6115 yup, and they were assisting very minimally the first couple hours. Check out a lot of the arial footage as well. They were floating around and their hose water was not reaching the pier. The water was choppy so it could have been for safety reasons that they had to remain back. Glad the fire was not at the entrance or middle and no one was hurt.
@@peacetalkspaz Right, the pier is higher than it looks on video, but the boats did as good of a job as they could, I used to live on The Strand st. Next to the little pink houses in the 90's when Dick Lyon was mayor, he gave me and my brother a tour of the new city hall and put us in the Oceanside 4th of July parade. And now you have a vegan mayor. California isn't what it used to be.
Homeless trash already have enough resources but would rather be on drugs and be leeches of society. How about we help hard working citizens and productive members of society!!!!
It’s so amazing how fast of rebuilding!!!!! What a “mystery”!!!
Insurance scam.
Oceanside taxpayers. 🤷🏼♂️
What the hell is vegan fish??! She said that's what the Brine Box was serving. Who would eat vegan fish? And why??!
Vegan fish - wtf?! I thought the same thing. Then, it is not fish! 🤷🏻♀️ but that’s why she’s mayor 🤣
It's like a vegan hamburger 🤣
@@peacetalkspazOceanside went from Dick Lyon to this person quick.
It’s you karen

No one was hurt or injured civilian or firefighters….so it’s just a pier, rebuild it and move on
Sad, illegals, squatters? No idea, electrical?

I think it funny how bad the news is today like show thing about the report not dumb people who have nothing to say 😂😂😂😂😂😂

RIP Brine Box.
It was expensive anyways , wack food lol
Don't these structures have internal fire sprinkler systems?
😂😂😂
since the restaurant was closed down , i would assume all utilities were off, including the water supply that would be part of the sprinkler system

The Brine Box was actively using the kitchen of Ruby’s for their establishment.
Oceanside has gone downhill, they went from Mayor Dick Lyon to this person.
I moved out of state in 2016,We had Woods back then . The voting had to be rigged.

The boats weren't designed for pier fires.

Complete failure on the fire boats part.Looks like a insurance job to me.
The pier and the structures are owned by the City of Oceanside. Try again, Sherlock.
Miss Oceanside CA,,,,save the Pier,,,, BUT SAVE OUR HOMELESS IN OCEANSIDE FIRST!!! SAVE MY SON!!!!
Your son is a loser.
Most homeless people choose to be homeless, and they started the fire.
