Thanks to you, I got the nicest compliment from my husband today. I made your "cawnbread" lol with brown sugar and sour cream. I left out the butter.... just to save some calories. Camirran I think it should o ba a felony to bake cornbread in anything other than an iron skillet. 😢 My mom was a wood stove taught cook and so was my dad's oldeest sister. My mom sometimes cooked her cornbread on the stove burner, gas and electric. It was to die for. Crusty on both sides. I just wish she had the time to teach me how to make her biscuits and so much more before she went home to the Lord at 55.
@@hettiecarries6450 thanks for sharing your story. i surely think cornbread is best in a cast iron skillet myself. doing it on the stovetiop is also a wonderful idea. my granny has done it that was many times. yummy
Honey. I have never thought if doing a cornbread hack with the jiffy cornbread mix like this. Wont the extra brown sugar make it sweet like cake? Camirra: Thank you, this looked so good I could have put frosting on it! To the readers: if you haven't made this cone bread, you ain't treating your family right. This is DELICIOUS.
I am a northerner born and raised. I have tried cornbread different times and didn't like it because it's usually to dry for me. I have found one southern barbecue restaurant that makes awesome moist sweet cornbread. Yours looks like the ingredients will bring me the taste and texture I'm looking for. Thank you for your encouragement to try again. With all the honey I don't think I can go wrong. Love the butter tip.
Can't wait to try this recipe as I keep Jiffy on my shelf. This definitely sounds like the best conebread recipe I've ever heard of. I do remember my late-ex-husband, Marty, telling me his mother, Laura ('Emma'), use to make conebread. They were from TN. Nothing beat's down home southern cooking! One recipe and I'm a subscriber!
Girl you need your own food show on TV.... I LUV your awesome personality. AND YES I HAVE NEVA had cornbread like yours. This is my new cornbread recipe!!! YOU GO CAMIRRA
Ms. Camirra, this has to be undoubtedly the best modified recipe of Jiffy Cornbread that I've seen. Can't wait to try it. Love your tip about how to add the frozen butter. I grew up in the south eating cornbread. My mother generally made a pone every day. I'd go to my paternal grandmother's on Saturdays and she would always make from scratch a pone of cornbread. It was the best, and I remember she used shortening - which apparently has fallen out of fashion - too, but with no sugar. To each his own. And when it came from of the oven, she'd bring out the butter (Land of Lakes, as I recall) and we'd eat it with Dinty Moore stew from the can that she'd warmed up. To this day, over 50 years later, I still love that stew. Lastly, every Wednesday, the home dinner was always pinto beans and cornbread. Great memories. I subscribed, hit the bell and gave you hearty thumbs-up. Looking forward to all your TH-cam videos.
That is a beautiful story about your mother and grandmother! Sweet memories I'm sure will always be with you. Thanks so much for sharing it with me. Its amazing how good food brings ppl together and connects us. I look forward to sharing more recipes with you. Please let me know what other recipes you would like to see on this channel!
Camirra, Thank You For Sharing This Recipe!!! Grating The Cold Butter Into The Batter Really Elevated The Cornbread!!! Best Cornbread I've Ever Made Or Eaten 👩🏾🍳😋 Hands Down Best Cornbread Recipe ❤
My Stepfather taught me how to use this mix to make Thanksgiving 🦃Stuffing back in the 70's (R.I.P. Ollie Pugh) and I've been using his Stuffing Recipe ever since. Not to mention he taught me his Sweet Potato Pie🍝 Recipe too.😁
OM Lord. I can not wait to try that frozen butter hack!!! I enjoyed your video you cook like I was raised to cook. Thank you God bless PS. Love that cone bread ❤️
I loved your recipe and your enthusiasm for cooking. THUMBS UP! My grandma, who lived in North Texas, used to make cornbread in a cast iron skillet and so do I. She used to make it with buttermilk and regular white sugar to make sweet corn bread. Lots of butter as well, but her special ingredient was diced jalapenos to give it a sweet hot kick every time you bit into it.
Thank you for sharing. Jiffy is the only cornbread my husband likes. He is a cornbread lover, so he knows the difference. I will try your recipe real soon, I'm sure it will be scrumptious.

I can absolutely tell everyone I made this starting a year ago and my whole family thinks I make the best Cornbread! ❤❤❤❤❤ had to come back and knew I was missing something and it was the brown sugar! Thanks 🙏🏼 love this recipe! Ps I do take a tooth pick and poke holes in the corn bread to let that butter honey run down in too. Mmmmm yummy 🤤

LOL! Oh Sis! I could sit here and listen to you talk about your food and how to make it properly southern... I can hear the love and passion in our voice as you talk about it. Thank you for doing this video! I don't have time to make the whole thing from scratch so this is going to be hugely helpful for me!! THANK YOU!
STOP SCROLLING this is the best recipe for cornbread. I always made mine from scratch...but no more this is my recipe now! Which it is scratch, but uses 2 boxes of Jiffy . Great recipe.
She is not lying !!! Me and my husband rated this 5/5 stars it was the best I’ve ever made. The sour cream addition and the grated butter were key to making it moist. It was like a cake lol Good recipe that I’ll continue to use.
It's 2:21 am and this looks so good that I'm pulling out the ingredients from my pantry to make it. And yes, I do have a pound of butter in my freezer!
Finally, I've found a woman that can cook Southern style the way I like it!!! Reposting if you don't mind to a young woman who is planning on getting married "someday". Thank you ma'am for this recipe. I've suscribed & the bell thingy, so see you later. God bless & be safe.❤🙏
Love it. I'm on a diet but you can't keep me away from this! Actually I do some of the things you do; the cast iron pan, I heat the butter in the pan first, and I have been brushing butter on the top after its done. But I haven't tried the sour cream, brown sugar and your way of grating the butter. I shall do it your way next time and I'm sure it's going to be great! Thanks.
Made this yesterday. So good and moist! Everyone loved it. My sister didn’t like the glaze because she saw it was butter and honey. Had I not shown her she would’ve loved it. She’s just a hater fr. Honestly the butter and honey glaze stepped it up. I got me a thanksgiving staple because if I make this more than one a year my doctor will fight me!
That’s why we can’t let ppl watch us cook hahah! I don’t make this often cuz I gotta be healthy, but on the holidays or a special occasion bring it on!
🤣🤣 The humor It is for me! I love the sour cream version as well! I do that for my corn soufflé! Wow that grated butter is a great tip for all my baking goods! never tried it with my cornbread though! Sis nailed it!
😭😂 I had a good laugh making this video! Never made corn souffle! you got to make a video and show us! Trust me try the grated butter, its really good in cornbread
Have you tried grated onions and cheddar in cornbread? So good. Dollop of Mayonnaise works too, if you have no sour cream. Quick tip, I make buttermilk from lemon juice and sweet milk. Pour lemon juice in a glass of milk, 20-30 minutes later you have buttermilk. Honey sounds great! Enjoying the recipes here!
Just wanted to say Thank you and God Bless you. It's such a present to get someone like you to give the best of the best recipes. @@CamirrasKitchen I really enjoy all your recipes. I have a hard time keeping my roasts from being dry. I usually have a two pound roast or a 3 lb roast. What's the secret? I tried low and slow, and searing and then low for a couple of hours, but it still isn't its best. I'm going to try your coconut shrimp curry next. Looking forward. Thank you, again.
If you haven’t done so already check out my recipe for instant pot pot roast. I think the instant pot make the most tender moist meat. However, if you don’t have an instant pot and still want to do oven, make sure you are buying a fatty cut of meat. Chuck roast is my personal fav and I look for ones that have nice marbling. If it doesn’t have too much fat add butter. Searing and then low and slow would be the best method. Also, check to make sure you add enough liquid. At least 3 cups beef broth for a 3 lb roast.
@@CamirrasKitchen Thank you will do. Your 3 cups of beef broth very helpful. I really like you and you're recipes. I didn't expect you to respond as you must be very, very busy. Your hints and matter of fact instructions are valuable to any cook. And, you make everything look so mouth watering.

I have always relied on my father making our cornbread because he does it so well. He is nearing 90 now so I have been trying to take over the helm. Can't tell you the number of dry pans we couldn't eat. He is not shy about his judgement so I have been a little daunted. Made your recipe night before last and told him (jokingly) that if he complained about this batch then he could cook his own dinners for the next week. No comments at dinner, but yesterday he offered unsolicited comments. He said that the cornbread was good and that he enjoyed it. Now my dad has always been reserved in compliments so if he said "not bad" or "pretty good" it was a marginal success. This recipe is great! I loved it. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
I’ve been on a quest for the perfect cornbread recipe and I think this is it! My entire family loved it. I tried so many but this had the right amount of grit and sweetness! Gonna try it again next week just to make sure...👍🏾 Thank you!
damn i'm glad this corn bread worked out for you. I'm from UK been wanting to taste corn bread for over 15 years way longer before the famous are you going to eat your corn bread quote lol
okay, let me tell you: i'm from the north. we would have cornbread sometimes, but it was almost always disappointing bc it was SO DRY. flashforward to a few weeks ago- my partner in crime is as southern as southern gets, and i wanted to make him some legit cornbread for supper. i searched high and low for a good recipe, and found this one. i cannot tell you enough how GOOD THIS IS. it's soft, it's moist, not too sweet, stays together but has a good crumble if you want to break it up with your meal. even better, the fella said it was the best cornbread he's ever had, and even brings some around to folks to try when i make it because it's so good. if a man wants other people to try your food because it's so delicious, you know you're doing things right. so, long story short: thank you, thank you, thank you! for this recipe! i've made it along with several of your other recipes, and they're all WONDERFUL!
Thank you for this My Great-grandma never added sugar, so we all never were used to the sweet. I left it out. They said they rarely had sugar to use. Great recipe, everyone loved it. The frozen tip is a winner.

You have made my mouth water!!!! I grew up going to my grandparents in the summer . They lived in Alabama. Out in the country on a farm. After church on Sunday come home to having a big lunch ! Your plate reminded me of such great dinners/ lunch memories back then....
Sweet memories I’m sure! I’m glad you enjoyed the video
I"m from TX. This is fantastic! For some meals (recipes), add chopped jalapeno (leave out the seeds), shredded cheddar cheese and minced onions.
Great idea!
Thank you !!!! It’s getting ready to turn very cold here in Oklahoma. My ham and beans are in the crockpot , and i thought i would shop around for a great cornbread video. And WOW , thank the Lord above i found you !!!! This looks incredible, i was so tired of plain old cornbread. I LOVE your video and am going to share it with everyone!!!! I am now a follower.
Wonderful! Welcome to the family! Please let me know what video suggestions you have

I love Jiffy cornbread, so I will love this cornbread. Thank you Camirra. Take Care.
You are now my cornbread southern belle! I’m just an old white boy, but I love my cornbread! And I love you too! Forget about it!

This is so good! My husband ate half he doesn’t really like cornbread until this recipe. It’s so so good I’ll never make it any other way
Camirra: Thank you, this looked so good I could have put frosting on it! To the readers: if you haven't made this cone bread, you ain't treating your family right. This is DELICIOUS.
You are so welcome!!
This should fit the bill for what you are looking for! Its sweet and moist for sure!
Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for joining the family!
Girl you need your own food show on TV.... I LUV your awesome personality. AND YES I HAVE NEVA had cornbread like yours. This is my new cornbread recipe!!! YOU GO CAMIRRA
Best Jiffy recipe I've EVER made!!! It came out perfect!! Thanks
Awesome!! I’m so glad you loved it 🥰
I like Stove top Kisses too. I was thinking (before you mentioned her), that you sound like her. Both of you guys are GREAT!!
Lol I have heard that before. You know in the south this accent is common. Thanks 😊
Yeah, I know. My father is from the South. And my aunties, & cousins sound just like you guys. Lol. Keep up the great work. 👍🏾
Hey. Hoping all is well. I just made this delicious cornbread and paired it with chili on this cold ❄️ evening. SLAPPIN Y'ALL 😋😀. Thanks Camirra!!

My Stepfather taught me how to use this mix to make Thanksgiving 🦃Stuffing back in the 70's (R.I.P. Ollie Pugh) and I've been using his Stuffing Recipe ever since. Not to mention he taught me his Sweet Potato Pie🍝 Recipe too.😁
Wonderful! Please share the recipes if you have a chance! I’ll make them for the channel!

That is awesome! I love buttermilk too and Jalepenos is of course a great addition!
This recipe was so good! My hubby and kids were even eating it for breakfast the next day!
awesome!
Thats funny my kids did the same thing lol
My mom tried this recipe yesterday and omg it was heaven!!!
Awesome!

She is not lying !!! Me and my husband rated this 5/5 stars it was the best I’ve ever made. The sour cream addition and the grated butter were key to making it moist. It was like a cake lol Good recipe that I’ll continue to use.
yes 🙌
It's 2:21 am and this looks so good that I'm pulling out the ingredients from my pantry to make it. And yes, I do have a pound of butter in my freezer!

Reposting if you don't mind to a young woman who is planning on getting married "someday".
Thank you ma'am for this recipe. I've suscribed & the bell thingy, so see you later.
God bless & be safe.❤🙏
Please do share the recipe! Thanks for joining the family!
Thanks.
That is awesome! You will love it for sure!
AWESOME!!!, THAT CORNBREAD ROCKS, AND YOU CAMIRRA DEFINATELY ROCK....
I made cornbread for the first time in my life tonight using your recipe. It came out delicious. Thank you for posting this video.
omg! thats wonderful! thanks so much for letting me know
🤣🤣 The humor It is for me!
Camirra, your cornbread recipe was amazingly delicious!!! My son raved over your recipe hack!!
I just made this and I’m not sure I can truly describe how wonder this is, all me and my wife said while eating was OMG mmm OMG!!!

I did a ohhhhhhhh when you brought out the butter grater and almost woke my husband up,lol! Great idea!
❤️thanks
My family DEVOURS this cornbread. Thank you for the recipe.

I love your comment so much! Im glad you could appreciate the warm humor. 😂its awesome this recipe come out well for you! 💜
God bless.
Wonderful! Thats awesome that your father loved this recipe! Thanks for sharing this story, very encouraging to me as well.
I’ve been on a quest for the perfect cornbread recipe and I think this is it! My entire family loved it. I tried so many but this had the right amount of grit and sweetness! Gonna try it again next week just to make sure...👍🏾 Thank you!
Im so glad your family loved it! Im delighted I could help you! thanks so much for coming back and sharing the success with me. 💜
damn i'm glad this corn bread worked out for you. I'm from UK been wanting to taste corn bread for over 15 years way longer before the famous are you going to eat your corn bread quote lol
okay, let me tell you: i'm from the north. we would have cornbread sometimes, but it was almost always disappointing bc it was SO DRY. flashforward to a few weeks ago- my partner in crime is as southern as southern gets, and i wanted to make him some legit cornbread for supper. i searched high and low for a good recipe, and found this one. i cannot tell you enough how GOOD THIS IS. it's soft, it's moist, not too sweet, stays together but has a good crumble if you want to break it up with your meal. even better, the fella said it was the best cornbread he's ever had, and even brings some around to folks to try when i make it because it's so good. if a man wants other people to try your food because it's so delicious, you know you're doing things right. so, long story short: thank you, thank you, thank you! for this recipe! i've made it along with several of your other recipes, and they're all WONDERFUL!
you are so welcome love! its great when u have a meal time win 🙌❤
THIS HOW WE FIX IT TOO!! But we add a small can of cream corn for texture....sooooo good!!!😊...

Thank you for this My Great-grandma never added sugar, so we all never were used to the sweet. I left it out. They said they rarely had sugar to use. Great recipe, everyone loved it. The frozen tip is a winner.
I'm so glad you were able to make this recipe work for you!
