  • Hey there, Motorcycle Rewind family! 🏍️💨
Remember that Honda CB77 Superhawk we revived in the last episode? Well, it's time to take it to the next level. We're not just giving this old guy a new lease on life; we're transforming it into a piece of art, all for a fantastic cause.
In today's episode, we're starting with the basics. First up, a good old-fashioned bath to wash away the years of grime. Then, we'll tackle the tank, sanding it down and using painless dent removal to make it shine like new. And that big dent in the front fender? Consider it gone as we bang it out and paint it the correct color.
But this makeover isn't just about aesthetics. It's about honoring our friend Howard and keeping his love for motorcycles alive. From painting the frame to the nitty-gritty details, every part of this project carries a piece of Howard's spirit.
And here's the best part: once we've transformed this Superhawk, we'll be selling it and donating the money to charity. That's right! This bike isn't just getting a makeover; it's making a difference.
Whether you're here for the mechanics, the memories, or just love a good before-and-after, this episode has it all.
If you haven't already, hit that like button, subscribe to Motorcycle Rewind, and stay tuned for more vintage motorcycle adventures. Together, we're making the old new again, one bike at a time, all for a worthy cause.

Looking good! Thank God that purple came off with the pressure washer. I get annoyed when someone paints their frame a weird color like that. Paint your bike however you want, but go with black for the frame...for the sake of the future owner who has to repaint it : ) Painting a tank, side panels, even fenders isn't a big deal but you gotta strip the bike completely down to properly repaint a frame... that's a lot of work. It's a deal breaker for me a lot of the time when I'm thinking about buying a bike.

Nice Job Eric! Does that painless dent tool work well for shallow dents? I have one in my CB750 tank and as I'm planning to keep it bare metal with only varnish on it, I kinda want it straight. :)

I think it does. The kits are super affordable and are great to have around.

Very nice work. What is the name of the ceramic coating you used on the plastic?

It comes in the Meguiars Headlight restore kit.

Was that tank sprayed flat black? I really liked your video on the Honda 550 four. I bought a 1973 Honda 500 four new When I got to Warner Robbins AFB. It was painted the metalic orange, with chrome fenders. That was a beautiful bike. I have seen other metal workers use sand bags or bean bags under the dents then hammer them out. Seems to work great. I can't wait to see this CB77 finished.

The tank was painted purple when we started. Wet sanded to remove that and get the surface flat.
Glad you enjoyed the 550 video.
I should get a sand bag. It would make it much easier. Thanks for watching.
