    Great video to encourage those of us with fine strands. Your hair looks amazing and thank you for making the video! . What was the length of your hair starting out?

      I started with about 10" in the back and 12" in the front.

    I have the same type of hair like you and I literally just got small sisterlocks installed June 18 this year. had my first re tightening and everything and I can't wait to see it after a year how it will look! I think I might start a video blog on my journey too because you're right not a lot of videos out there for fine hair like ours. Love your hair by the way, it looks really good!

    • @TheRealKylaB

      Interlocking. Sisterlocks are started by interlocking.

    When you say "lost" do you mean your hair came out or that the locked just unraveled? Also want to add your hair is beautiful and makes me want to get it seems low maintenance

    • @jdm4998
      @jdm4998 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do wonder if years of reties and pulling hair up will it cause baldness in the middle. I've seen a case with someone may have been dreads though and she was bald in the middle with long dreads around it. She had decided to cut off her dreads. She was older that's why I'm wondering about the long term of locks

    • @TheRealKylaB
      @TheRealKylaB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hair Loss happens to some women with age. Regardless of what they do with it. Hormonal changes. Genetics. Alopecia. Blood pressure medicine. Etc. The weight of long locs can pull the hair in the middle though.

    Hey new subscriber here and I wanted to say your locs look amazing. Im thinking about doing my own hair in sister locs but Im 4 months postpartum and my edges fell out 🤦🏾 I want them done like yesterday but I know I should wait till they grow back in...I also have fine/ high density hair. Do you think I should wait or just get started? Thanks in advance

    • @TheRealKylaB
      @TheRealKylaB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just start them. That way your hair can thrive faster! you can always start the locs on your edge as they grow. But you should start them when you're ready. Only you will know when that is.

  • @justbeingjo8622

    I have heat damage in some areas. Does that make me a bad candidate?

    • @TheRealKylaB
      @TheRealKylaB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I have this one heat damaged patch in the front. The locs dangle a little longer than the others and they aren’t locking. The hair is straight, straight, straight. Lol. I’ll cut them off eventually.
      You might have to trim the ends before you loc your hair or trim them as you go. Hell but it’s not the end of the world & shouldn’t stop you from getting locs.
      Schedule a consultation or 2 and see what they say.

    Your hair is beautiful. Do u have to be Natural to start the process?

    • @TheRealKylaB
      @TheRealKylaB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to have a couple of inches of natural hair at the roots to start. The permed hair won’t loc, but you can transition at your own pace as long as you have natural hair at the roots

      @@TheRealKylaB wow. Is that because of where you live?? I got mine installed by my beautician and was only charged $1000 and that includes my first retightening, wash, AND style but also I’m in Florida🤷🏾‍♀️

    • @TheRealKylaB
      @TheRealKylaB  ปีที่แล้ว

      @emmajeanmarie2154 Depends on where you live, your consultant’s experience, the length of your hair, size of your head , etc. But your first retightening is included in the price you pay for your sisterlocks establishment. That is a requirement and is part of the sisterlocks guidelines. I also got washes and simple styles included at the salon I got my hair done. How long was your hair? Mine was 10” - 12” back to front when I got mine.
